Not too many people mention, but Butcher’s psychotic ass screaming “SOMEBODY HELP US” was legit heartbreaking.
Karl Urban and Antony Starr are killers in every scene of this episode.
Yeah, I think it's because Butcher is always the confident one, he always knows what to do in every situation (not that it's always the right thing to do), but that was a situation that he simply had no solution to.
It was a well done scream. Just as good as homelanders "where... is.. MY SONN" scream lol

Even Homelander is like; “the racist stuff is a bit much, Stormfront”.
Did anyone else notice Homelander’s face whenever Stormfront was talking to Ryan about “white genocide”? Homelander had a look, just for a second, that he just couldn’t understand that ideology. Just a nice little touch from Antony Starr that adds a little layer to Homelander’s character. It’s as if the idea of him being hunted is so foreign to and beneath him that Homelander doesn’t agree entirely with Stormfront.
Well, he considers all humans as mere insects, regardless of ethnicity.
It shows that his dismissal of Stormfront's ideology is just as problematic. He doesn't agree neither does he understand it, yet that doesn't stop him from having a relationship with her.
He still is a supremacist.

By the way burned Stormfronts mumbling translates to a story how she took her daughter to a picnic under an apple tree.

Now, go back and rewatch the end of 2x07 - she makes eye contact with everyone as their head pops, even her assistant or whomever that was. PIcking and choosing and putting on a big show.
at 2:49 she is talking to the goverment offical she is telling the truth, Vaught did attment a coup and she the one doing it. It was alos a good way to probe for information if the govement had any evidence. Vaught is keepking their enemies close.
That's exactly why she sat down like she was in shock instead of leaving since she had to have eyes on target to pop. Plus, she definitely went on guard to possibly take him down when Homelander showed up during her public speech when he hallucinated killing the crowd.

The acting from Anthony when Stormfront is going on about "White Genocide" is so well done, in a fraction of a second his face goes from "that's right...that's right..." to "dafuq?!?". And it's so slight a lot of people miss it. He's such a fantastic actor.
I love how loud they played the sound distraction for Homelander. It made you understand how bad it was for him and Ryan. I know it's kind of painful with ear buds or whatever, but I really liked that demonstration.
Yeah, usually they’ll keep it low & we’ll just see the characters get affected. But they made it so the audience experience the same thing. Nice little detail.

I love how Hughie may be holding a resume at the end. Like under experience I can only imagine it saying something like...electronics shop, killed translucent, etc. And hobbies be like...Swimming with whales, having a superhero girlfriend, etc

I never realized how much I cared about Butcher... I was for real crying during many Butcher/Becca scenes in this one... outstanding season finale... and MAEVE was my hero of the episode
I think, for season 3, a Maeve headband would look good on you, as she was the MVP in this episode.
I cannot think of a more satisfying scene on TV than Stormfront getting her ass kicked!! So good. Roll on season 3...i think they are half way through filming now so I am guessing (hoping) early next year.

yes, Victoria was behind all the head explosions. that was the reveal at the end. that much was meant to be obvious. why she's doing it isn't as clear, but i think they stated it explicitly earlier in the episode; she's working for Vought. she said Vought was behind it, and i think she was telling the truth.
Did we see Stormfront die? She looked like all she needed is a Darth Vader overhaul to keep on hating.

Yes, it was Victoria. She's a super villain that's gotten into the political system. If you go back to the scene of the legal hearing, when a head explodes she's looking that way, so it appears to be limited to line of sight.

Your reaction never disappoints, especially during the girls-get-it-done scene! Imho, the season 2 finales of both The Boys & The Mandalorian are the best episodes of their series by a decent amount. So glad you've now caught up on both top-notch series!
This is an exceptional episode overall, and a great season finale... but what *REALLY* impresses me the most is Antony Starr's acting as Homelander here. His facial expressions, especially in the last third are phenomenal - you can literally see the waves of different thoughts and emotions washing over and overwhelming him. Also notice that afterwards, when he's giving a speech and the camera zooms in on him - he doesn't blink once and doesn't even move his eyebrows once - Homelander is completely withdrawn and on autopilot.
Antony Starr deserve all the awards for this episode.
Hell yes! 🤘🏽 I’ve been waiting for this one. I fucking LOVE Butcher. Antony Starr and Karl Urban were tremendous with their performances this season.

Okay Aunt Kazzy, this is a detail that most people missed. Notice that Victoria’s eyes were completely white when Alastair’s head exploded. She is the one making peoples head explode. Also, remember the intro of Episode 7 when the dude shot the cashier/store owner? That same dude was researching about Victoria Neuman in that intro (if you look closely at his computer). He thought he saw something in that store owner’s eyes that’s why he got scared & decided to shoot him the next day.

Victoria definitely was the head exploder at the end. Her eyes were glowing.
They mentioned a character who goes by the moniker "Nubian Prince" all the way back in S1E1. I think adding him to the roster makes two-fold sense: 1) in-universe, Vought are taking a clear anti-Nazi stance, so featuring two POCs on The Seven is doing wonders for their optics and, 2) it would be a beautiful nod to Chadwick Boseman since NP is basically a BP knock-off anyway.
Leave Black Noir comatose for a while for a potential "Psychotic Homelander satisfies his monstrous needs disguised as BN" subplot.
Thusly, The Seven could consist of:
- Homelander
- Maeve
- Starlight
- A-Train
- Nubian Prince and
- Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles' character)
with a vacancy for even more diversity, be it Latino, Asian or Middle Eastern.
I'm not championing diversity for the sake of it, either, since a show like "The Boys" would find exciting ways to play with such a new dynamic with two saboteurs (Maeve & Starlight), a twisted Captain America (Soldier Boy) and a morally upright king (Nubian Prince - if that's the backstory the press department wrote up for him).
The Deep should gradually become more competent and a tad more threatening. Maybe have him put together a team of his own for which he recruits Cindy, Eagle The Archer, Love Sausage (it's been confirmed that he survived) and some other misfits.
I just binged all of your reactions to The Boys. I really enjoyed watching and your cut-aways are great!!! I'm looking forward to future reactions. :-)

Way better than the too-on-the-nose Avengers End Game "girl power" scene was the Storm Front beat down.

In Endgame, they were trying to force all viewers some feminist supremacy and female power. It was so totally cringy!
In the Boys, they were trying to make me feel like all hope was lost when Stormfront was about to kill Annie and Kimiko. It was so totally awesome that I screamed "YEAH, B**CH, FEMALE POWER ON THE CHART!" when Maive came to the scene!
The only difference is easy to see. I loved every character on the Boys, but not on Endgame!

No release date has been announced yet for season 3, which is just killing me. It should be about in the middle of filming right now. Skullpop's, as I have nicknamed her, motivations beyond a power grab are still nebulous. It goes to form that Hughie should stumble into the middle of her machinations. Until then, we have Loki, What If, and The Book of Fett to keep us happy. Cheers, Kazzy!

it was actually stormfront who killed her...granted ryan kinda caused it when he shot the heat vision lol she had a good grip on her neck so im guessing the force from the blast made her pull a chunk out of her neck that caused her to bleed out

They didn’t show it but Ryan’s laser is probably out of control. Stormfront’s upper & lower extremities got vaporized while holding Becca. So it makes MORE sense that Becca got caught in that crossfire.

My two favorite things: Stormfront getting curb stomped and then getting Vadered by Ryan.
I would've appreciated Hughie stepping away from Annie for a while, still nurturing a platonic relationship towards her but mostly setting out to find himself, maybe even falling for Newman only for that to fall apart spectacularly as well.
in a way, edgar stan was, in his weird ways, protecting a-train from stormfront cause he knew stormfront would try to kill a-train if he got back in the seven.

Great reaction Kazzy! Very heartbreaking episode, very emotional. I think in the future if Homelander falls completely off the deep end, Ryan will be the only one that'll be able to stop him. I can see Ryan being more Superman like to counter Homelander's "I can do whatever I want" attitude". Seems Victoria Newman is a supe with her own personal agenda, she seems to be protecting Vought. She is the one who blew up everyone's head, I think she's working for Giovanni lol. Forget his name in the show, so I'll just refer to him as his real name haha. He seems to be one step ahead of everyone to protect Vought, Victoria is his inside person i'm guessing.
Can't wait for season 3! Should be epic. Glad Stormfront got hers. One thing they didn't explain seems with A-train all of a sudden his heart is fine? lol other than that little plothole, loved Boys season 2 as much as 1. Curious to see the newer Supes characters from the comics in Season 3, one of which Jensen Ackles Soldier Boy. He's essentially a parody of Captain America, where is Homefront an evil parody of Superman lol.
That is an interesting plot hole. Maybe they're not caring about his heart issue anymore because they were kind of coerced into taking back either A-Train or Deep. Maybe they didn't think they had much of a choice. I don't know...

The other one that I've seen a lot of people talk about is Victoria's power, notice at the end her eyes were turning white but every other case like the court room for example, her eyes were fine and did it seemingly effortlessly where the cult dude she had to concentrate more, some think possibly because of the farther distance but yeah that's odd too lol. Same lol season 3 will be wild I bet! Great reaction hehe.🥰💓

I only just realised, we seen in the past Homelander was unable to burn Stormfront, and his son now can. Clearly a set up to show he is in fact stronger than his dad, I totally missed this until just now.
I can't wait to see what Edgar does next season. He has zero fear, even while he is surrounded by unpredictable supes 24/7. Victoria seems to be making some sort of moves to benefit herself. But Edgar could be involved there too. I don't think Black Noir was killed by the Almond Joy, so I wonder how he will react in season 3. I could see a retaliation move against Maeve by Noir. I also want to see that escapee from the mental hospital (Cindy?) become involved in the series. Her "implosion" power seems like the antithesis of Victoria's "explosion" power.
My favorite part about Becca's death is that it's kind of similar to what happened in the comics because in the comics she died from giving birth to a super baby that is she was killed by her son.
Always entertaining Kazzy! Love the visceral reactions to the big key moments. You could have been wearing a cheerleader outfit for the fight sequence 😉 looking forward to more to come!

Just for a fun little rewatch of the hearing scene in episode 7 if you pay attention to miss Neuman she always looks in the direction of people before they die (with like 1-2 exceptions where shes just not shown at the time)

In the beginning of the episode Neuman said "It was Vought, It's a f**king coup." and then seeing it's her at the end has me thinking that she's working with/under Edgar and they're the ones doing the coup. Stormfront must had a lot of power in the company, like that offsite facility Lamplighter was at, and the fact she was trying to make a army of super white supremacist, I can see why Edgar and Neuman would try change things and start a coup. Can't wait for next season to see if theory is true and what exactly they planning cuz they blowing peoples head off so it isn't like they can justify there actions. Great Reaction!
It is unclear who Neuman is working for if she is working for the Government on her own agenda or if she is working for Vought. I am sure season 3 will tell us at some point, but it is yet to be seen if she is a danger to Homelander or he will kill her.

I know nothing, but I've heard rumors season 3 will be in early 2022.
Season 3 probably won't be out until 2022. They started filming season 3 last February. Season 2 took 10 months from start to finish. They are probably going to do an episodic release again. yeah everyone hated that they chose to release it that way, instead of all at once, but it makes them more profit. The show lasts longer which makes people think about it longer, talk about it longer, and able to make more videos about it. They can make trailers for each episode, get alot of views, and put ads on it while attracting more viewers and so on.
Thanks for the great reactions to season 2. The end of this episode was the first time I actually liked Butcher even a little. It will be so interesting to see how season 3 unfolds because, among many other reasons, I think Ryan is going to have some serious problems after what happened.

i thought Annie, with her elec based power would be able to absorb Stormfront's attack and reflect it back.
I think that would have been a great twist. There didn't seem to be any electricity nearby except maybe the hanger with the cars so I wondered where she was drawing her energy from. Being able to absorb and amplify Stormfront's lightning bolts would have been awesome. They have displayed Starlight's powers a bit inconsistently.
You should watch INVINCIBLE to hold you over until season 3 of The Boys. INVINCIBLE is like the Boys turned up to eleven. You will love it. the original comic was written by Robert Kirkman, the writer of the Walking Dead.

In the event of a supervillian attack, a superhero will rush to your location.. In this case, I think they should take their chances with the supervillian. The superhero is about 75% likely to kill everyone, enjoying every moment of it, and make up a cover story anyways.

Victoria Neuman blew up the head of the guy at end, and also the people at court. If you watch that scene in slow motion, you can see neumann looking at everybody before their heads blow up

in the comics stormfront was a man - they swapped genders and used it in a great way -

I'm sure Homelander would've fuck that up on his own eventually. All Butcher and Edgar did was speed things along.
