Don't trash the game because you don't think that the value warrants a $60 price tag. People buy CoD to only play team deathmatch over and over again and this is no different. This game is fun and I see tons of replayablity here. You don't have to have a Skyrim's worth of content to make a game "worth it".

TheTsugnawmi2010 I'm actually really good at Goliath, At stage one I use my jump ability, fire to take out enemies quicker and charge to get away faster, try to go on water as much as possible as when your running on water, you don't leave tracks, when I evolve, I focus on upgrading the things that I can use to get away faster when stamina is not an opition such as Ground slam and charge, after I reach stage 3, I upgrade my Fire breath all the way along with having charge and ground slam upgraded all the way, then it's time I become the hunter, I sneak around the hunters and attack the, support first, medic second, trapper then assault. Win every time. -Experience from the beta.

Keeping your distance in the beginning and using your movement abilities each time they are off cooldown to keep far away is a good tactic. Sometimes you might even skip eating for awhile just to get extra distance or doubleback because the Hunters have learned to cut you off and you need them to "wander" where they think you're going.

Most people seem to expect every game to be mind blowing and amazing. Some people just like making something that is fun and re-playable and how fleshed out can a hunting simulator be? That's right this is literally a hunting simulator but with monsters and spaciness. Its fun and if you're good its a hell of a lot funner.
Humans, after death, should stay dead. That's what makes them overpowered, they can come back. Also, only support should be able to revive fallen humans.
Which is why its usually best to only fight the hunters full on is when you get the stage 3, that way you can set the rules of engagement. At stages 1 or 2 and you nearly wipe the hunters out they can escape and respawn, however the generator was put in the game specifically to counter this tactic. When level 3 if the hunters flee you can attack the generator and force the hunters to come back and continue fighting despite not wanting to. You attacking the generator essentially is like you saying "No, we're finishing this now.". If you get too invested in a fight at the earlier stages resulting in permanent damage and the hunters flee and successfully escape, it can prove to be a costly mistake later on in the match which is why I normally only engage the hunters at level 3 and remain elusive the rest of the time. That way if they decide to run I can either hit the generator to make them keep fighting or just destroy it and win anyway if they don't come back at all. I played during the Alpha as Goliath and *never lost a match* as monster.
EagleOneoOne I played the Alpha and Beta, I know all the tips and tricks and ins and outs of this game. I got tons of advice. You can ask me about anything and I most likely would have a useful tip to help you out. For example if you do end up getting caught at Stage 2 don't be afraid to fight with them, just don't get too invested and take too much damage. When I fight at stage 2 my main goal is to just get incapacitation penalties on one or two hunters. I target one of the 4 hunters to incap (Except the trapper) and when I am ready to leave I then target and incap the trapper to forcefully take the dome down and then run. I easily get away cause they're busy reviving teammates and by the time they're done I am long gone. Getting incap penalties on hunters reduces the size of their health pool and is gonna be helpful when the final battle starts at stage 3 cause that is less damage they can take before they get incapped. So incap hunters whenever the opportunity arises but never get too invested in one battle if you're stage 1 or 2. Trying to get kills takes longer which leads to taking more damage, meaning you would have to get too invested in the fight to pull it off, you don't want that. Unless of course the hunter team has Lazarus as their medic, if that is the case if you get caught in a fight at stage 1 or 2 always focus on him for incap penalties cause when he revives his teammates they suffer no health penalties thanks to the Lazarus device but he can since he cannot revive himself. Just incap him, then the trapper to get the dome down then just get the heck out of there. Also due to the fact Lazarus can revive dead teammates, always devour the corpses of the hunters you kill. Devouring them prevents revivals, which makes Lazarus' main ability completely useless. I seen way too many monster players not eat their victims and have Lazarus revive them again. Course eating dead hunters is always a good idea no matter what since it gives you a decent chunk of armor in mid-battle to help you live longer and makes your fight against the remaining hunters easier. This is just a small taste of the knowledge I know, if you truly want to dominate as Goliath or any monster in general in this game, come to me.
I totally agree. Besides the fact that it takes them 30 seconds to come back, depending on how many people there are out. Or at aleast make the strikes bigger. Reviving dead bodies is absolutely stupid as well. And why should things hitting you stop you from eating and destroying the power relay? Awesome game, but they need to tweak it a little.

So yeah. I had about only 4 hours of alpha experience in the alpha yesterday and I can tell you how to play goliath or any monster really. IMO of course based on what I heard from players and experienced. 1. Do not pick fights at stage 1. Ever, the monster is weakest here 2. You're faster than the hunters. So run damn it. Far far away, eat, evolve, etc. 3. Do not spread out skills, max out one at a time for the most damage 4. Water is your friend. It masks your tracks without losing speed 5. Get to stage 2/3 as quick as you can. You become a legitimate threat now to even experienced hunters 6. Don't under estimate hunters at the final showdown/plan out the final attack. You may be OP stage 3 but the hunters know you are coming and have likely had a minute to prepare. You can get a minute or 2 to regain armor and possible buffs before you head in which will help determine the outcome
the reason why people say hunters are OP is because they start at full power and slowly get torn up in a regular game but vice versa for a monster if s/he is good, you have to be sneaky you aren't godzilla until you are level 3 plus armor, then you can rambo
dude I kicked so much ass with the goliath it was ridiculous and the controls aren't as complicated than what I thought it was but then again it was everybody's first time playing evolve so I should expect a challenge when the game releases
I love how Mitch did absolutely nothing that guy told him. Every time the guy said for him to run, he would go in and attack. When the guy said to attack, Mitch would haul ass. Hilarious. I played the alpha and the monster seems way too weak. The humans are OP for sure....

when you get level 3 game shifts largely in your favour...just try not to fight with armor down...I usually kill1 or 2 of them then retreat ... rinse and repeat easy
Zombi3 Grim A lot of people do suck, in every game in fact. I have yet to find a video game where the majority of players are competent. I've watched a lot of evolve and the monster definitely tends to win when they are playing well. As long as you don't seek out engagements until stage 3 and you make your escape when you get caught before your armor goes down it's pretty easy for the monster to own since stage 3 means you can two-hit people with your abilities.
Zombi3 Grim A TON of the monsters I fought against lost because they sucked at stealth. I was an OP monster. I killed squads at stage one. All you need to do is shift directions when you are out of the hunter's sight and then sneak and build armor or evolve.
Evolve is literally a hunting simulator for monsters on other planets. Why does anyone expect it to be more? Just seems like a lot of people complaining that it doesn't have "depth" or whatever. Played the Alpha on steam and its a fun game and if you get good its a hell of a lot more fun. Its also a lot of fun with friend against a decent monster.
That would be cool if you had Monster vs Monster but you had to protect the buildings as they maybe could give them benefits if they destroy them? Like a distillery for bio-warfare or something that can give the monster abilities.
For all you guys thinking the humans are op you should go watch GhostRobo play this. He dominates as the monsters and humans, and it's a great advert for the game. He shows how strategy is important for both, and the monster can dominate if you play it right and evolve, like the game literally tells you to in the name

I love this game a lot, what I do is get a good smash and flames and run from the hunters until I'm stage 3 then they've fallen back to the power relay and I go for the medic, camp the medic until they die and then go to town on the rest

For everyone who says the humans are overpowered, its called and learning curve. Get good with the monster and you can completely destroy them. I take it most you probably haven't played left for dead where it was really hard to be the zombies until you got good at it. Personally I think this game is well balanced. You get a solid team against a good monster and the game is very entertaining!

Defend is the worst mode in the world to be a monster. You are forced to hit a certain location in a certain amount of time. You need to go do what little damage you can between shields, and thats all you can do. Humans respawn every two minutes, on top of being able to get downed 3 times each. Humans are incredibly fucking overpowered in this game.
Lel, yah it's annoying. Just keep your eye on the respawn timer, you want to kill them once the timer is refreshed. Like, "Respawn in 2 minutes." THEN you go for them. Kill them all before 2 minutes expires and you win.
Great game though for those with concentrated patience if you can't take turns being the monster because you can't play first person then you fail at life.
It's not just Evolve it's every damn game now a days. Cutting out chunks of a full priced triple A title and selling it as DLC later down the road is way too common of a practice and it seems to happen with every major release.
I think it's a good idea to just go straight for the medic. Once you're level 2, or 3, you can actively ignore everyone else, and just hunt the medic 1st. Kill her fast, then bam, the rest go down easy.
This shouldn't be a video, playing the monster is simple. Run, eat, and run until level 3 pretty much. Normally don't have any troubles unless there is a good team of hunters every once in a while, in which case just go wraith.
Seems all the live streamers/developers/let's play/paid advertiser just plainly don't want to show how much the monster can WRECK a team of humans. But I agree, if I haven't witnessed the pure wrecking ball monsters can be, from all these sources I see of gameplay the monster would appear weak.
Archie M Ticehurst beta comes out in January, and from what I played during the alpha, this game seems very polished and very fun. Neat thing is that as DLC roles out, the entire player base will get the maps for free, so these people dont seem like the ones who'd screw you over on value.
You mustn't have the game then, or follow the game in any way, Behemoth is the fourth monster from the tier 4 DLC that was released in March this year, he has the biggest pool of health and armour, check him out.
I don't see why every game has to add features like a story or extra game modes when they have nothing to do with what the developers want the game to be. I would rather have them put all their effort into the one game mode which is what the game is meant to be than add extra gimmicky game modes so that narrow-minded kids feel like they get their money's worth, even though it's a worse game overall.
also these close games where you were an inch away from winning are the best, itsno goos having an amazing hunter team absolutely demolishing a crappy player playing as the monster, thats no fun

If you're a complete idiot, yes the monnster will lose every time. The trick is to keep hidden as long as possible. It will take an extremely good team to keep a monster hurting if he continues to run. Then again a lot of times you can easily win at stage 1 or 2 with decent playing

the 2 commentator gives hints and tricks how to win, if you look around you see that using an imperfekt vid and explaining the mistakes helps more then using an perfekt vid and just commentaiting the happenings. the best way is to show 1or 2 vids with highlevel content and show as main content vids with mistakes and tell how you can work around thouse

they should have made bigger maps and to be able to have 2 or more people playing as a monster and then add more hunters to balance it out.
I think it's a good idea to just go straight for the medic. Once you're level 2, or 3, you can actively ignore everyone else, and just hunt the medic 1st. Kill her fast, then bam, the rest go down easy.
if your versing high level players I reccomend going for trapper and medic
This shouldn't be a video, playing the monster is simple. Run, eat, and run until level 3 pretty much. Normally don't have any troubles unless there is a good team of hunters every once in a while, in which case just go wraith.
I wish this was an open world adventure game.

Seems all the live streamers/developers/let's play/paid advertiser just plainly don't want to show how much the monster can WRECK a team of humans. But I agree, if I haven't witnessed the pure wrecking ball monsters can be, from all these sources I see of gameplay the monster would appear weak.
It's called a learning curve, take the time to get good with it and you can destroy as the monster
if you aren't at least stage 2 you have absolutely no chance unless the hunters are completely new and suck at shooters in general

Archie M Ticehurst beta comes out in January, and from what I played during the alpha, this game seems very polished and very fun. Neat thing is that as DLC roles out, the entire player base will get the maps for free, so these people dont seem like the ones who'd screw you over on value.

This game is so much fun i love it
I don't see why every game has to add features like a story or extra game modes when they have nothing to do with what the developers want the game to be. I would rather have them put all their effort into the one game mode which is what the game is meant to be than add extra gimmicky game modes so that narrow-minded kids feel like they get their money's worth, even though it's a worse game overall.

It hurts how many mistakes are made in thise video, no worries, everyone makes them, but then it shouldnt be called dominating, when it's really just a fair fight back and forth.
If you're a complete idiot, yes the monnster will lose every time. The trick is to keep hidden as long as possible. It will take an extremely good team to keep a monster hurting if he continues to run. Then again a lot of times you can easily win at stage 1 or 2 with decent playing

i guess the only reason this game sucks is because i suck at it they should have like an extra easy mode for noobs cause losing all the time really sucks.

Daniel Clayton The problem is if you get a good team of players who know what they are doing they will trounce the monster if its the Goliath, no so much with the Kracken and would have had a tough fight with the wraith if the babies hadn't had cried and got him watered.

the 2 commentator gives hints and tricks how to win, if you look around you see that using an imperfekt vid and explaining the mistakes helps more then using an perfekt vid and just commentaiting the happenings. the best way is to show 1or 2 vids with highlevel content and show as main content vids with mistakes and tell how you can work around thouse
