Replace the Battery: Carefully replace the old CR2032 battery with a new one. Ensure the battery is properly seated and the seal is intact.

Thanks for the info, Mike. Here's a suggestion: before doing this battery replacement, make sure your car is in an open space, not in a closed area like a garage. I accidentally hit the trunk release button on my CX-5, and the trunk lid opened up right into the garage door, leaving a scratch on the lid. 😢

What a hassle to replace the battery! I do wish all manufacturers would copy Tesla and use RFID cards for access keys and your phone to use the vehicle. Then we wouldn't have to deal with expensive to replace fobs.
