  • The Tuscon is totally redesigned for 2022 and Hyundai has elevated the whole platform. On the outside you will find all new sheetmetal, unique wheels, and LED lighting. On the inside you will be greeted to leather seating, all new 10in infotainment screen, and 10in gauge cluster. Under the hood is a 2.5L inline-4 producing 187HP & mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. Is the NEW 2022 Hyundai Tucson a BETTER compact SUV than a Mazda CX-5?

I ordered the Tucson Ultimate Hybrid and just can't wait to get it in the next week or so. This guy is the best at reviews and gives his opinion which is great, love the snack comments and just quality in detail top to bottom. I watch videos of cars I'm not getting just to see his views on them as well, to see if he can sway my opinion. Great work as always.

I saw one of these in my rear view mirror today and the daytime running lights with that new front grill looked so 21st Century futuristic. I did not know it was a Hyundai Tuscon until I saw this review tonight. Great Review but now I am leaning towards the Tuscon as opposed to the CX5. I just wish this futuristic drive had a way to reach half warp speed!!!

I saw the same front grill and daytime running lights in my rear view mirror recently too and loved it. I’ve taken it for a test drive as well, a bit sluggish when increasing speed to merge in traffic but that was the FWD not the AWD.
I am also looking at the CX-30 and Jeep Compass High Altitude.

I did lots of research this past week on various SUVs and I ended up with my top 2 on the list: 2023 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid Limited vs 2023 Mazda CX-5 Turbo Signature.
These two cars have the most of the tech & specs I was looking for.
But with 2023 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid Limited, gosh, it's loaded with safety features & driver assist features!
There's so much more on Hyundai Tucson Hybrid Limited!
And yes, I ended up coming home with the Hyundai Tucson Hybrid Limited! 🥰
Then I canceled my other appointments for test drive of Mazda, Honda, and Subaru. 😁

match the angle on the rear door. Overall it’s a nice looking choice in that market. Thanks for sharing it and well done guys! 👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸

I went and test drove a 2022 Hyundai Tucson Limited recently and the interior is beautiful and 0 complaints. Test drove a "Blue" trim hybrid and got to look over the naturally aspirated "Limited" a few weeks back. I'll tell you what, the Limited trim in the new Tucson is awesome. Truly a level or two above it's class. The infotainment system is very well done, and very snappy and intuitive - even without conventional knobs/buttons. I do think the exterior design is a take it or leave it affair. However, I liked it so much I ended up putting a deposit down through Hyundai USA on a plug in hybrid Limited in the same color (shimmering silver) with gray interior. Unfortunately, they aren't for sale yet here in the USA. I could be waiting a couple of months for delivery.

I bought a 2023 just like your test vehicle two days ago. Also live in Florida and regularly drive on that race track known as I-95. It has more than enough power to "Get out of its own way". I have no issues merging on the freeway or keeping up with (or passing) the traffic on it. I'm coming from a Subaru Legacy XT with the 260 HP engine so I understand what quick is. The Tucson is fine (average). Almost every reviewer parrots that same line about it being underpowered when it's not. It's like any other compact crossover with its base engine and more than adequate for daily driving. Honestly don't know what people expect out of that class. The Limited is loaded with so many features - I'm very happy with my purchase and shopped almost all its competitors.

I have a 2021 CX-5 Carbon edition, while my wife has a "Blue" version of the 2022 Tucson Hybrid. I research the heck out of vehicles before buying. I think the CX-5 blew away the competition...until I drove this Hyundai Tucson. It's even quieter than the CX-5, a bit more roomy, has 4-wheel drive versus my CX-5's two-wheel drive. And the Tucson hybrid get 35-38 mpg.
In this class of small SUV, I say the Hyundai Tucson is now #1, but the Mazda CX-5 is still an awesome car for the money (still rather buy this reliable car than a BMW 3-Series at almost twice the price!)
Thanks Joe. However, you didn't clearly state your preference at the end of the video. Did you declare a winner, versus the Mazda sir??? Great camerawork!

Extensively test drove and compared the CX5, the 2022 Tuscan, and various others, but I landed on the Buick Envision Avenir, and am loving the heck out of it. The tech is great, the interior is high quality, awesome infotainment, solid acceleration (7.1 0 to 60, although I do wish it was slightly more powerful, but nothing really is anymore), and one of the smoothest, quietest rides among the current crop. I wanted something with a funkier exterior design aesthetic like the Tuscan or Murano, but most of them are just so underpowered that I couldn't get past it. Never thought I'd ever own a Buick, but I suppose I am technically a grandpa of 3 years now so there's that, and they've reinvented themselves in a way that won me over.

Got my Hybrid Limited in early April when there were only 4 in the entire 250 mile radius... and 2 of them charged this ridiculous $3000 - $5000 "market condition markup fee" because they know they are the only dealership carrying the limited trim... eventually drove 3 hours to this one last dealership that didn't have this stupid markup fee and finally picked up my car!!! Limited Hybrid trim is the best of both worlds: performance yet fuel efficient. And the techs just brings unlimited bragging right, especially the remote park assist lol

3 separate reviews on the new tucson but none of them were the hybrid? The hybrid is almost 2 seconds faster zero to 60, gets about 37 mpg, it's only a little over a thousand dollars more to buy and it comes with all wheel drive and a 6 speed automatic (so no droning CVT- unlike ALL the other hybrid crossovers in its class). The hybrid is def the way to go!

    • @tomdavis3038
      @tomdavis3038 3 года назад +1

That’s interesting. I would have thought there would be a larger price increase to go hybrid. You are spot on with criticism of the CVT but I’ll take it one step further. The cvt will need replacement earlier than a regular automatic and costs much more to replace. Gas prices are going to rise. Choose wisely.
      Cheers

Anthony Jackson it’s the mild hybrid u r talking about I think. And even mild hybrid is not economical. That’s one of the flaws (probably the only one) Koreans have to address I guess.

@@Anton-. what do you mean it's not economical? The HEV yields 37mpg. Its absolutely economical especially given the size. Not sure where you're getting you're info. Also, I currently own a Kia optima hybrid, and I've owned it since 2013- I've used it to drive for Uber, for cross country trips and for lots of city driving as well. They def know how to make economic cars. Not sure where you're getting your info, but as someone who actually owns them, I can vouch.

Dan, you can't beat the reliability of Toyota. I am considering the Rav4 Hybrid but without the AWD which I do not need here in CA. The CVT of the Hybrid performs so much better, ie smoother engine than the 8 speed Rav4 auto. With a difference of only about $1300 between the XLE Hybrid and and LE no comparison in my opinion. I was at my local Toyota dealership yesterday and the literally had only 5 Rav4s. Yes, it's the chip problem. They did not have one XLE Hybrid. We may have to wait for sometime before the chip problem is solved.

I once rented a Range Rover Evoque. Half the time I couldn't see the center touch screen because of the angle and sun glare. It was maddening that I could't see any functionality like AC while driving. This car has the same with both the gauges and the center display. Hope that have a really good anti-glare coating.
