Nothing better than locals recommendation, online recommendstions usually only rate food by taste but locals rate food by price, people's tradition, ambience and most important authethicity of the dish.
I love you friend. He is fascinated by how much food you can eat. I really appreciated this video. I'm in so much pain today (I'm terminally ill) and you made me smile and I had to laugh when your friend said your stomach is a universe.
Only Mikey could order food at a restaurant then go get other food while the food you ordered gets cooked haha love it, Im gonna try this with friends. Friends = "hey where you going" me = "just going to get a kebab brb"
But then it's not uncommon to do that in Malaysia, especially if you are eating with a group of friends, you order your main meal, but not too much then get extra street food while waiting.
I visited Malaysia last year it was soo amazing and I sooo miss being there, it’s such a beautiful place and the food is amazing, I hope u enjoy the food and the place like I did, lots of love Mikey, love ur vids .
Mike im telling you,in malaysia, all the ppl tats eat durian wash and drink the water from the shell of the durian and some even add salt to the water to eliminate the heatiness
I don't think people actually realize just how much the man can eat in one sitting! I bet a lot of people think it's all for show, but you can tell he truly loves food and eating, and that he's not joking when he says he can eat alot!
Your stomach is a universe, as your friend quoted in this video. He is right, it is not only universe in terms of how much you can eat but also universe as you taste and eat food from all parts of world. Great reviews.
I'm Malay Malaysian. We pour water inside the durian cloves to drink, I don't know about washing hands. But my dad said it is to prevent from the heat you get after eating durian. Not heat like spicy but like you could get headache from eating too much durian? Like if you eat too much beef you can get headache?
Regarding the durian, because the durians were plucked really green and ripened later in US so it will never be "fresh" smelling. The durians in South East Asia are harvested and sold locally so they are a lot fresher.
Washing your hand with water from the durian husk will get rid of the smell. But I usually don't do that because I love the smell that lingers on for days! The rambutan-like fruit is called "pulasan". Its sort of like a cousin to rambutan. The Chinese locals here call it "rambutan from the mountain"...
Mike really missed out all the unique Malaysian food. So many other dishes that has a very unique Malaysian version such as rendang, masak lemak, tempoyak, nasi kerabu, curry laksa, asam laksa, murtabak, otakotak, claypot chicken rice, pasembur and the local kuih....
I loved everything about this video!! I was so surprised to see corn+butter+salt in Malaysia! This is an extremely common food you can get at any beach in the south of Brazil, i grew up going to the beach in the holidays and eating this! So good
What an epic intro to Malaysia. The food looked amazing and so fresh. Not sure about the durian though. Mikey love this video and can't wait for the next one. Thank you for taking us along
Malaysia is my DREAM travel destination I've always wanted to go there as I went to school with 2 Malay friends, they were always so cool- AMAZING people, and I love making good friends!!!
holy fk i love South East Asia so much, we have so many things in common, similar but different, and these kinds of diversity are so interesting, can't wait to travel to Malaysia. Love from Vietnam
Mike keep doing you man... love how you always seem happy and enthusiastic about what your eating. . Love how your honest when you don't like something. Please keep making these vids. We love them . The whole family watches.
It is said that using durian shells to wash your hands is more effective than just using water+soap to remove the stench. Supposedly, some of the chemicals within the Durian Shell helps in removing the stench. But whether it truly is the case, I'm not sure. Try it for yourself and see (:
Thanks Mike! I have been having rough time recently and your videos cheer me up so much. So happy to see all the good food and listen to your jokes lol.
Durian fruit is heaty. Some people after consuming a few pieces would get nose bleed or body becomes very heaty(hot). And many believe the durian crust/shell has anti-heaty property. Add salt would drop the "heatiness" even more. Something like Yin-Yang thingy. Musang King durian should be eaten last, coz it spoil your taste buds after that. Other types of durian will become not tasty any longer.
come to Bazaar Ramadhan (basically night market catered specially during Ramadhan or muslim fasting month) if you're still in Malaysia!!! lit bazaars: Kampung Bharu, Taman Tun Datuk Ismail & Kelana Jaya
Jonathan WahChai nothing to claim. My Malaysian friend confirmed that all Malaysian food has had its humble beginnings in Singapore most notably nasi lemak
hi from malaysia... hope you love malaysia food... because malaysia love spicy food.. must try NASI LEMAK.. because NASI LEMAK malaysia most wanted dish.. and RAMLY burger..
Maybe I can help explain a little about the durian washing. As you all know nature balance things like the Ying and Yang... so if the fruit is heaty, the husk has a cooling effect so drinking water from the husk will cool you down. Same logic to the smell that sticks onto your hand, the water from the husk will magically wash it away. Its more effective than using soap.
ikr... foods in Malaysia is delicious and variety you can choose from.. I know coz I'm from Malaysia.. but sometimes tourist scared to try local food and end up eating at McDonald's... lol
foleverto if I go to a place, I want to experience their culture. So I would certainly be munching down some street food! The only thing discouraging me from going right away is I'm scared I want get the full experience as seen here because the language barrier.. 😬
Haha . Your stomach really is a universe.
Paranolverizer Haha 😆 he is!
Paranolverizer no the universe is too small to be his stomach

Paranolverizer I died laughing too. Lol
Nothing better than locals recommendation, online recommendstions usually only rate food by taste but locals rate food by price, people's tradition, ambience and most important authethicity of the dish.

😃😃 hope he never changes
Visit India soon bro 😊
I love you friend. He is fascinated by how much food you can eat. I really appreciated this video. I'm in so much pain today (I'm terminally ill) and you made me smile and I had to laugh when your friend said your stomach is a universe.

Only Mikey could order food at a restaurant then go get other food while the food you ordered gets cooked haha love it, Im gonna try this with friends. Friends = "hey where you going" me = "just going to get a kebab brb"
when the huger is real :-)
But then it's not uncommon to do that in Malaysia, especially if you are eating with a group of friends, you order your main meal, but not too much then get extra street food while waiting.
Maximizing your multi-eating skills! And time is of yhe essence, lol!
The food guide was such a nice guy! I’m excited to see him in more videos
I visited Malaysia last year it was soo amazing and I sooo miss being there, it’s such a beautiful place and the food is amazing, I hope u enjoy the food and the place like I did, lots of love Mikey, love ur vids .

When that dude said said your stomach is a universe got me laughing like a clown hahaha

And so Mike came to Malaysia and enjoyed our food. I'm a proud Malaysian. :D
"Your stomach is a universe"
-truest statement 2018
"your stomach is a universe" put that stuff on a shirt, Mike
It must be hard for him to share all his food because he’s usually eating it all. Now he can even eat more.👍🏽👍🏽
Lol, totally!
Why is this a top comment?
The guide is so happy and eager to have you try things, I love it!
Damn I wish the states had more late night street foods, Asia always kills it with these
Come to India once....
It's dirty and unhygienic. Eating food prepared on the side of the road isn't such a great idea.
Daniel Zha We are here for a good time, not a long time
better than bland expensive food
Daniel Zha i mean..i never got sick by eating street food here
wow, the guy with you seems so incredebly nice
he is!
Regarding the durian, because the durians were plucked really green and ripened later in US so it will never be "fresh" smelling. The durians in South East Asia are harvested and sold locally so they are a lot fresher.
enviivne my granpa have a farm of durian so when the season comes i went there to eat those fresh af durains and they raste good af
izuku midoriya
Lucky!
Actually, there are different varieties of durian. Varieties grown in South America typically have the offensive smell.
I think most of the durians in US are imported from Thailand, Philippines or Australia.
durian shouldn't be plucked/ cut from the tree.... it should ripened and fell from the tree by themselves
This is just the beginning!! Theres sooooo much more food and dishes malaysia has to offer
Loving your friend. He did a great job showing you around and stayed in a positive mood all night.
The best durian is really the bitter one. The sweet one taste just like custard (which is also delicious)
Max Haibara agree but im not a big fan for bitterness but i do like sweet and bitter durian . More like a balanced one
They are also extremely expensive
They're the expensive ones
Mikey's friend is so adorable his smile and laugh omg 😍😍😍
Another great video!!!
Hahahahahaha you had smoke come out of your nostrils. Like those cartoons of when bulls are angry. Hahahahahahaha
Jason Paul yeah.. do not go places where have foreigners and the prices expensive too .
crispy rendang anyone?
jvjh777 i luv rendang with roti jala~
ivy kim for a moment i am thinking what is roti haka🤣
but too bad roti jala is getting rarer nowadays...rendang with roti is always a WIN.
Omg the friend guide is sooooo adorable!
I loved everything about this video!!
I was so surprised to see corn+butter+salt in Malaysia! This is an extremely common food you can get at any beach in the south of Brazil, i grew up going to the beach in the holidays and eating this! So good
You always upload when I’m seconds from dying of hunger.
What an epic intro to Malaysia. The food looked amazing and so fresh. Not sure about the durian though. Mikey love this video and can't wait for the next one. Thank you for taking us along
I’m a Malaysian & I’m hitting to Jalan Alor tonight because of you
Hi Mikey! 🤗 I hope youre having an amazing day where ever you are in the world! Safe travels
Thank you!
Malaysia is my DREAM travel destination I've always wanted to go there as I went to school with 2 Malay friends, they were always so cool- AMAZING people, and I love making good friends!!!
Oh so that's why people in the US hate durian? No wonder.
I've only eaten good durian all my life lol
Hongster Hong no worries, I eat durian only like once a year lol
durian not really fresh in US, put over monthly also
It's the same like when they bring strawberries or cherries from the USA. They are never good. Crazy expensive but not good at all!
@@jennn9159 I legit went "eeeee" that's disgusting, the thing could've rotted
Anyway foreigners usually don't like it anyway 😂😂
Awww Rick looks like such a happy sweet guy. That's so cool Mikey to be guided around Malaysia with good friends! Love this!
Mikey is the only person who eats snacks after a fulfilling feast. XD
Welcome to Malaysia! Happy that you enjoyed our food 😊
holy fk i love South East Asia so much, we have so many things in common, similar but different, and these kinds of diversity are so interesting, can't wait to travel to Malaysia.

Mike keep doing you man... love how you always seem happy and enthusiastic about what your eating. . Love how your honest when you don't like something. Please keep making these vids. We love them . The whole family watches.
Malaysia chinese restaurant the best. And street food is overwhelming too. Thanks to the multi-culture we have.
So much simple joy between people freely sharing good food and experiences - what life is about.
It is said that using durian shells to wash your hands is more effective than just using water+soap to remove the stench.
Supposedly, some of the chemicals within the Durian Shell helps in removing the stench.
But whether it truly is the case, I'm not sure. Try it for yourself and see (:

*Happy Ramadan Guys hope it goes well inshallah* ❤💙💚💕💝💗💘💓💟💚💜💜
Mikey..u just found the best tour guides! They're nice & warm hearted guys!

I love how there's constant laughter in this vid - what joyful people!
Awesome !!! This is my kind of food, no doubt.
come to Bazaar Ramadhan (basically night market catered specially during Ramadhan or muslim fasting month) if you're still in Malaysia!!! lit bazaars: Kampung Bharu, Taman Tun Datuk Ismail & Kelana Jaya
Oh god, finally review of Malaysian foods 🙌🏻🙌🏻😍
Jonathan WahChai think you mean Singapore food
Headless Chicken hahahaha are you gonna claim this as well?
Jonathan WahChai nothing to claim. My Malaysian friend confirmed that all Malaysian food has had its humble beginnings in Singapore most notably nasi lemak
Headless Chicken Let's not forget that Singapore was once part of Malaysia. So Singaporean food is basically Malaysian food as well
Allison Ho I think you got it the other way round
Welcome to Malaysia Mikey and team!
Everyone, Malaysian Buffet incoming
So many new ideas to cook local ingredients. Keep opening my taste buds to different varieties of things found here in the Caribbean
Baha youre friend looked like he was having the time of his life with that dry ice.
So great
Mann, I just can't wait for the next vlog. I'm hyped up already
Now I want to go to Malaysia just for durian.
Malaysian food looks pretty amazing! And thanks for the new insight about Durian, Mikey.
Your stomach is a universe LOL
Your guide is having a genuine smile. He looks so friendly
Your guide friend is awesome so easy going. I love when he's like "uh no" you pour it from the durian lol and "your stomach is a universe " lol

How are you not rolled around everywhere you go? I eat a 10th of what you eat and I am like 2x your size! LOL
Christopher Todd I think that's because he's constantly busy. That's what I think but I could be wrong.
that, and he exercises like a maniac i suppose!
Yea. He looks GREAT! I just wonder how you do that with all of that travel.
He runs 7 mile and hit the gym almost 4 times a week back in the US. But still crazy metabolism
Christopher Todd He has a rigorous exercise regiment I saw from one of his vlogs. Just look at his gains.
Thank you mike.i really appreciate how you describe the taste of malaysia in a nice way
Hi from South Africa
Kiara Chinniah he should come and visit us
Does apartheid still exist
Re Ra I agree. He would love it here.
Kiara Chinniah wow. I'm also from South Africa
I'm Malaysian. Hands up Malaysians! Welcome Mike!
If you want to try some serious spicy food, you have to go to the northern parts of Malaysia, like Penang and Kedah, you will love it
Basically whole of malaysia can get spicy food XD just depends on how spicy you wants
Just a suggestion Mike, maybe you can try doing a cruise, review the cruise, food and the activities
If you can get past the smell of Durian, the creamy and somewhat sweet/tangy taste is delicious. 100% an acquired taste though haha
- jon & ange
Thanks Mikey, great show!
laughed my heart out when he said 'Your stomach is a universe. You can really eat a lot'.
Watching Mikey out eat his friends is my favorite thing
Get well soon!
I'm just happy that mike enjoys the durian 😊

The street malls of the orient, Mikey's 'go to' destinations. Binge watching his vids got me through covid.
