The only thing different I do is, I keep the drain plug out, and then oil filter, might as well keep it draining. and the cap is better to be taken out because of air
I know how to spot exterior damage on a bike. It's pretty obvious when an engine case is scratched. Probably my biggest fear is when the inside of the engine is damaged. Is there a way to determine if the engine is burning oil? I've heard of some ways that it can be concealed by using higher viscosity oils. Any hints?
Having a Superbike and thinking the oil is not gonna be black, is like having a lighter and thinking you are a dragon. Lol but that's messed up about the filter they might have changed the oil and not the filter, but you can't trust dealers, nice bike I have the same one love it. Ride safe.
Hey there i dont know if you still respond to this. Great vid but im having some issues removing my fairings ive taken off the clips and so on but it seems to be stuck on the connector plastic in the bottom middle. aswell as on the side how much force did u use and so on
I have a 2008 Gsxr 600 and I was wondering if the drain plug has a washer? When I took the drain bolt out, there was no washer that came with it and my bike doesn't leak at all. It look just like your drain plug.
Hope someone sees this comment and knows the answer. I just did my first oil change and I put in 2.5 quarts and the level looked great but after running it I see nothing,I checked back about 45mins later and still nothing... no leaks but still nothing in the glass Thoughts??
I have a simple question , does the bike tells you in somehow that she needs an oil change , or you just count it from the miles or something like that ??? pls I need an answer !!!!!!
+Rajoun Yassine mainly you can tell by the smell of the oil, sometimes the color, but mainly by the mileage. For example if you get 5000 mile oil, then change at 5000 miles.

@JayPee, can we change the filter by removing the right fairing? The frame slider is bent on the left, so removing the left fairing is going to be a problem.
+Rakesh Reddy I'd honestly recommend changing the frame slider as well. If it's bent then it's integrity is compromised and if it falls again, might break the bolt that screws in the frame. But to answer your question, yes, you should be able to change it from both sides although the right side will be a little more of a task.
I have 750 2013 and since i purchase it I have not once took it to a dealer to do repetitive MX. I could not see speding 200 bucks. I do buy my material from the dealer Oil motor and filter. I first did my oil change at 500 miles and again at 1500, 3000 & 5000 miles. From what I know most people do it every 3000 miles that all depends on how much you ride or how hard. I clean and lube my chain every 1000 miles. Keep record and reciptes for safety reasons. anything have dealer do it
Your bike is probably doing fine but I would never use non-synthetic oil or a Scam filter (Fram) nothing but OEM filter for these bikes, maybe the K&N. I use Castrol Actevo 10w-40 part synthetic if your running tight on $$$ or full Castrol synthetic every 3k miles for street use on my K8. Good vid, find a trust worthy dealership if you can.
Fram are the cheapest and worst filters available. Do yourself a favor and invest in something better that filters down to smaller a micron size. Also, all oil will turn black. It's normal. It happens from small amounts of compression getting past the rings, and exhaust residue inside the engine.
When you replace oil, take your bike off the rear stand. You always check the oil level with the bike on the wheels and straight. Good vid btw

I would love to, unfortunately I was t-boned on this bike and it was totaled.
JayPee that sucks I hope you ended up ok, yeah those Gremlin bells really don't work Bud. I hope you got a new bike and started riding again?
Changed my oil and filter tonight for the fist time thanks to this video... I have to go get more oil though, I only added 2qts.
The only thing different I do is, I keep the drain plug out, and then oil filter, might as well keep it draining. and the cap is better to be taken out because of air
Enjoyed the video, thanks for the tips, its a Nos Dha from wet n windy Cornwall England.
Hey good video but you do realize that you can buy OEM oil filters right? That's all I use on my 05 GSXR 600 and 2014 GSXR 1000.
Have you ever thought about going to the texas mile?
can i just use the original side stand if i don't have a rear stand?
The metal shaving is normal u getting that as the engine gets broken in and the oem filter can be bought at any dealership

How much quantity of oil a GSX-R 600 engine needs ?
same question
Thank you very much, was very helpful. ✌from Tijuana MX
Where you get that funnel from??
Typically Oreileys carries them, but can also check any hardware store. Even Walmart in the automotive section.
the ending of this video really made me feel uncomfortable.......

Sometimes fairing plastics are held together pretty well. It should be able to take a decent amount of force. Wrote popping without breaking.
@@JayPee yeah im kinda struggeling lol
@@petter3384 It’s all good, LOL. Make sure to check for pushpins so you don’t try to pop them out before removing them.
Why you got your toes hangin out like that?

+6footNinja There shouldn't be a washer
+6footNinja There shouldn't be a washer
Alright thank you!
What's a washer?
why do people wrap the headers, it just burns off when you fire it up, you should really warm the oil before draining,
Because it promotes minimal coating in oil and yes it'll burn off but who wants to smell burnt oil while its burning off.
Thank you for this vid. Its was very useful.
Hey jp can you make a top speed run?
Haha the ending was funny! great vid!
Hey what's up brother
I got a 2007 600
10500 miles on it and stay in Los Angeles what kind of oil you suggest??
Hi Jay Pee ... What are those 2 hoses attached to your fairing ?
Fuel drain hoses, for when you put too much fuel in the tank, it acts as an overflow valve.
Gettings from Victoria Texas brosef. I also liber in Texas and I also have that same year and color bike.. haha
Hope someone sees this comment and knows the answer.

Thoughts??
Dirty oil is usually an indication the oil is doing its job. Also dealership will replace your oil filter with the factory oem filter.
thank you for sharing the skills and knowledge

I have a 2009 gsxr 750 and if my oil was that dark I would be crying. Never trust a dealership scammers.
Where did u bought that oil filter??
If you don’t know what oil goes in your bike look in your manual. If you don’t have a manual, they’re online.
Thanks for the tips bro!! I can see that all those years of masturbating paid off!!! hahahaaa, that was funny!!
I hope you added more oil
How much oil in litres you put in? Tnx

I already have one, but I'll make another one for you with this new exhaust :)
i have that same funnel i use it as a beer bong lol Walmart 3$
How much oil is entering
About 2.2L without a filter and 2.5L with a filter should be the correct amount.
4:51 😂😂💀💀
If I could afford it, I'd love to go, it's only a short distance away.
I used 10W-40 Mobil 1 oil. NON synthetic.
Cool vid
what kind of oil ?
10w-40

ty for the vid
NICE!
Also, if you brought it to a dealer, OF COURSE they used an OEM filter..
Take it off the rear stand before you check the level, with only the rear paddock stand it won't be accurate

FRAM Filters are the worst! Use anything but them.
I've always had a good experience with FRAM, them and Mobile 1
Next time level the bike out first.
Dealerships are a joke
You have done so many no no’s... it’s not even funny
