I have the same year gixxer, only 750, and I can't thank you enough for this video and the spark plug video. You have made my life so much easier, now all the maintenance work for air filter and oil changes are a breeze. Thanks a mil!
Thanks so much sir! Just did my first oil change on my 07 with 41,000 miles 💪🏽! Had to try and save some coin this time. Your videos are amazing and easy to follow alongside the manual.
Well done. I am pleased that you showed many angles of the bike while conducting the oil change because I have just notice a leak on mine. Now I have an idea that the leak is coming from the filter. Thank you, much appreciated.
This was very educational and very well recorded, you really do see everything. I'm in a "buy a gsxr or zx6r" standpoint so I'm looking up all maintenance works :D
@@JesusLopez-xo4gi just check it up regularly and have no fear. My bike used to be a track bike to previous owner so I got it cheaper because of it and it still serves me perfectly as a road vehicle. You'll doubtfully go wrong with it. NOTE: I would suggest 750. If it is a bit powerful, you can always put it in C or B until you grow into it, and after 2 seasons I still didn't outgrow it.
Just a tip, i noticed you didnt pre fill your filter before you attached it, you should fill your filter with oil before installing, doing so speeds up the process of oil circulation, if you dont your motor will be without oil until the filter fills and then distributed to motor.
Good tip, but I could also think of some reasons not to do this: Usually you ride the bike to warm up the oil before changing it, so it drains well. This means the old oil was pumped through the engine and left a film. Due to the limited rpm / load this will lubricate sufficiently until the new oil hits those spots. Furthermore your method might be more challenging for beginners in terms of keeping everything clean. When oil is spilled out of the new filter it might also cause difficulties regarding how much oil to exactly add through the filler opening, after putting on the filter. Just some considerations though. I think your tip is still great, especially for people who already have some experience and that are less likely to make a mess. Thumbs up!
Thank you for this video! I had my bike worked on at a local shop at they didn’t put the wiring harness in the correct spot but thanks too you I can clearly see where it should be
Really helpful video, I have just got a 2006 gsxr and needs some tlc, oil and filters etc ready for the 2015 season. Did you ever do a changing the spark plugs vid? Also a vid on changing the air filter woukd be useful! Keep up the vids!!!
Glad you found it useful. I have been a little slow getting the spark plug one done. It is coming VERY soon so subscribe and keep your eyes peeled for that.
For next time and for any bike where the oil filter is above the front headers, put some aluminium foil around the header where the oil shoud drip, so after the flush, you just remove it, but a little of brake cleaner, and you're done, no more cleaning ;)
just want to add, every bike i have had and did an oil change on usually after you fill up the oil to the corect level you want to let it idle for a few mins and give a few revs and move the bike left to right and then turn it off check the oil and then it usually needs a top up because i think it like settles or something then go for a ride then come back check it and then later that week after a couple more rides check it and it probably needs a top up of like 100ml then after that week it never needs a top up ever again, i think it just needs to settle or something idk what it is but every bike i have had its done that
great video sir! I have the same 2008 gsxr 600 but don't have the k7....just the regular. Is the oil process still the same? also what size socket do I use for the oil plug?
I need help immediately!! There's an 06 GSXR 600 for sale for $600 in my local area. I have never owned a motorcycle but I was looking to get one soon. What should I check on this bike to make sure it's running as good as advertised?
Hi, was it a full exhaust line on your Gixxer 600 on the video ? Because I can see springs on the headers. Thanks for the video, will do the same on my upcoming 750, same year ! :) Cheers from France
im 1,72 M thats like 5.7 is this a good bike for me or am i to short?? i dont want any problems with flat footing the bike im curently driving a kawasaki 300 for almost 2 years
Great video. I noticed you changed your levers... I have an 06 GSXR600 and had the bike stall/brake on me after changing the levers. Any tips as far as brands or steps that must be done to avoid this?
I just checked my R-Rod oil Level 4,000 Miles and it looks brand new. This oil looks like my Tundra oil at the 150,000 / 5,000 mile oil change. Good lord that oil is dark.
Why'd you make a video and then not show how to get the fairing off. I've removed all the damn bolts and the f'ing fairing (same exact year/model as yours) thing doesn't want to come off. Nobody can seem to actually SHOW this process being done - everyone just says "un-do the bolts and it pops off".

How about now ? :)
Bought gsxr750 :)

Truth even if it’s mounted sideways.

good video was about to shell out for a main dealer service ...but after watching your vid i think ill do it myself 👍👍👍
This video is everything! Thank you! I’ll be changing my oil for the first time and was completely lost. Do I have to have a stand to do this?
No, no stand needed. In fact, if you use the kickstand, it leans the bike over and lets the oil drain easier than if it was on a garage stand.
Thx. Now i can change myself the oil and filter. :D

Very informative video man, thank you. Great sounding exhaust btw :D
This channel has helped me soooooo much. Thank you!
Good video. The exhaust on your bike sounds nice.
Hello. Can you tell which is the best washer for the oil screw to keep the oil from leaking out of the crankcase

I bought the 5w30 motul can I put this in my bike? 07 gsxr 600cc
Wouldn't a 06 be a k6?
it is but the k7 is exactly the same so no big deal i have one just like this with the same exhaust aswell but in blue
@@LoukinhoXavier
I'm in love with the blue color🥰
great video sir! I have the same 2008 gsxr 600 but don't have the k7....just the regular. Is the oil process still the same? also what size socket do I use for the oil plug?
I have a 2006 gsxr750 and it says 2.6 quarts in the manual. But it doesn't register in the middle of the sight glass?
if you open up the filler hole it drains a lot better/faster
What kind of stand is that?
I'm guessing its the same process on an 05 gsxr600
Is it normal to hear the valves when its cold i heard your n sounds just like mine they get alot quieter once warm tho
So I should fill the oil filter with about 600 ml before putting it on right? That's how I do it in my car but I'm new to bikes
beautiful bike m8. great video, trying to learn everything i can this season on my 05 Gsx-r600 and this video really helped.
David Perrelli heads up the 05 is a different motor btw:)
@Gixfreax So far it seems very good. Shifts are smooth. I guess we will see how it looks when I change it again lol.
Hey bro you do the same thing on a 2004 and how do I fix my back Signal lights
Great video mate!
Nice job. What do you think of the Motul 300v?
Shouldn’t the engine be warmed up so the residual oil flows out more completely?
Great video, thank you 👍
Absolutely helpful

Is it 2600ml on the oil case cover
What size washer do I need?
their is torque on tight8ng oil bolt.Thats recommended.

great video , Well done.
Thanks bro u made my day
Do i really need to change the crush washer? Its so hard :(
Your the man dude !!!
You don’t relocated the rectifier?
I just dropped the oil on my 07 750, and the oil was a maroon color, I put in synthetic OEM oil from Suzuki. Anyone know why my oil turned red??
How many quarts im confused people keep sayin 3 1\4 quarts
About 2.8 liters of oil
i have an oil leak on my 06 gixxer 600, you do know what is causing it?
im about to change the oil soon
I would rather change my own oil instead of going to a shop that offered to change it for $180.00
You're definitely right. Wish I would've done it sooner
I got money but not time to change it.. so I rather pay to some one to do it ..
Takes like 30 mins man
Whoever is wondering, for this BIKE you will need 17MM Socket to unscrew the oil nut!
Thanks man! Good vid
hi in which milleage oil should change???
every 3k miles if you want it to last a while. or you can just do 5k miles. youll be fine as well
I just checked my R-Rod oil Level 4,000 Miles and it looks brand new. This oil looks like my Tundra oil at the 150,000 / 5,000 mile oil change. Good lord that oil is dark.
Wrap your exhaust with silver foil wen you put off the filter !!
Can you explain this in more detail?
2.8 liters is not too much?
GameR 100 not at all
Same as 07 750 gsxr?
antospeedyr1 yes
Why not move the oil catch pan out of your way?
nice dude
Thanks mate
Thanks..
you mean 3thousands or 5thousand kilometres?
Use aluminium foil to cover the headers. It would be easy.
👍
Should be drained on side stand, or old oil will stay inside.
Then fill on stand?
I use aluminum foil to cover the pipes
FYI 06 Gsxr is the K6 series not k7 series

Also, you're using fully synthetic motel oil.. lol
Fairing off. Be gentle with your Allen key rounding them out sucks. Star key is a better use.
2200 when changing oil only, 3200 with filter.
Isn't it like 2.5 or 2.8 with filter?

"2006 k7" 😂😂😆😆
