derryl texaga Well, i mean. I love Oasis and Blur, but Blur isn’t better than Oasis, but Oasis isn’t better than Blur. If you tell me to pick only one, fuck you
It's funny his idea about Rock killing Rock and Roll and people lazily wearing their guitars. Meanwhile, Oasis always were incredibly safe, conservative, middle of the road rock. Their music took no unexpected turns and had no risks to it. I have always suspected this is why they were always so full of "attitude" in their public personas, because their actual music was so safe and bland, they had to overcompensate. They're like the McDonald's of rock--billions served, no nutritional value. And on top of that, they were very unoriginal and derivative. They didn't present one original idea of their own all along. That being said, I still generally like Noel interviews, cus he can often be a funny fucker.
why are yall so sensitive about this?? he just expresses his opinions and it doesn't matter that all of it is negative, don't take him so seriously anyway
About Jazz, it's always the same shit when people talk about it. If it's not in a simple measure and if it doesn't stay in the same key all the time people suddenly don't understand it. The problem is most people don't even try, they don't try to understand it. Sure, Jazz isn't for everyone. But it's a bit like eating fries or mcdo all the time. Fries and mcdo are great, it's simple, it tastes good. But if you have it fuckin all the time and nothing ever chances you sometimes would like to have something a bit more. And if you're content with fries and mcdo than that's fine but if you're through with it and want something more then that's jazz for you compared to pop or most other radio music. Good jazz is music unshackeled, free from constraints (some jazz styles more than others especially post war era jazz). Pop music basically is music in a straight jacket with just a tiny bit of wiggle room for variation. Btw, you can instantly tell he knows shit about jazz. The way he speaks about it is like he's talking about pure free jazz, heavy avantgarde shit like what John Coltrane did in his later era. That's like me talking about rock in the craziest prog version available (the RIO movement, Zheul prog rock and shit like that) and then saying rock music is an unstructured mess of guitar sounds. In no way does Big Band or Swing music sound like Noel is describing. Even the more complex Bebop hot jazz is fast and exciting and you marvel at the mastery of the players and complexity of good Bebop. Or the very relaxing Cool Jazz sound, often very dreamy and chill. Or the crazy Miles Davis or Herbie Hancock funky Fusion Jazz sounds of the 70s. Just like you can marvel at the mastery of top guitar players playing a god like riff you can do the exact same with Jazz. John Cotrane masterly playing his sax so fast and switching between keys like a rabbit on speed with Giant Steps where even a great piano player like Tommy Flanagan has trouble keeping up. So much good stuff in jazz.
Only music at the end o the day innit, doesn’t matter.

@@EthanAndViolaVlogs to people who don't listen to those genres, like myself, there really isn't much of a difference. It's often interesting to hear Noel's opinions towards other bands and different types of Music. I agree with some of his opinions regarding other types of Music, but I'm afraid regarding jazz I don't. I think that if he really understood Jazz music he would change his opinion regarding it. Maybe if he listened to some of Miles Davis music he would possibly have a change of heart
Liam and Noel are probably the most important musicians right now because they're the only ones telling it how it is. "It's not about how load you shout, rock-'n'-roll is the way you talk the way you walk, how you smoke, how you drink, how fit your girlfriend is" it's genius and true.

@@chrissmith3668 I do agree with you. I don't like Noel I just like his music. Liam is the one I like and really respect but I have to agree with his point. Interesting topic, I feel this way about EDM and Rap/HipHop. There’s a few songs that I like, but it’s hard for me to call it “music” when neither plays an instrument.
If Noel's new album didn't have his name attached it wouldn't get 1 second of radio time, as for people wearing their guitar . . .Noel has to be the number 1 most boring guitar player ever to wear 1, i bet Noel's favourite colour is beige
Notice the way Noel pussies out and backed down when that woman mentioned that biggies girl was with her? Wasn’t as mouthy when he knew who would hear it 👀
He's entitled to his opinions, but just because he's an entertainer it doesn't lend more gravitas to those opinions. I like a myriad of musical styles, and predominantly lean towards the Rock genre (of which there are many sub-genres), and if it's got great melodies, hooks and energy I'll give anything a listen. Oasis were a great band, especially the first two albums, and apart from the odd tune, the Gallagher brothers post Oasis feels like they haven't moved on enough. Maybe they should listen to more differing styles of music for inspiration, and appreciate there's more to be inspired by than the Beatles? I agree that Rock'n'Roll as a musical movement is all but dead, but like Punk, it's more an attitude, a lifestyle, a mindset. Horses for courses.
When he is mocking jazz, he's only thinking of freeform jazz. Which, yes, I agree; it kind of sucks. But there are more forms of jazz out there. Smooth jazz is great. I love Dave Koz
70s fusion is fun, pretty much what you heard on 90s hip hop came from that genre. Sophisti-pop can definitely be interesting too which takes influences on jazz and 60s soul. Bebop and hard-bop have fast tempos which makes them interesting to hear and can be played at night clubs. May not be jazz but there's also jump blues which to me was proto-r&b but had a stronger jazz influence to it.
I like jazz but pretty much only as a piano, bass and drums trio like Chick's Akoustic Band and Bill Evans. Something relaxing about that sound. Also, love Buddy Rich's Big Band. They are definitely not all playing in different keys. Some really intense music.

Hold on are you seriously saying Stairway to Heaven is metal?
he only did that first Oasis album you can forget the rest
rythmosrythmos He did more than one idiot. The thing people need to forget about is you
lmao sureee
‘Live Forever’ story is brilliant and gives the song more depth now I know that... as poncey as that sounds!
He’s a bit clueless really...
Uneducated CHAV who got famous and rich!!!
Rich and clueless. Pretty standard really.
He's a pop musician, what do you expect?
He got it all wrong with heavy metal
What year was it that Noel started having his eyebrows done? I imagine it will correlate with the worsening of Oasis' music. We can maybe start referring to albums like Don't Believe the Truth and after as the "Post-plucking era".
Well spotted.
He gets his eyebrows done...😆
He should have stayed Lady Penelope's chauffeur.
What I like about this guy is that you never know if he's trying to be provocative or if he's just dumb. It makes his interviews pretty fun to watch : what stupid thing is he going to say next ?
So he basically disses all music genres.
Well, his hero Paul Weller is a huge jazz fan.
this is why i love blur instead of oasis
derryl texaga Well, i mean. I love Oasis and Blur, but Blur isn’t better than Oasis, but Oasis isn’t better than Blur. If you tell me to pick only one, fuck you
@@MozillaFireFox1967 at least blur evolved.
"i can't imagine why you wouldn't..........welcome any change....my friend"
He thinks Tool is metal...give it up my friend....lol
So basically he only likes his music?
FabricaPoop and the Beatles and T Rex and Stone Roses and Led Zeppelin and The Verve and some others
91lifetime23 u2
Bruce Springsteen
From a fella whose band member plays a pair of scissors.
At 3:50 he looks like a Thunderbird.
Yes he fucking does!
He clearly didn’t get the irony of the Nirvana song title. It was called that as a joke. Though it did turn out to be true, I suppose.
Surely Wes Montgomery’s band played in the same key? 😂😂😂
I loved Oasis but to be fair I've listened to more Jazz in last few weeks than any of Noels solo stuff for about the last five years.
Why is bugzy Malone in the thumbnail, grime or U.K. rap wasn’t mentioned once?
Noel seems to be describing just one kind of jazz but there are many different types. He should know that.
Lol so Oasis is a whole genre of its own then 😂
I mean....it kind of was in a way
I understand now why Liam hates him so much
About Jazz, it's always the same shit when people talk about it.
He is probably right about Jazz - I have listened to hours of it and Noel's description is spot on.
I agree, and I still love it
I still see oasis as pop or mega- soft rock. Compared to zeppelin or rolling or ac/dc when it comes to rock they’re a joke
Only music at the end o the day innit, doesn’t matter.
@@KR15MES that’s very true. I think they’re incredible, but I just struggle with them calling themselves rock, when they’re Brit pop. Also the joke about Jazz they copied it from Spinal Tap lol
I don't know man, listen to Bring it on down, headshrinker, Rock n roll star, Cigarettes and alcohol. If that isn't rock then what is it?
I’m more of a hard rock/metal fan myself but I think rock is a huge spectrum of genre so I don’t think it needs to be hard rock. Oasis is definitely a part of rock.
If you’re looking for complete approval for your taste in music you won’t find it from anyone. Forget what anyone else thinks about what you listen to and enjoy for yourself if you can groove to it
Rock n Roll is an attitude
terry miller So is Metal. Think of how people like Brian Johnson and James Hetfeild are about the music not the popularity. I suggest you watch thier interview. They are very humble people. Especially Brian Johnson.
R3dd1sh Ch33se easy now! Lol. I don't mean bad attitude. I don't think Noel is truly arrogant. I think be just goofs for kicks. I believe he is actually very humble when it comes to the music. I've always laughed anyway. He gives his honest opinion. Most popular music is contrived and just for money. Pretty much all he really says.
The funniest thing about this video (even though it is hilarious) are the fucking comments. I love all the genres he was ripping into. He's flat out triggered all corners of the music sphere. Legend.
Noel just described emo music. Not Heavy Metal.
Basically the same thing
joe poolton no. Elmo is sad and pathetic. Metal is about death, destruction, and British metal is about being evil and sometimes having fun.
@@EthanAndViolaVlogs to people who don't listen to those genres, like myself, there really isn't much of a difference. With all due respect to the genres, a lot of emo bands scream their lyrics and a lot of heavy metal bands scream their lyrics, they might be talking about different things, but a lot of the time it doesn't sound that much different, except the fact emo music is less "heavy" than heavy metal.
@@EthanAndViolaVlogs well nihilism basically sums up both but is more inclined to goth.
Hes got the right attitude, dont give a fuck what people think of you and dont give a fuck about what others do, enjoy yourself...
Hes right about country music
91lifetime23 Yeah BUT Noel plays country songs so he's full of it.
Hes right about it but i bet when hes drunk he loves to sing along to country roads, thats just a british rite of passage
I had a friend who killed himself in his 20s who got into smack was obsessed with Cobain. He would have been 50 now. Well said Noel!
We need English subtitles
Zamgoulen Haokip What you need is called « Education ».
Why?
of course a manc is here defending him, but i have to say... He's not very hard to understand ffs cmon. He's speaking very clearly
I have no problem understanding him saying that I’m from the NW of England 😎
Every one going on about it being in English, I've lived in Manchestervall my life and only the chavviest of chavs speak like this scruff
Not a pot to piss in but had a great fucking time✌🏽
Noel Gallagher lives in a very small box. 😂😂
He makes a distinction between rock and rock and roll which is just an arbitrary point that has no basis in reality. I love Oasis but I cant imagine how insufferable Noel must be to be in band with
@@chrissmith3668 I do agree with you. I don't like Noel I just like his music. Liam is the one I like and really respect but I have to agree with his point. However pointless you think it may be, it means something to me and probably a lot of other people. I certainly agree with him despite the fact I think he's a hypocrite. I can see where you're coming from though. Down to opinion I guess
it's actually a pretty shite philosophy honestly
Interesting topic, I feel this way about EDM and Rap/HipHop. There’s a few songs that I like, but it’s hard for me to call it “music” when neither plays an instrument.
If Noel's new album didn't have his name attached it wouldn't get 1 second of radio time, as for people wearing their guitar . . .Noel has to be the number 1 most boring guitar player ever to wear 1, i bet Noel's favourite colour is beige
I bet your favourite colour is shit brown because thats what your profile picture looks like.
Agree now.
That guitar on bringing it on down though....
Notice the way Noel pussies out and backed down when that woman mentioned that biggies girl was with her? Wasn’t as mouthy when he knew who would hear it 👀
CLASSIC heavy metal (sabbath/iron maiden etc) is NOT that bad
M. O.G. Agreed. Noel really should do his research before slagging off metal.
He's probably thinking of death/black metal.
Yeah! I was thinking that myself.....👍
I don't mind a bit of Black Sabbath, but other than them I can't fucking stand heavy metal either.
All Oasis songs literally sound the same
does gas panic, cigarettes and alcohol and she’s electric all sound the same? I must be tone deaf
I had no idea you could lose hair from your brows before your head as you get older!! Always learn something new with Noel!
When he is mocking jazz, he's only thinking of freeform jazz. Which, yes, I agree; it kind of sucks. But there are more forms of jazz out there. Smooth jazz is great. I love Dave Koz
Smooth jazz is to jazz what Christian rock is to rock.
Free jazz on the other hand, rules
1985cactus whatever that means
Acting like people didn’t die for gangster rap
