That's such a cool way to resign.
Laying the king.
🔥🔥
That's how it used to be
a bit extra nowadays
I always do that
Christopher Yoo is more of an artist's nature. That is, he is not so pragmatic for a chess player. He has also done chess studies, some of which even won prizes.
Thanks he did not drop the whole board)
Thank you for putting the board and analysis bar in this video! 👍👍🙌
yea but needs someone to explain it. Too many steps to actually reach that potential.
Absolutely agree with that. It WOULD BE SO BENEFICIAL TO MAKE IT ALWAYS REQUIRED AT ANY CAMERA SHARED GAME.
Thanks for bringing back the 2D board! Regards from the Netherlands :)
- "Are you aware of this archaic way of resignation?"
- Of course, everyone knows it.

This is why chess pieces need to be made of fragile glass.
I see lot's of respect for each other this time, well done Gentlemen!

Holy shit let it go, it's been dead for months
Respect to both players! Christopher will have his day. (But Hans was a bit more gentle with the pieces.)
These two know each other quite well (from the Bay area) and I think the controversy was overblown. Chris clarified and walked back his comments in a later interview. There are no ill feelings at all.
What is the point of having ill feelings towards an engine anyways
@@williamrobert9898 Yes... he used an engine in this game. 🤔
@@DaaimShabazz Hans: I AM the engine
Bonus points to Chris fir resigning by toppling his king.
I think that way of resignation was more of an acceptance of complete domination.
Yoo ended the rapid tournmanet ahead of Hans, scoring 7.5/13. Go Christopher!!!
He ended both tournaments ahead, but it's no competition. Both are talented. I've known both since they were about 10 or 12.

5:05 the eye glance when Christopher castled O-O it was then both knew this is the beginning of the end...
Niemann completely outplayed him. He is a beast. His pieces virtually never went backwards during the game. From the pawn break, he advanced like a steamroller inexorably. The clock is 9:33 for Niemann vs 0:33 for Yoo by the end.
True
it doesn't look like niemann is even playing a game, looks like he is trying to figure out his next move on board throgh some kind od reading
@@teamadministrator4822 yeah it is funny that he is looking away from the board for long periods when it is not his turn and Christopher's eyes were always on the board. Hans beat him with so much time remaining too. I think was able to beat him so fast and able to look away from the board because he had anal help

It's weird to watch how Hans plays. He always looks away from the board until his opponent makes the move. It's like he's trying to feel something...
I wondered about that too, but a lot of GMs do that. They all can play blindfold chess
Woooosh
That is how people think, look normal to me
looking away from the board helps a lot of players calculate without the current position distracting them. other players close their eyes when calculating but it's the same concept
@@hunterhunter5998 I usually close my eyes when calculating a line. Also you will notice even when players are not looking at board and calculating a line the eye pupils move constantly as they are moving pieces in the head. It's not a blank stare.
love how they're polar opposites in how they move their pieces
so Hans only sets up the board when he wins?
he's literally not the only one to do that

Strong play by Hans Niemann. Christopher Yoo tore up the castling side too much. I liked the way Hans Niemann prepared the pawn avalanche in the center. Christopher Yoo was powerless after that.
He was stupid to go grabbing pawns on the queen side. Rxc6 was so obviously incoming and he just didn't recognise the danger
There is nothing disrespect about this game. He is showing how much he was outclassed and resigned by toppling his king. Its a respect.
The title is referring to the history between Hans and Yoo. A few months ago they played a match in the U.S. Open and Christopher said he felt disrespected in every way imaginable or something like that. Enjoy: ruclips.net/video/3EN1lHq2yO0/видео.html
2:00 the beads suggested only three squares, Bc4, Ba4 or Bxf6. Let's find out...
Beginners question: Why doesn't black pawn take rook at 11:16?
Black wants to save his king in that position.
hans play on his rating, christopher no , what kind a opening is that , and specialy that castling for a gm?
At 2:22 why not take with the knight attacking the queen
Castling king side was a big mistake for Yoo.
You are absolutely correct. I seen early there will be no castling on that side for black, then later it happened. I looked for a attack I must have missed, but no, none.
I couldn't believe seeing such a bad move from a 2000+ rated player.
It actually saddens me to see young players not getting along/chatting after the game. I understand the negativity towards Hans but I hope the chess world finds a way to forgive him for his silly mistakes. Such an exciting player and still so young!
2:45 why didn't Christopher grab the free pawn at Nxc3?
Christopher Yoo afterwards: First he disrespected me... now he violated me!
Since there was no obligatory cougher in the crowd Hans had to oblige.
Can somebody explain to me why yoo resigned in 12:56 ??? He could have just taken the knight or am I missing something?
Unwinnable position. After king takes knight we have rook takes c7 and from there it's a forced mate.
I’m confused, why doesn’t he just take the knight with his king at the end?
After king takes knight next comes rook c7 check, and with queen and rook on the back two ranks it quickly loses.
At 4:32 Hans played bd3 instead of ng5. And Yoo was letting him. The Eval bar did not flinch. What's wrong with ng5? Was the idea to snap the pawn (he did later on) only after development?
Probably because of that Queen Check on g3. That would mean "destroying whites castling" or exchanging queens if white would put his queen in f2 to block check.
Perhaps that would make the drawing chances higher for black. Black had a very open king, and its defense would be much easier if white would lose castling rights or after a queen exchange.
Qh6 maybe
Maybe a dumb question: Why doesn't Yoo take the white rook on C6 for ages? What am I missing?
I'd like to know aswell. I'd take immediately, then again im a rook
The queen goes to the center and checks the king. Ultimately black must give up both rooks and he is probably getting mated in short order.
11:59 why did yoo did not capture rook ? And he resigned early.
If black takes the rook, white mates in a few moves after Qe5+.
Black didn’t resign early. In the final position, there’s no stopping Rc7+, mating trivially.
@@metaphysician7621 thank you.
Crazy game!! Respect for Hans
this entire game was disrespectful 😂 also playing on down a rook.
*Interesting that Hans is not even looking at the board and yet he is making crazy accurate moves. It's taking me some time to analyse so how could someone make such good moves without even looking at the board.*
At 1:30, Queen A4 Check just wins the bishop, no? Or am I missing something?
Nc6
11:21 Neimann clearly surprised that Yoo didn't capture the rook.
Double disrespect
I’m here for the vibrating comments.
Total domination by Niemann. GR8 Victory.
Lying the King is much better & respectful than breaking it😅
lol
The chess spoke for itself. Attack was so dominant 🥶
He resigned like in the early 20 th century.
At 12:17 could the black queen take out that pawn for mate?
Castling into a wide open king side uff
This game is sloppy, black should have taken white's knight with his knight first and then fork white's king & rook in that variation. Are these guys GM? Where's Magnus at?
you think GM's didn't consider knight takes knight? it's inaccurate because White plays Qd2 or Qb3 and then recaptures the knight or bishop next move. Black falls way behind in development with weak kingside (makes castling very unsafe) and is significantly worse
It's almost like Hans is training to be the best/fastest player of all time. It seems like he always plays fast and sometimes he crushes, sometimes he crashes. If he figures it out, he'll be a real problem because he's wreckless but is going for it every time.
Hans resting face is anger
Why do grandmasters players playing a match so often look like they have just awakened (or are trying to)?
Justice and freedom for Hans! :)
I've been playing chess for 25 years And while only under 2000 rating.. I understand what I see and I see that Neiman Except for a couple of moves plays the exact same moves as stockfish which is close to 3000 rated. Half of the time he is looking away from the board, looks bored, and usually makes moves very quickly..add to the fact that he also lost earlier in 3 mins with a sack from his opponent that I would not have missed in speed. I don't know how he is doing it, but something just doesn't add up.
When you say under 2000, did you mean you are rated 1000? Your analysis is worse that Niemann's🤣
Nice try troll 💀
Yoo can do : 5,54 C3 this critical move...he was moving the Queen only...🤗
finally you put a board on the screen.
It's just a total mismatch! Christopher seems to become a beginner and Nieman gets too bored!
I'm curious, why didn't Christopher take the rook with the pawn on b7 after Hans captures his knight with the rook?
Pretty sure Qe5+ leads to checkmate.
Why disrespect? I don't see any disrespect. Both played a good game and shook hands afterwards.
As a noob can I ask why he resigned? Why not take the Knight with his king?
Don’t understand why bxc6 was not played earlier.
Why did Chris not take the rook on C6 with his pawn? I don't understand the hesitation.
Wheres the post match interview with Yoo? Did he feel disrespected again?
It's the fist time I see that way of resignation in a pro level game.

Wasnt the bishop trapped at 3:14
F3
Why does Hans doesn't look at the board at all ,, is he concentrating on something else?
Hans seems so uninterested in the game... and yet he's just dominating on the clock and positionally.
Bruhs brains are most likely over worked from all the work and effort he put into the game to improve so fast. Chesss is not only a game. Its dedication, reading, preparation, willpower, dealing with losses. After many many games you can't enjoy every game even when you winning. Guy probaly just dead tired in his mind.this guy needs to slow down or he will burn himself out before his 30s.
Yoo left the king open exposed from very early, Niemman pawn just strolled in the middle of chessboard. seriously what kind of strategy is that?
Poor guy it was all mental....i mean how can you not see rxc6? He was just extremely nervous for the disrespect
They should install metal detectors under the table everytime Niemann plays.
2:20 black to move. Why not knight takes knight again?
It's funny that people think Hans cheats
At this point it seems to be a meme more than anything else.

Christopher Yoo: let me grabe those juicy ahh pawns and figure out later what to do 😂😂😂
10:46 Can anyone tell me why ND4 was not played ?
it seems there are many inaccuracies.
Why did he felt disrespected? Where is IT?
11:05 Black playing Qg3 cost him the game. I just couldn't see his point placing the queen there.
I'm always rooting for Hans!

why he didn't take with the knight on c3?????
Yoo likes to violate every opening principle. No wonder that his results are usually 1 or 0. Not much room for draws when you play like this. But that only works until you start facing the upper echolon of players who will shred you for the strategic weaknesses you created in your position.
It's legit fashionable sideline, engine likes it. Nothing wrong with it if you come prepared well to the game.

I don't know if Magnus noticed something,,,, no one else noticed
Was he noticed to his looks, staring at him during playing?

Maybe he is just better at visualisation and doesn't have to look at the board. He is mostly looking in the same direction and this tells me that he is visualising. Could be wrong.
@@MT-fr7tb I do not accuse him explicitly, but I do not blame those who doubt him,,,Especially as you know that he has a past of cheating

Threat wasn't bishop dropping - it's rook c7 check.
