- Testing out the "maintenance cycle" on my Miele Miele WMV980 WPS Passion. It is very much shorter than my last Miele but still cleaned the machine pretty well. I use descaler as I have lots of limescale in my water and don't want this affecting the machine, especially the heater.
On this program you will notice there is an extra short option which I noticed you used. If you take that option off then it’s 1 hour and 19 minutes which is definitely better. It does a higher water level and it does the steam phase to ensure that it’s been sanitised. I don’t like this quick version I only use this if there was just a bit of dirt after I washed trainers or something.
I appreciate high-end items as much as the next person but it doesn't seem you get nearly £3000 of value. Many of the features are gimmicky and I'm not sure who the target clientele for this machine is, the key selling points are geared towards larger families with lots of laundry but the price and design make it more appealing for the upper middle-class consumer who is likely to have a housekeeper anyways.
Hey Sabistar, curious if you could help me out with some info? I’m in the US and looking to buy the refillable TwinDos containers. Some people here have claimed the containers are longer than the US models can support. If you still have your refillable containers, would you mind posting the length, width and height so I can compare it to the US TwinDos bottles?
Hi - oh that's interesting I thought the system was a standard size everywhere. I have measured my refillable containers for you: L 248 W88 H88 mm. Hope that helps!
@@sabistar44 dude you are wonderful and just saved me a chunk of money. It’s weird, but the twindos area on the machines and the cartridges is slightly shorter and thinner than those dimensions. I’m wondering if you could use it with the compartment open, but idk if I wanna pay the overseas shipping to experiment.
Are the twindos bottles with Miele detergents you get there 1.4 L or 1.5 L?

Have you noticed if the Maintenance Cycle also cleans out the recirculation pump and jet? I know Electrolux's don't and the jet gets really scummy. Hoping Miele took this into account.
The recirc pump does run during the maintenance cycle, yes!

I’m surprised with only as little water as that, that it didn’t do the circulation jet and a kinda spin wash to get to the top of the tub inside!
I does use the recirculating jet.
When you're using twindos (ultraphase 1/2) with pre-wash option, do you add additional detergent in compartment 1 of drawler or does take the extra detergent from the twindos container?
No, it takes in twindos for both the pre and main washes automatically. You can add stain remover into the drawer if you wish, as water still enters through there. But I’ve never had the need to!

Washer slould use High water level i always open the water presure too add more water 💦
Newer miele have a flow meter, so this wouldn't have any effect....
I guess it’s filling with hot water this cycle?
Unfortunately not, I only have a cold water connection!
@@sabistar44 oh that’s a shame.. especially as it seems this is one of the only differences between this and the model below other than the door and the larger price tag..
But I guess perhaps you might consider installing a hot water pipe to the washer eventually, so it is future ready!

@@sabistar44How do you let the the machine know you’re only using cold water? won’t it give an error that the machine isn’t connected to the hot water supply? I’m guessing when you set up the machine it will ask that if you’re using both taps or only cold tap.
@@dont_like_trash_washers that’s correct. By default it’s set up for cold inlet only, but in set up or in the menu you can programme it to take hit also.
