    Hyundai did a lot to improve this 2022 Tucson including increased space all around, nicer materials, better efficiency, etc. Do you like what they've done and would you buy this over one of the competitors?

      I already bought one exactly like that. Everything is so amazing! The driving is quite assured to me and it is everything I need. Despite of their comments about the MPG of AWD I have, I ended up with the MPG of 42 which is similar gas consumption of most hybrid cars!

    I purchased the Tucson Elite Diesel back at the end of November and it's the best car I've ever had. This is my 3rd Hyundai and I can't fault them. So many safety features and for the price, you get everything imaginable. The engine pickup is unbelievable....and comfort out of this world. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending the new Tucson to anyone.

    I just bought my New 2022 SEL Tucson. It drives so smooth you can barely feel the bumps. So comfortable. All the features and Designs are amazing.. I do agree it is better to buy the SEL then the Limited and get a couple features on your SEL for more and better performance and better features. This car is amazing. Nice review!!!

    This is the review that made me buy my first car which is the 22 Limited in Amazon Grey. Greatly detailed and honest review. Bought the Car more than a month ago and I am so impressed with it. My original choice was the Hybrid but they don't have one available yet. really great handling and safety feature. For what it's worth, SUPERB. Even my husband commented on how beautiful it is both interior and exterior, as well as it's handling. Downside for me is acceleration from 0-60 when you're merging and changing lanes on the highway, it takes a little time but when it does send more speed, IT DOES and can keep up or even gives you more acceleration without flooring the gas all the way down. Tried a little road trip with friends and they're impressed. Friends said the cabin is really quiet. Overall, super happy with this purchase. Looking forward to future Hyundai's vehicles and updates. thanks

      If you had held-out for the Hybrid, you would have gotten a lot more HP and Torque... 0-60, passing and acceleration is a LOT better on the Hybrid than the gas version. The two versions are completely different on power levels and very little on price.

She is beautiful to drive. It is funny, I never thought I would ever fall in love with a vehicle, but I am totally in love with her. (I know I sound a little goofy here) She handled perfectly in our upstate NY winter, and now loving her in the summer months starting here..

    I purchased a 2022 Limited and I like it more and more over time. I have found the acceleration to be variable and I wonder how much of it is programming and also getting used to different pedal management. Overall, I find the limited to be better loaded and more advanced than many luxury cars (I have owned many) costing far more. I think it is a great value proposition in that it is comfortable, supremely well equipped and a good price point. Throw in inexpensive (even free) maintenance and a class leading warranty and it is hard to beat. I cross shopped more cars than I can count.

    Thanks for this video re: 2022 Hyundai Tucson. I purchased a 2022 Hyundai Tucson SEL in June 2021. Because of the microchip shortage I was lucky to get it through a car broker. I live in Fresno,Ca and it took him 2 hours to find the SEL exactly as I wanted. "Free delivery" 4 days later from Antioch, CA. The Apple Car Play is excellent, the blind spot warning without camera works well and the power is very capable driving up the Grapevine. The vehicle had a lot of new tech stuff which I had to learn. However, this is the 5th Hyundai I have purchased, so a friendly local Hyundai salesman helped me with 2 one hour teaching lessons. I was so thankfull and able to learn and use most tech stuff. Only thing I did not like or use was the Sirius FM. For me it is annoying and costly. Supposedly only a dealer can remove Sirius from the entertainment module. And I plan to do so at my 7,500 mile service appointment.

    Just took delivery of a SEL Premium. In my opinion this model offers the best bang for the buck. Everything that I wanted without paying for things that I don’t need. I don’t need a car that backs itself out of a parking stall. Word to the wise, if you have the automatic tailgate don’t park the rear of the car near anything that it can reach while opening. It doesn’t take much movement to open it automatically and it will hit anything in its path before you can react. I shut of the auto gate the first day that I owned the car after a near miss.

    Yes, that is nice enough to make me want that over a Sportage. The 4 spoke steering wheel is actually a nice feature that I had before. When cruising along the highway for hours, you can hold the wheel at the bottom for a while.
    Physical button and knobs is so much easier to use and you can do things without looking or just a quick glace to get your fingers on the right switches then keep your eyes on the road.

    I am normally not an SUV fan. But the more I saw this vehicle the more curious I became. So today I took one for test drive. Major benefits very smooth ride, and very supportive seats. Attraction major, the thing is as slow as molasses. You feel if a truck is coming after you you won't be able to get out of the way. The other thing is the radio infotainment system has no knobs. I sold the car because of that, a 2016 Civic. If it meets your needs to grab it it's a nice car, but I won't be buying it. If anything I have to give me a Mazda CX-5 or CX 50.

    I own the SEL w/ convenience. Its red just like this one. I did not go for the hybrid because I wanted more power on the highway. And yes, power is adequate. You have to hit the sweet spot and let the power flow correctly. Most reviewers miss that. I am not a fan of the 19 inch wheels on mine. I like their design, but I would have preferred smaller wheels for better fuel economy since they weigh less and take less energy to move forward, plus a better ride. I may downgrade them later. Also, since most of these have been sitting in the sun for months waiting for chips to finish them, you may notice some environmental contamination that Hyundai or the dealer will need to detail out before delivery. Mine was fine, however the windows had some sort of film resembling overspray, that came out with a clay bar treatment. Power is ok and fuel economy is ok. The DRLs have dual mode illumination which always gets peoples attention if you change them sitting at a light. The main LED headlights are very bright and work perfectly, one of best features of this car. Since it is so big, keeping this thing clean is a full time job inside and out, and I always keep my cars spotless 24x7. Be careful not to apply ceramic wax yourself on this, let a professional do it. I tried and it turned out "not well". Had to claybar it out. Otherwise just use carnuba. The nitrogen filled tires are a nice touch, the auto start/stop feature is very annoying if you forget to turn it off, the door locks are hypersensitive and can be triggered with a towel or strong jet of water at the carwash.

    New owner, 1 month, of a Tucson Limited .....the nav voice has failed and the sound to the radio. Also, there is no back lighting on the steering wheel buttons for nighttime driving and now illumination backlighting on the touch buttons for radio on/off, vol -/vol +, nav, map, etc. I have had this in for service and the dealership insists this is not a feature and all is well with the touch buttons not having a back light for nighttime illumination . I referenced your nighttime review of this model to the service department and they told me it is just enhanced lighting for the camera used to video these features. Am I off base here or are they not well informed as to the amenities of this model?

  • @stephenhendricks103
    @stephenhendricks103 3 года назад +1

    Obviously there are major upgrades compared to the last generation of the Tucson. However...
    () Hyundai's practice of taking a vehicle's finished design and slapping bulges and creases here, there, and everywhere before it's released makes the entire look reminiscent of a spaceship from a Flash Gordon movies serial from the 1930's.
    () Apparently Hyundai designers felt the placement of the headlights in the Pontiac Aztek and the Nissan Juke was worth copying. Suffice to say it's a terrible idea. Here in the Pacific Northwest the spring melt in the mountains brings many tons of rocks and gravel down to highways at lower elevations. The rocks become projectiles aimed at windshields and headlights behind large trucks. And with the headlights placed just above the bumper they're even more vulnerable. Owners of the Tucson would be well advised to put plastic covers over the headlights; they're cheaper to replace than the headlights, themselves.

    I purchased this 2022 Tucson Hybrid Ultimate in Canada, but Canadian version did not include the ISG button located in the middle console, I already received a letter of notification regarding RECALL issue, they called it SERVICE CAMPAIGN C0448. I don't know how many more recall with this 2022 Tucson Hybrid

    Pressing shifting button while moving will do nothing. The buttons send a signal to a computer, the computer determines if safe to shift into the gear and if the vehicle is moving, it will not allow the shift. (Info also in owner's manual stating button have no affect if pressed when moving.)

    I purchased the 2022 Tucson Hybrid Ultimate and received just two months ago!, I already got a recall letter from Hyundai Auto Canada, they call it SERVICE CAMPAIGN C0448. Your interior video showed the (ISG) button included in higher trim package, but Canadian higher trim packaged is NOT included?

    A lot of car for the money - Consumer Reports gave it a 84 % rating. I would get the hybrid, much faster with the Turbo engine plus electric motor and very fuel efficient...

    Seems like the US version also doesn’t have the temp control for the rear AC either. Wonder why Hyundai skimped out on so many features of the US Limited version vs Euro Limited?

    The 2022 Tucson Ultimate Hybrid in Canada did not include the ISG button to disable the (Stop and Go) feature, I'm so disappointed why Hyundai made it different from other countries.

    Great reviews. Thank you. I especially appreciate the Night Reviews, which I haven't found on other channels. They provided a lot of additional information. I like that you include the IIHS headlight patterns (which I now have bookmarked).
    Setting aside horsepower, EV range and price, for your personal vehicle would you choose the Toyota RAV4 Prime (XSE trim) or (future) Hyundai Tucson Plug-in (Limited trim)? Would factoring in horsepower (302 vs. 261), EV range (42 vs. 33) and/or price change that decision?
    Thanks again.

      Thank you very much! I’m glad to hear that. The IIHS headlight ratings are great.
      Without having been in the plug in Tucson, I’d say the Prime. Even without considering those specs, Toyota’s reputation for hybrid and battery durability would pull me that way. With that being said, I feel that the Tucson is and will be a better value for what you get initially and it’s still very nicely done

    The price is obscene, Rav4 new is $48 Gs, I'd try and get Toyota down for a $10g price difference. Now bring this price down to $32G with awd and it's a deal. BTW I have a 16 Tucson ECO and 17 Sportage which is now drinking a qt of oil per 1000 miles...Warranty in progress. The Theta II engine problems really hurt the Korean car manufacturer, especially for the people who they don't honor their lifetime warranty on the Theta II motors. I am already reading issues with the new Soul drinking oil, and rumor has it Kia failed to harden the oil rings properly. So, do get your oil changed on time by your Kia/Hyundai dealers as to make sure you have any future warranty on the engine in play.

    Weird that the euro version has a triple split in the rear seat, so only the middle portion can be lowered… e.g. to fit in a pair of skis between two rear passengers. Baffling why the US version doesn’t have this feature.

    I do not like the touch buttons. that’s too bad. I do like knobs at least for some things. Also why don’t they make a screen that will tilt more towards the driver? It’s so much easier to see and deal with even with some controls on the steering wheel, I hardly use them. I like to reach and adjust whatever it is I’m doing. A screen that you can just tilt towards you a bit would be super helpful. Also, I like a shift stick. I don’t like the flat surface that you hit a button. Stick all the way for me.

    • @PrimeAutotainment
      @PrimeAutotainment  2 года назад

      I feel the same about the touch buttons and prefer the physical controls.
      Good point about the screen tilt, some brands have it tilted a little but others don’t.
      You planning on keeping your 2015?
