What sets Anderson’s apart from other instrument retailers is they show that they can actually kill it musically and that they enjoy their job. Rather than just sell, sell, sell-buy, buy, buy. Showing all of these cool things you can do as a musician is more persuading to buy than an infomercial.
Great idea. With guest slots for any world class players in town during the year for a ‘Captain Meets’ interview... Robben Ford or Josh Smith on an Andertones track would be awesome.
I just listened to this 5 times in a row and I will not be able to get this out of my head. I am sad there is not a full album of this line up. Also, Meg Birch... not only does your voice kill but seeing how much you're into this performance only makes it that much more enjoyable. I also love Lee's lead work on this. This song slaps!
4:28 shows that he's playing a Squier Jazz Bass. It proves that you don't need expensive gear to get great tone. Everyone killed it with this track. Waiting to see another one soon!
This was amazing!!! Pete is fantastic, the feeling, the phrasing, just fantastic and Ash Soan is by far my favorite drummer, the groove this man has is from another world!!
@Andertons Music Co Thank you, thank you for what you do for this community. This is just awesome. Happy holidays & best wishes for the new year. God bless & be good.
I literally just watched this three times in a row and I still want to keep listening to it. This is one of the best covers I’ve ever heard. When a band can dramatically improve upon the original, that is some serious talent. And Meg Birch? That voice! Yes! 🔥
Excellent !!!! great work everyone Megs vocals!!! i'd buy an album of covers, nice to see the purple tele, Lees Chapman and Petes (Pauls) PRS make an appearance !! More please !!
@Lee Anderton- I am impressed at how you have innovated with your video concepts to stay relevant to today’s musicians. All the shows with Capt and Chappers, then Sounds Like and Capt Meets , and now this! You could have just been content running a successful guitar shop in the UK, but you started this channel, and I am so glad you did - here’s to a rocking 2020! Cheers!
Oh c'mon f'fuhs'ache! I'm new to Andertons "Online" (Yeah, Yeah, Yeah). Captain! Oy y'pillock! This is brilliant lad. Brilliant. More dammit. More "Andertones". This is really good stuff. No brainer. More!
I agree with others about the programmed cymbals and toms. And to me the snare sounds really shit, too boomy and sterile. A boring modern pop song anyway.
I thought the snare sound fit the song perfectly, and the tom riff was so far back in the mix as to just provide some ear candy dynanics. I thought it all served the song. If you don’t like the song, you’re not going to like anything.
I want to hear an original song for the sake of Megs fantastic vocal talent. She deserves it so much. But this was a damn good cover. Be great to hear Dua sing with a proper live band like this one.
I really like the original, it has an old school Daft Punk disco/funk vibe. You guys crushed it with this cover, solos were awesome, vocals on point, amazing rendition.
...Can't stop listening. I love this. And the Maxi Priest one. I can't seem to get enough. Really well played, all of you, and a very sweet video representation. It's a pleasure to watch and hear a group of musicians make something unique. And better than the original.
Keep up the good work. Pete is such an amazing player and inspiration to keep playing when it is difficult to pick up the guitar. Lee had some awesome playing in there too.
Great individual performances all around. Not sure what gets my blood flowing more. Normally, it's Pete's playing. But damn, that air-sealed bass groove though. Very nice, guys.
What a great team effort! I've never heard the song before, and I don't particularly care to hear the original. Damn that girl can sing.... always so nice to see how far The Captain has progressed over the years... Well done all, from a quite warm Sydney at 5a.m.
Really great stuff, I enjoyed it! Watching someone else cover the bass line to this inspired me to buy a bass - early days yet but I think I might be able to play this in about 5 years time!
Lee and Pete: We brought our custom shop guitars, valve amps and fancy pedals.
Rocco: I'll do just fine with this Squier
That vocalist RIPPED it up. Map props to her (and the rest of you, too!). :)
Every time I see that Purple Tele ..things happen.
It's called a hard on
The ... Makes that comment so much more funny lmao
It's called C-U-U-U-U-U-M.
The fizz , I believe is what it's called.
That comment is 100% True.

NY 2020: Do more covers, make an album out of it, sell it and donate profits to charity! I’m buying!!
I second that.
Great idea. With guest slots for any world class players in town during the year for a ‘Captain Meets’ interview... Robben Ford or Josh Smith on an Andertones track would be awesome.
Why would they need to donate profits to charity? This confuses me. All these people have bills to pay. Really, they do.
Good idea
@SCIENCEoverRELIGIONS I'm sure after a few weeks of hard work you donated your whole paycheck to charity...
Anyone doubt that a Squier J bass is a full-fledged professional instrument after watching this?
I was noticing the same thing! People shit on the brand but just listen to that groove and sound
@@maverick519 The mid and high level Squiers are good instruments now. Have been for some time. Entry level ones still kinda suck tho.
It's a vintage Japanese JV Squier. They are really sought after and go for more than £1,000.
@@mike2tone Better than a Jazz USA.
@@killianhgrl4728 Having played many of both types, I think so.
the fact that you always have Rocco Palladino playing with you guys is wow .........
Not complaining...but where's other Lee?
@@nightwishlover8913 Honestly I feel the same, gotta give all about the bass some coverage
@Fluffy Bunnykins I believe he is.
Fluffy Bunnykins yes he’s the son.
Surely this is their foot in the door to get JM for a Captain Meets....!!!!
Never in my wildest imagination would I have thought Captain would be ripping a solo on a Dua Lipa song. Beautiful cover from the band!!
Meg was fantastic here. Pete just demonstrated his class in his natural habitat along side Lee and the others. Great sounding tune all round. 👍🇦🇺🐨
Well done everyone.I love how pete used the prs that paul gave him
Yes Yes Yes been waiting since the “Close to You” song . Meg Birch is absolutely incredible she’s killing it on the Vox . Nicely doné Andertones Band
There is so much talent at Andertons that you can have multiple bands all equally as great. You can't forget about Nathan, Lee and Tayler either!
And Rabea!
The fellow with the tele is a beast.
Just awesome! Love it, great version, awesome playing from all and awesome vocals!
Cheers man!! Need to get you on one this year 🤘🤘🤘
Wtf? A world class rhythm section on an Andertones recording. Love it!
I just listened to this 5 times in a row and I will not be able to get this out of my head. I am sad there is not a full album of this line up. That looks like fun. Cracking tune guys. Love the smiles that go with it.
Watched this 4 times now, can't get enough of it, great arrangement and fantastic singing, more please more more more.
Ian Martin I’m with you on this n feel they gotta do an album
Man, this is FUNKY AS HELL! ! ! Mad props to the whole crew, especially Meg with those silky smooth vocals, go'on get'it girl...
4:28 shows that he's playing a Squier Jazz Bass. It proves that you don't need expensive gear to get great tone. Everyone killed it with this track. Waiting to see another one soon!
It's a Squier JV bass made in Japan. They go for more than £1,000. Nevertheless, Rocco can make any bass sound good.
Wow, this just proves how amazing some pop songs can get when some musical people cover it!!
Ash Soan and Rocco Palladino on rhythm duties too - mega!!!
That bloke in the hat isn't bad on that piano is he. Nice playing Jack
After many months of Corona lock down, I went to watch this video for the 3rd time... and it sounds better every time!
In tune vocal, much rarer than you’d think! Thanks for sharing.
TASTEFUL, every single thing, impressive. Thank you for that
the PRS solo was just the right fit, felt so good!
What a Wonderful singer Meg is , more please, when’s the Album coming out Andertones ,,,,,,,,,.?
Why have I only just seen these cover videos? Keep it up. Love it.
Jack is such a wonderful player.
Thanks so much for such a lovely comment mate. Wishing you all the best X
Jack Duxbury your an inspiration mate. On many levels :)
Thanks RUclips - set reminder on and it informed me that the stream had started 6 minutes ago.....just in time to watch the end! D'oh!

That’s as funky.....as a very funky thing. I particularly love Pete’s funky popping and rhythm chips on beats 3 & 4
Magic happens. That/this is simply lovely.. IMO as good as anything I have heard on most radio shows.
Well done all. Nice job.
BtB
Awesome!!!!
Oh c'mon f'fuhs'ache! I'm new to Andertons "Online" (Yeah, Yeah, Yeah). Captain! Oy y'pillock! This is brilliant lad. Brilliant. More dammit. More "Andertones". This is really good stuff. No brainer. More!
Love the drum kit. All you need. Everyone sounds great.
and then they went and programmed in crash cymbals, and cheesy sounding toms.... SMH.
@@dustinthiessen i had the same thought. everyone sounded amazing and then they dumped some sampled drums. Glenn Fricker must be rolling in his grave.
notarealperson87 Rest in peace glen

Very Nice. Pete, you sound great on that PRS!
My New Year's wish - an Andertones tour in 2020! 🎸
Holy crap guy's, that is easily better than anything on the radio right now.
When you've got a full album you can just shut up and take my money.
I want to hear an original song for the sake of Megs fantastic vocal talent. She deserves it so much. But this was a damn good cover.
Be great to hear Dua sing with a proper live band like this one.
She has done some awesome performances with a live band, look up her BBC live lounge stuff.
Meg just KILLED it on The Voice UK a few hours ago!
I especially love that phantom cymbal. 👍🏻😆🎼🎵🎶🎶
Well spotted! ;-)
I really like the original, it has an old school Daft Punk disco/funk vibe. You guys crushed it with this cover, solos were awesome, vocals on point, amazing rendition.
MORE! ALBUMS! TOURS?! I'm excited 👍
best cover of dua lipa i've ever seen
Peter and Lee, great sound and play.
*_how amazing, greetings from Brazil_*

I love this version. Every time I hear the original, I go to listen to this one. It’s playing in the background at the gym right now. 😂
The whole is really nice, a good groove. Meg Birch's voice is a really good choice. I share on my FB.
Stellar job to everyone involved. This is Ace
I mean ... you are ALL amazing! Can't wait for the album! ❤️
One of my favorite things on youtube
We're dancing....love it!
Great job guys! Pete, beautiful playing as always! 👍🏻
The Yamaha Grand sounds lush under the control of Jack.. plus big shout to the guys who shot the video well done!
That purple tele tone is epic.
I've been watching covers to this song all night and this was by far my favorite! Better than the original! Thank you!
Keep up the good work. Pete is such an amazing player and inspiration to keep playing when it is difficult to pick up the guitar. Lee had some awesome playing in there too.
That was brilliant! You should definitely do more. Great cover Andertones👏 😁
Awesome singing, great bass, supercool snare, well done 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Great, great, great cover!!! Congratulations.
Nice playing boys and great vocal
Bass and rhythm section is inspiring, the rest is like topping on the rhythm great recording well done from one who records a lot.
Great job guys! And the vocals were excellent. Loved the minimalist drum kit, too. This is a win.
Great individual performances all around. Not sure what gets my blood flowing more. Normally, it's Pete's playing. But damn, that air-sealed bass groove though. Very nice, guys.
LEE "THE FOCKER" ANDERTON! Great playing man!
Can’t go far wrong with that rhythm section .. superb effort
Amazing, simply perfect. Amazing guitar sounds. Love it. M O R E
the drone shot intro sets the tone and feel. what an adventure. well done Lee, well done. Ü ♫
There need to be more of these! You guys are great! If there was an album I'd buy it.
Peter Cane me too
Great music! The fact that it looks like you had a blast doing it only makes it that much more enjoyable! Well done, Andertones! =)
This made a Dua Lipa song actually enjoyable 😂👍Great playing by some of Andertons many legends!!!
Love seeing Pete having a take on a funky guitar arrangement for the song, interesting to compare his choices to Tim Pierce's!
Drums and bass absolutely killed that :) :) Awesome :)
More of this please.. no more to say than just MORE!!
What a great team effort! I've never heard the song before, and I don't particularly care to hear the original. Damn that girl can sing.... always so nice to see how far The Captain has progressed over the years... Well done all, from a quite warm Sydney at 5a.m.
Some massive talent on display here. Very groovy! All my toes are tapping.
Every guitar tone was just spot on and the drums sounding massive!
Sounded awesome! Hope to see more from this band!
Holy shit this is awesome. Please do more! And make an album too! This was fantastic
I've been bumping this track non stop lately, and this cover is great!!
Great seeing Ash play again...haven't seen him since the Del Amitri days. Twisted was my favourite of their albums as well.
Really great stuff, I enjoyed it! Watching someone else cover the bass line to this inspired me to buy a bass - early days yet but I think I might be able to play this in about 5 years time!
Slight coincidence but Tim Pierce done a great video about adding guitar parts on this tune a few days ago. It was brilliant!
Capt'n was in the pocket! Nice work. Beautiful
Cannot believe just found this Ash is a pure groove machine
Wow! What a band! Jesus! I want a cd please
Sweet intro and fantastic job
Awesomely beautiful! Congratulations for totally aceing it again to all!
You guys are super talented keep making more of these videos.
The Purple Tele (AKA "The PeteCaster") is a cursed tool...full of magic. Awesome work guys, good production!!
Brilliant! Plz do more of these!
Spectacular!! Keep up the good work, guys! So much quality !!!!
Been looking forward to this since you first announced it. You definitely did not disappoint. First class, everyone. More, please.
Holy shit. This is amazing
