A conversation with Alan Rider about Mummies and Madmen and more, April 2024

Alan Rider (Adventures in Reality, Stress, Dance Naked, Senestra, etc.) talks about the recent Mummies and Madmen CD reissue of a cassette that first appeared on cassette in 1984. The CD has recently been joint-released by Fourth Dimension Records' subsidiary Winter Hill Recordings and Adventures in Reality. In the conversation, Alan illustrates the setting in Coventry at the time for such music to have been produced. True to form, we also meander into other areas but hopefully this will be of interest if you enjoy some of the more obscure contributions to the post-punk/industrial landscape of the time and/or the concomitant DIY culture which can still be felt now.
