  • Did you know that this Arrow Dynamics custom looping coaster was designed by Alan Schilke? He's the designer of all the new RMC (Rocky Mountain Construction) coasters like Outlaw Run at Silver Dollar City, Goliath at Six Flags Great America, Wicked Cyclone at Six Flags New England, Medusa Steel Coaster at Six Flags Mexico and Lightning Rod, the launched wooden coaster at Dollywood.

    this may not look tall, or fast. but let me tell you. that first drop is everything you could want, and more. and I've rode Fury325, and this first drop still takes EVERY bit of air from your lungs out. it's amazing. the g forces on this thing are incredible. and to be an Arrow, it's one of the smoothest I've ever rode.

    • @CBLounge2112
      @CBLounge2112 9 лет назад +1

      Docktor Jim Yes sir, the loss of Log Jammer was a TOTAL BUMMER, that was one of the best log flume rides out there, a total classic and a HUGE part of my growing up, at least Jet Stream is still operating!! I was born and raised in Newhall and Magic Mountain played a huge role in my childhood and teen years...

    • @riparianlife97701
      @riparianlife97701 9 лет назад +3

      REEDSBUD Jet Stream is like a bad prototype for a flume ride, especially since they took out the racing drop. Knott's and Disney have great log rides with fancy animatronics, but the SFMM log ride followed the terrain so well.

      Arrow lives in in modern coasters though, just under a different name. They were a catalyst. I mean, without Morgan, The Phantom's Revenge wouldn't be the Phantom's Revenge. Just like how Alan Schilke is designing RMC coasters now. Arrow is all around us, they just don't go by Arrow anymore,

    Went to Dollywood around 2 weeks ago and rode everything but Wild Eagle (I'm too much of a chicken, lol) and this was my favorite coaster by far. Rode it a total of 3 times because that's all my fam had time for in the day, but I could have easily gone for another 10, 20 times. Hadn't ridden any rollercoasters besides very small family ones before going to Dollywood because I had a paralyzing fear of roller coasters for a long while. Got into the rollercoaster community, and got more interested in the logic/engineering/ride operations bit of roller coasters and my excitement just drowned any tiny amount of fear I had left. Now I know I'm a big fan of inversions (especially when they give you a little hang time) and I'm not terrified to go on new coasters anymore. Thanks for being part of my coaster journey :)

      Its too bad that the ship of having them already pretty going under had already sailed by the time Alan Schilke came up with this smooth arrow. If they had let him do more earlier it might have saved Arrow.

      "Smooth" as in smooth for an Arrow, or actually smooth? "Smooth" to me is like Millennium Force or a B&M wing rider. The camera seemed to shake around quite a bit in this footage.

      Anime Run I didn’t ride it when I went there because my cousin told me he got a migraine from it and I’ve heard a lot of things about this coaster some good and some bad. I guess it depends on what you think your into. I went on my first upside down roller coaster today (I’m 15 and it’s been a phobia) I went on the wild eagle one and it was a good experience. The first hill seems really scary (especially my first time riding I felt that drop feeling which I hate ) but after riding it again I stopped having that which made it more enjoyable. It has 4 inversions (2 loops and 2 corkscrews I believe) and I found it very enjoyable. It is a VERY smooth ride opposite of what I’ve heard from this one. It’s your choice though whether you want a more smooth ride or a ride that shakes you around more.

    The fake drop is probably one of the best things ever on this coaster. You’re thinking, “Oh boy, here we go. Wait, no drop? That’s kind of strange…” and then suddenly you’re barreling down the dark tunnel dropping, and it feels like you’re in that tunnel for _ages._

    This coaster is so fun! The only thing about it is that if you look down, you’re head will get stuck down for the entire ride. The loops don’t feel like loops at all. And it jolts you really badly when you’re coming in. If you haven’t rode it I 100% would suggest it! Just remember to keep your head up!

    This is very well profiled arrow- the only thing that annoys me is how badly profiled both the loops are, especially the first...

    • @cameron3320
      @cameron3320 7 лет назад

      The loops were meant to be like that. The first loop I think was to look more iconic. It's also a way better version of the traditional loop. The only plain loop I have ahead of it are Schwarzkopfs.

    • @harrh4528
      @harrh4528 7 лет назад +1

      Insane Coasters I mean in terms of banking and laterals. If you look at 1:30, the track is banked at around 30° when it should be as close to 0° as possible, allowing for a smoother loop

    • @cameron3320
      @cameron3320 7 лет назад +1

      Coasterfan3657 Yea that makes sense except for the smoother loop because personally this is the smoothest loop I've been on.

      You are aware that was completely intentional, right? The park event refers to it as a "spiro loop". Gotta remember, Alan Schilke designed this one.

      I agree. Whether people like their coasters or not, they can't deny that the modern steel coaster wouldn't be the same without Arrow Dynamics. To think, the designer of Arrow's newer coasters, Alan Schilke, now designs coasters for Rocky Mountain Construction. I bet that Arrow would be dominating the industry if they didn't go bankrupt...
