Main Bag (Pink Part in Video) 1:40 Slip knot, Ch 56 R1: (In the back loops of the chains) 55 slst (55). Ch 1, turn R2: (blo, (back loop only, the one furthest from you)) 55 slst (55). Ch 1, turn R3~13: (blo) 55 slst (55). Ch 1 and turn after each row 7:09 I don't speak Korean, so I don't exactly understand what she says after these steps, but she seems to be pointing out the columns formed by the turned stitches (like how sc done in rows will form 'bumps' every two rows) and counting. I think she counts 6 columns, and points out the difference/s between the front of the piece (resembles knitting/has the 'v's going down it) and the back. Just make sure your item looks like her's ig lol 9:01 (Still connected to the previous piece) Ch 56 R1: (In the back loops of the chains) 55 slst (55). Ch 1, turn R2~13: (blo) 55 slst (55). Ch 1 and turn between rows. (The same as the previous 'strip' made) Repeat these same steps to make all the 'strips'. (If your first yarn ball/skein runs out, she shows how to add in your next one at 11:10 and how to hide the ends at 12:53 ) You want four 'strips' in total. After the end of R13 of the fourth strip: Ch 1, and turn the work so the 'front' is facing down. 13:53 R1: Working along the top of the strips (on the side they're all connected to), 7 slst in between each column of the strips (best to look at video to be clear on what to do) ( 14:06 ) . Place a stitch marker in the very first slst You should end up making 7 slst along the top of each 'strip', and have 28 slst total. Turn the work so that the top (where you were just working) is furthest from you/facing away from you, and the bottom is closest to you ( 17:10 ). The back of the strips/piece should be facing up/the front should be facing down. Fold the bottom up so that the strips all align at the top. ( 17:22 ) It's a bit hard to explain, but watch the video to get a visual. Your hook should already be in the right-hand corner, so pick up the bottom of that same strip you'd just worked across, and put your hook through the right-hand corner of it. You need to put your hook in through the front so that your bag will sit properly, watch the video to be sure you did it right. ( 17:43 ) Don't put it inbetween the columns like the slst earlier, but in the actual column/corner (again, watch what she does lol). Slst, then 6 more slst (put them in the column gaps like before, except skip the first gap because of where the first slst is (again, watch video)). ( 18:16 ) (The first and last slst will both be put into the corner/into a column instead of inbetween for all strips) 7 slst across the tops of all the other strips, which should connect everything together at the top when you're done. At the end of the last slst/strip, slst that to the first slst that the marker was placed in earlier. Ch 1, and turn. R2: (blo) (Place marker in first stitch) 56 slst (across the top of the bag, which should now be all one piece/connected) (56). Don't slst in last stitch, instead skip it and slst to first/marked stitch. Ch 1, turn R3~5: Same process as R2. (blo) 56 slst, marking first stitch and skipping last in order to slst to first marked stitch at the end of the row. R6: 56 slst (through both loops this time). Mark first stitch. Skip last space and slst to first/marked. Ch 1, and cut yarn. Pull through to secure it. Weave in your ends. White Strips/Pieces (Make 3) 27:57 Slip knot, ch 66 R1: (into the back loops of the chain) 65 slst (65). Ch 1, turn R2~13: (blo) 65 slst (65). Ch 1 and turn in between rows At the end of R13, when the strip is done, ch 1 and cut, leaving a long yarn tail. This tail will be used to sew the strips together, so beware of that. Again, make 3 :) Bag Assembly 29:25 From here on, you'd probably be best watching what she does. I'm still gonna write down what I can, but make sure you watch what she does so that nothing is misinterpreted :) 29:26 Weave the white strips in between the pink ones, going over, under, over, under etc. 29:43 Use a stitch marker or a safety pin to clip/pin the two ends of the strip together. 29:47 Weave the next one in, starting with the opposite movement to the first (i.e. if you started with the white going over, now it should start by going under). Go over, under/under, over until it's all weaved in, then pin the ends again. Do the same for the last strip, starting it the same way as the first (over or under). 30:43 Grab your yarn needle, and start sewing the white strips together at the ends you pinned using the long yarn tails from earlier. I'm not sure what stitch she uses, but she goes through the column gaps, pulls it tight, and goes through the next gap in the same direction. I'm sure it won't exactly matter what you do here, so long as it's sturdy and you don't kind how it looks. Secure your thread, and weave it in. Cut excess. Weave in the other end. Move the seam so that it's hidden by the pink part. 32:45 Repeat this process for the other strips. Bag Strap 33:17 She uses two strands of yarn, feel free to use either both colours or just one, or any other colour yarn you have I honestly don't know the term for what she does here, so I'm likely describing it wrong, but oh well. 33:50 Make a slip knot, but leave a long yarn tail. Ch 2 Sc into first ch I think it's the second ch, but watch video ( 34:12 ) to make sure you have it, but insert hook into this space and sc 34:56 At this point, you should see two parallel lines of yarn (because this is using two strands, you'll see two lines of two strands each, but watch the video to see what I mean), and insert hook into both. Sc Continue sc into the parallel lines to create the strap. When you're happy with the length of the strap (make sure to try it on the bag similar to how it will be attached, described below), slst through the parallel lines instead of sc Ch 1, and cut yarn, leaving another long yarn tail Thread your yarn needle with the tail, and prepare to attach the strap to the bag This is also hard to explain, so watch the video ( 37:31 ) Basically, go to the short 'side' of the bag, and find the space inbetween the front and back pink panels, above the white strip but below the bag's top/edging. Put the needle through this gap (it shouldn't be that small), and pull the yarn through until the strap has come through fair enough for the end of the strap to come back over the top of the edging. Again, watch the video. 37:53 Sew together, going through both sides of the strap multiple times. Secure your thread, weave it in, and cut excess. Do the same for the other end of the strap. And you're done!!! You can add a fastener or closure clasp or something else if you want, but the bag itself is done! This is mostly for myself, so I could come back to this and make this pattern in a slightly easier way, but I hope it'll help someone else too. Sorry if there's any formatting errors, I'm writing this on my phone haha
Hey... Loved the bag. I saw your reel on Instagram and loved it sm. I just have one request...Can you please add english subtitles for non korean speakers. It would be greatly appreciated ❤
you have the whole video of her showing it of how to make it and you have abbreviations in the upper right corner...what more do you need... not everyone speaks english and not everyone needs to. if you are a beginner and only speak english then go to channels that have more in depths tutorials in your language, youtube is full of them. take care.
Can someone give me the size and stitches amount of a bigger version of this bag?? Like if I want a bag of ~30cm height and ~25cm width, how many chains will I need and how many strips will I need with how much width??
