Talking Sense Into Anti-Israel Jews

  • As we were tabling at San Francisco State University, we ran into 2 Jewish girls who were handing out anti-Israel flyers and approached them to have a respectful conversation.
Although a lot of what they said was just regurgitated information that has been force fed to them by today's growing wave of anti-Semitism, which preys on vulnerable Jews and forces them to turn their backs on their own people, we were able to have a genuinely productive conversation.
"Zionism" as a definition is the indigenous rights movement of the Jewish People to self-determine in the land of Israel, their native homeland.
"Zionism" put into practice is the most successful indigenous liberation movement that has ever existed where for the first time in history, a native people were successful in throwing out the colonial military forces (British) that were oppressing them and achieved their aspirations of reviving their civilization.
Too many of today's youth think that Zionism put into practice is the conflict and current status quo. Let me be clear. The word "Zionism" was created 100 years before the reestablishment of Israel. The ideas behind Zionism were born the second Judea/Israel was conquered by the Romans some 2,000 years ago.
The conflict and current status quo should never be blamed on Jewish independence, strength, or self-determination. The conflict and status quo is a direct result and the consequence of 3 failed genocidal attempts from the surrounding Arab countries to ethnically cleanse the Jews out of their land.
The conflict and status quo is a direct result and the consequence of too many failed Arab policies by leaders like Amin al-Husseini, Yasser Arafat, Mahmoud Abbas, Ismail Haniyeh and Khaled Mashal who have used their positions as dictators and done everything in their power to produce Palestinian suffering in order to manufacture a conflict that has resulted in the deaths of thousands, for the sole purpose of receiving billions of dollars in aid and getting their personal pockets filled.
For these so-called "leaders", it is functional to keep Palestinians suffering because it allows their scam to continue and their pockets to run heavy.
Israel is more powerful than the Palestinians, which gives it an even greater responsibility to change the conflict and status quo, but the consequences of the wars and policies of these Arab leaders do not get to be blamed on Jewish self-determination just because they failed to destroy Israel and driving the Jews into the sea.
If you go "all in" and you lose, you don't get to blame the person who “called” for your loss.

I'm also Jewish and my parents are from Russia. My grandparents told stories of getting bullied as kids for being ethnically distinct because their dark complexion and features were very clearly NOT Russian. My dad's DNA results came back as 99.8% Jewish, not Slavic. This girl doesn't know what she's talking about if she thinks her family were likely Russian converts (the chance exists but it's highly unlikely as Jews were a prosecuted minority in Europe).

99.8%. A lot of incest if that's true. Nearly nobody on this world is from one heritage. Alone the mongolians spreaded their DNA across the world.
I think you would disagree with the arier Germans. You would also disagree with China saying Tibet is China. Still you are blind to what the United Nations (the West) did to the palestinians in the Middle East. That's called being a hypocrite.

From an Israeli living in Israel I feel 99% of Israelis feel exactly what he said just he put it in words much better. Our voices aren't heard and the media puts us as racist genocidal warriors which is completely not the case. I have nothing against palestinians but we consider this our homeland as well and many of us really do have no place to go. It feels like the whole world is against our existence be in antisemitism or condemning the biased media on what we do but all we want is a safe place where we can live peacefully in our homeland without having to watch our backs that someone will come and stab or attack us in any way just because we're jews. I don't want anything bad to happen to the palestinians but the terrorist attacks and conflict has pushed our government and army to do things it really doesn't want to do.

The Roman general Pompey conquered Syria and the Land of Israel in 63 BCE. Some of the Jews revolted against him, he was a people who invaded the land of Israel even before the people of Israel left Egypt. The name of this people was "Philistines." It was also written in the Bible. They conquered the Land of Israel. This is the name that the Romans called the Land of Israel, in order to humiliate the people of Israel. They also called Jerusalem "Aelia Capitolina" and also the city "Shchem" mentioned in the Bible, called Neapolis. There is no Palestinian nation, there has never been a nation like this, you ask who was the prime minister of Palestine? You will not find out who its ministers were, what currency is there? Graves, coffins, and more ... There is nothing and nothing that belongs to a people called Palestine. This is the reality, and whoever thinks differently must prove it. The Arabs / Muslims conquered the whole area. And after 2000 years, as promised in the Bible, he returned to his land from all over the world. Anyone who has preserved his Judaism for 2000 years has come to this land. There are Jews from Germany, Jews Jews from Egypt, Yemen, Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, France, Sweden, etc. This is a great miracle, and whoever does not understand then I am sorry for him ... especially if he is a Muslim because the Koran says that this land belongs to a people The Book.

@@ryderwilson7955 Let me tell you some important things I learned from ancient Jewish writings. The word ARAB in Hebrew is an evening. As the evening is black, so in the same place that Arabs are, it is named after the black liquid, which is the oil. Esau took Ishmael's daughter, and they are one family. And Esau received a blessing from Isaac that in his land would be a lot of oil.
In fact, all the Arabs came from one place called Arabia. Muhammad and Islam have conquered all countries like: Egypt Yemen Libya Morocco Algeria Tunisia Jordan Syria Lebanon Iraq and more ... . In all of North Africa the barbarians are the original inhabitants. We Jews have the Bible that all three religions believe is original, the Bible is the basis of the New Testament and the Koran. Everyone acknowledges this.

So how did we all get back together in 48? from all over the world ? Who did that ? You want to read what is written in the Bible, if I show you that God promises the people of Israel that he will gather them all and they will immigrate to the land at the same time, what will you say? And if I prove to you that it is written that only after the land becomes a desert that does not grow anything (and so there were only diseases and every Jew who came here returned to his land) and after the people of Israel return then everything will bloom, and the land will produce fine fruits, what do you say?
All the promises that God has promised to the people of Israel are written in the Bible, just have to look into your eyes. The fact that we are all here after 2000 years as one people is a miracle.
All over the world came with exactly the same Torah scroll, with the same number of letters within the Torah scroll. Yes .... a Jew from Germany, and from Poland brought a Torah scroll just like those who came from Yemen, and from Morocco. We have tefillin, and mezuzah, which reads verses from the Torah in it, you also came from all over the world with the same form and the same scripture and the same verses and the same number of letters, do you understand what I am talking about ?!

By their own blind hypocritical logic, if Israel annihilated Palestine and 410 years went by, it would no longer be an atrocity.
One can't get an ought from an is, nor have any objective knowledge of the limits of the possible. If a political programme has no TELOS beyond power, if it is only concerned with what is possible and fails to analyze the possible under the aegis of the just, then not only is it corrupted by ignorance, it is, in all likelihood, actively working against the common good of humanity. If one cares about justice, one cares about justice for all human beings. If one doesn't care about justice for all human beings, and one talks about justice, one is a phony. I would say your biggest barrier is the intersectionality thing and the oppressor/oppressed narrative that students seem to be getting taught. The mindset basically has no nuance and is designed to divide people along some totally nonsensical lines.
People who use their reason and study history without a pre-defined view passed on to them will say that there are good Israelis and bad Israelis and there are good Palestinians and bad Palestinians and that context matters. However the intersectionality paradigm is a strange view of the world which claims that anyone with all the power is by default evil and needs to be destroyed. It also claims that anyone with very little power is automatically the victim so anything they do is an act of resistance. They don't care that the reason there are security barriers is between Israel and the Palestinian areas is because of suicide bombing attacks or that the reason the IDF is in Gaza is to get Hamas who committed the worst atrocity against the Jews since the Shoah, they just say the wall is an apartheid symbol and that the IDF are committing genocide.
Looks like you are not getting all that far in the minds of these gaslit kids but it's like Jenga. If you pull out one block the whole tower collapses. So hopefully you sewed a seed. I admire your patience achi. I would have struggled to not get very annoyed.

This makes a lot of sense, and I appreciate the healthy discussion, however your definition of zionism is completely different than what the majority of “pro Palestinians” have understood zionism to be for years and years. From my eyes as a Palestinian, zionism is essentially colonization. Jews and Palestinians have lived together peacefully as neighbors long before the holocaust, it was when Zionists started wanting the land to call their own that is the root of the problem for me. So yeah I do consider myself anti zionism, but to say I’m anti semitic is a stretch being that I love and advocate for my Jewish brothers and sisters and believe they have a right to live just as I do.

He is an influencer mot an intellectual. I know he means well, but I don’t think what he speaks is for the greater good rather then for his own good.

@Marilyn Monroe yes and if you have someone feeding you how to think and feel it can be taken as your own thoughts vs. analyzing what exactly is going on. From a media standpoint when I watch this, especially towards the end (where he has to explain to you what actually happened) I find that to be disingenuous and also question his line of work. We can go on all day about this - I just don’t like how he intentionally discredits this women and makes it seem as something it’s not.

Who Are You Words of deceit. First off, Jew is by belief not flesh and blood. This is easily proven by Jacob and Esau. They were twins, so how could Jacob BECOME ISRAEL? By faith. By promise. 2ndly, the Israel of God isn’t of this world, which is why the Israel of God, was supposed to bring the LIGHT OF THE GOSPEL to all nations and convert people to Jews spiritually! The idea of a Jew being by “flesh” is actually a false Catholic teaching which makes the flesh of Jesus God. God is a Spirit, not flesh. The whole claim to the “land” was it was promised to the patriarchs by Faith. Faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not seen.
And if you want to keep the claim that Jew is by flesh and blood than Esau and all of his descendants are so-called Jews too!
The problem you have is the actually BIBLE.
      Esther 8:17 (KJV)
And in every province, and in every city, whithersoever the king's commandment and his decree came, the Jews had joy and gladness, a feast and a good day. And 👉🏾many of the people of the land became Jews👈🏾; for the fear of the Jews fell upon them.

Rudy is reasonable - even if your debate skills do not point at real conversation, rather than a flash conversion - and I get his point. What he wishes for is what the entire world wishes for, but it implies no predominancy shall be present in that land. I really hope Israel and Palestine could be an example to the entire world, rather than the hate-soaked powder keg it currently is.

On the subject of not being allowed a space in the conversation - of being deligitimatised before even being heard - I've also experienced that, as a pro-life Christian who cares about the lives of our youngest and most vulnerable fellow human beings.
Recently, I read the statement: "Last year, abortion was once again responsible for the most deaths worldwide".
    How sobering is that?
    In Proverbs 24 v 10 - 12, I read:
    "If you forbear to deliver them that are drawn toward death, and those that are ready to be slain;
If you say, 'Look, we didn't know', does not He who ponders the heart consider it? And He who keeps your soul, does He not know it? And shall He not render to everyone according to his works?"
Surely, we all have a personal responsibility to love our neighbour as we do ourselves? In fact, the One who said to do that also called on His followers to love our enemies.
But of course, that's only possible as we seek the help of the Almighty to change our own hearts.
May we desire that, for the good of all of us.
