    Wow! When you applied the tung oil and the grain exploded, what a fantastic view. You did a great job on this piece.

      Thanks Doug! It definitely popped with the tung oil! I think this is going to be my main "go to" finish from now on

    Absolutely gorgeous, towards the end it looked like a big slab of chocolate that you were turning ... waiting for the finish ... oh yes, a truly stunning piece 👍

    Tried to hollow out my first bowl yesterday with a spindle gouge...it didn't go very well. I just learned one needs a bowl gouge. Any recommendations for a first purchase? Thanks!

      I'm not sure if I'm the best person to ask, as I only have one, and I've never tried other brands, but I use a Robert Sorby 10mm or 3/8". This one came with my first lathe, and I've liked it from the start.
