Well you guys made that look easy. Think I struggled coz was using the impact driver at a slight angle. Did you not feel you needed to cut a place in the skirts for the jacking point?
From what I remember no we didn’t cut anything, I sold the car a few years ago now. It was definitely easy on the ramp, and also not the first or last time we have fitted maxton items to a car I guess
@@1BlueGhost I have Skoda Octavia and I think that by Skoda is metal down there.. I want to build my Skirts but I'm afraid what will hapened after few years with the rust
They look super light! Are they? Cause I have an MK7 gti w golf r side skirts. I’m afraid since the the skirts aren’t factory assembled that the Maxton diffusers will pull them down, but if the skirts are very light maybe I’ll be ok. Car looks sick!
I’ve ordered some different maxton side skirts, looks like yours have some sort of adhesive to help applying it. Mine are telling me to use glue. What glue should I use ?
I purchased the tape separately, it’s just 3m tape and seems to work well. Mine also suggested glue but decided against using. Some sort of gorilla glue or no more nails type stuff may work.
@@Holliana8647did you glue them onto the actual car or onto skirts already on the car? Because I haven’t got plastic skirts on the car already so I’m gonna need to drill through metal to attach them but I’m not sure wether to use glue
@@James.527 straight on to car, my car didn’t have skirts. Tiger seal alone on side skirts will not be enough, my maxton ones have been on a few months now and that’s just with about 10 self tapping screws in each side straight into the metal underside of the car.
These maxton add ons are just about passable on black and grey cars. On any other colour car it literally looks like the car has been driven through halfords covered in superglue.
Very helpful, sticking mine one me next day off. Definitely going to use the dbl sided rather than glue now nice one 👍

@@1BlueGhost cool thanks 🙏
Looking good 👍
Thanks 👍
Thanks for the tutorial! Looks great
Thanks!!
1Blue Ghost for the front splitter, did you have to take the bumper off for fitting? Or was it drilled straight up into the bumper?
AkashBhambra yes I took the front bumper off to fit the splitter. Made it much easier.
Do u run any spacers on this? 18" rims?
19’s no spacers
i like, looks very well good
Yes it was great
What about rust ? Wont be start rusting near screws ?
It screws into the plastic side skirt
Does the side skirt stick out abit at the rear, just installed mine and i was wondering if this is normal ?
Yes they stick out more at the rear than the front
1Blue Ghost phew that’s a relief, thanks for the quick reply 🙌🏽👍🏽🙂
Aren't you afraid of rust when you make holes through metal?
Slaven Milic I think it just screwed into the plastic

yes they are pretty light, ive had no issues with them as yet even driving through puddles they've stayed put.
1Blue Ghost thanks for answering.
I’ll give them a try, I was afraid they will pull down my skirts.
1Blue Ghost are the skirts made of same material as front diffuser?
Sorry to bother.
@@eval7952 pretty sure they are both listed as being ABS so id imagine so but im not entirely sure.
Cheers
Cheers for the vid, what bolts did you use?
They came with the sideskirts, sort of like self tappers into the plastic
🙌
Do they get in the way of the jacking points ?
No not at all 👍
I suppose there is nothing that can be hurt where the screws was drilled in
No, basically just screws to the plastic to add more security to the 3m tape
Hey, how is your rust going on down there?
They are screwed into plastic so shouldn’t rust? I sold the car about 2 years ago anyway 😂
@@1BlueGhost Door sill isn't made of plastic Mate...
The side skirt is?
@@1BlueGhost You attached a plastic side skirt to a door sill made of metal... what is hard to understand here?
No it’s a plastic side skirt attached to a plastic side skirt
screw holes were left unsealed, risk of rust in side boxes
It’s plastic. It screws in to plastic. Plastic doesn’t rust 👍

I tried using tiger seal fucking hell what a mess when you take it off

I don’t know I quite liked it when I had it. Thought it looked alright!
These ain't sideskirts there skirt extenders
😱😱 they’re sideskirts for the sideskirts 😎
Do them screws go into the the plastic skirt what's already there or the actual metal sills
I don’t think they are long enough to go into the metal from what I remember. That’s why we stuck them on as well
Is the pouch of bacci standard for these setups or would I need to buy a custom bracket for it?
Unsure, I don’t smoke but I guess you could make a cool bracket for it 😂
