@@mrfixitishere that would be great in WWE 2K24 you can unlock or just change in the settings which commentary team you want like Raw’s, Smackdown’s or WCW’s Bobby Heenan and Dusty Rhodes as I would pick the WCW commentary all the time. The problem with the match was that Regal was always promoted as a lower-midcard heel. Nobody really cared about him or his matches. They just saw him with a stupid gimmick. Then Fit Finlay comes in as a heel and starts fighting with him. They never really promoted it enough to get people to care about seeing the match in the first place. As a teen watching this live, I really didn't care about either of them much less their matches. As an adult looking back, you really start to appreciate the talent and ability of Regal.
@@peterw.kocsis2520 Him too. Most of his WCW and WWE runs though, they didn't let him show off his actual wrestling abilities aside from a match here and there. They just want him to be a midcard brawler.
They had a slew of International talent they could have pushed and done really well with, but when the office and booking are fixated on past their prime talent(Hogan & Flair) who also have the biggest say behind the scenes, people like Regal, Finlay, The Guerreros, Alex Wright, etc were buried in the midcard. It's a shame
What also hurt was the match before it, IIRC, was Konnan vs Eddie Guerrero: a high paced lucha match. And it was two heels. But they beat the dog shit out of each other, it was great!
I remember renting Uncensored 96 on VHS and watching this match 2-3 times in a row before moving on. Even as a stupid kid I could immediately tell these guys were really laying it in and not doing the typical WCW "rasslin", which was probably one of the (multitude) of reasons the crowd was almost dead silent during it.

Don't know WHY this popped up on my RUclips feed now, but I absolutely LOVED this match. It was by far the best match on this PPV. I prefer matches that are stiff, technical, and have good selling and timing. This match had all of the above.
