Hi, several people have explained what a brownie is. You don’t need to anymore thanks.
It still is really lazy to name the character what they are, especially since it doesn't sound like the character acts much like a brownie from folklore. I really appreciated you commentary on the name though, as a pale life-long Girl Scout (brownie as in the dessert is also the name of 3 years of scouting XD) I always thought of it as a cute name for a pet or maybe a sweet nick name and then I saw your face and when you stumbled across it in a book and was like "oh shit, not cute for obvious reasons." And this is why I love watching a lot of reviews cause everyones got something obvious to them and new to me to bring up.
lol yeah people were sending me paragraphs explaining the folklore of brownies and I was like “this dude just tried to kill people…no milk no chores just failed assassin”. And yeah I don’t vibe with the name aside from the baked good (even then I dunno). I dated a girl who named her dog brownie and I was like 🤨
It's the Peter pan girlies vs the Persephone and Hades girlies at this point

My traumatic backstory is that I read these books (yes, plural, I read the first 3) at 16 because I saw them on TikTok and everyone kept saying they were good. Yeah.

Idk if you saw any reviews or plan on reading the rest, but it took Nikki until like book 3 to mention that pan and the other guys are aged up. Besides the fact that it kinda defeats the point of peter pan, she never mentions how old these guys are physically. Could be 18, could be 28, we dont know that right now, and it sadly doesnt change how weird it is as you mention Winnie has the brain of a 30 year old despite being barely legal

1. I don’t know how I missed this one when it came out, sorry so late 😭
2. Peter Pan has been one of my favorite stories for as long as I’ve been making memories. These retellings don’t offend me, but I find myself wondering…why? Most directors of visual Peter Pan media age Peter up and give the story an undertone of puppy love between him and Wendy, which makes sense to me. But I struggle to understand the desire to age up Pan and the boys and do stuff to them. I don’t know. Don’t wanna yuck anyone’s yum, but I definitely don’t understand it.
