I’m 59 & mine ticks all the boxes put on a power tech carbon titanium slip on can, slightly higher screen and she’s set for touring or sport this bike covers both aspects even its classed a naked, best bike I ever owned.
I'm getting the bmw s1000r . You helped me to choose that bike vs. 2017 triumph speed triple 765. I know i cant go wrong with s1000r. Thanks for your review man! Keep up the good reviews.
Hey man I live in the states in South Carolina. I really enjoy your blogs. Your feedback of the s1000r was one of the reasons I got mine. Mine is white and a 2016 model brand new. Its been the best bike I've ever owned. I had a 2009 cbr1000rr Repsol that I did just about everything anyone could do to with up grades. I bought it brand new back in 09 and had it 8 wonderful years. I was wanting something more comfortable and test rode a lot of naked bikes. Then I rode the single R and fell in love. Made some small changes. Like getting rid of the big ass mud flap. Went with the tidy kit that yosh makes For an Absolutely perfect fit. Rad and oil cooler guards. Brighter lights on the front and even put a red led in the parking light in the high beam side. Looks pretty mean. Lol. Any ways just wanted to say I appreciate your videos and stay safe riding!!!
Congratulations, my friend. I'm in Ohio (USA) and we are limited by our dealership network. Fortunately there are numerous BMW dealers, I only wish we had more Ducati, Ktm and aprilia dealers around. Anyway, enjoy your new bike. Sub'ed.
Got one two days ago, right hooligan machine, great fun, hard seat, but does it go phew ! no shaking mirrors it’s a 17 model, not for commuting, just fun ! Not much good in the city I reckon cause it gets hot after a while, but twisty roads wow ! going at 40 seems like 70 so fast, only got it on road mode at moment, that’s enough for time being 😁
Why the fuck people in the UK complain about the weather? It's like a tropical paradise. Almost Christmas and there's no snow, sun is shining and the roads are dry. Over here 15.3.2017. -3ºC, it's sleeting and fucking miserable.
The gulf stream warms the UK. Equivalent latitudes are much colder. People like to complain. I recently moved to a place in New Zealand where average winter temp is 15ºC and people complain it's cold! It's all relative I guess.
Being 59 I had to give up the sports race reps, the neck, wrists and back couldn’t take it anymore 🤣 didn’t know where to go, so being more upright was the remit, it was an inspirational moment 🤔BMW picked my 7000 miler 14 plate up this Friday, can’t keep off it, seriously as a sports cruiser this does the lot. If your thinking about one don’t bother thinking just buy it, you will I promise not regret it.
Do you have any suggestions for suspension settings? I can’t seem to get this thing stable mid corner, I have the rear sag set to 30mm for my 185lb weight. But it wallows around at speed, help me please!!!! Ty nice vid ❤
The difference between this and the 1000RR is torque and fairings? I was talking to a guy I used to work with and he said the 1000R is less track orientated and the RR is really well suited for track riding.
If it's any consolation it's raining and "cold" (58 degrees) here in California also. I own a '14 S1000R and love it. That 4 cylinder burbling and popping along is music.....P.S. does the '16 model have quick shift up AND down? Mine is quick shift up only.
I just got the exact same 2015 bike and I love it. However my has a slight "ticking noise" (reading online forums about the issue didn't help lol) coming from the engine. Do you have that on yours? Thank you
You've swung it for me ha. I've got a street triple R 59 plate and it had to be good to change, looked at MT10 liked it but then looked at s1000r and yer your so right
Awesome!! Didn't realise u had actually bought one too after watching ur test vlog 😀 ...notices uve changed ur leavers, how was it changing the clutch leaver without bending the micro switches for the quick shifter? any problems or pretty straight forward?
Hey , there you are again.. found you earlier today as a bud was suggesting to take a look at the your zuki gsxr600.. and was wondering what you might think of a bike like mine an 08 BMW k1200s... this pretty well tells me as , though updated , this ride sound familiar to mine.. again a great post , cheers
Great decision on bike love those pops! I thought you had gone for the fireblade, can I ask why you chose to bypass the blade? Also did you consider Tuono or a 959 Panigale?
I'm torn between this and the Super Duke R. The main concern for me is the wide steering angle the S1000R apparently has. Is it really as bad as it's made out?
+Erel H L So far it's not been a problem. But it can't be as bad as my GSXR so that's probably why I don't notice an issue. Which ever one you choose I'm sure you won't be let down.
Erel H L it's on par with any supersport, after all it's basically an RR without fairings, it's the same frame. Had mine for a season now and sometimes I have to make a two point turn, but it's not all bad. I'm a bit short, so the steering, and relative "top heaviness" of the bike, makes parking a little exhausting at times, but you learn to plan your parking.
I have 2017 s1000r most my friends have the rr but I like these bikes a few mods ur done no more speed really needed.most parts are carbon.ceramic bearings.race headers air filter lol
right that, according to consumer reports 50% have a major failure within 4 years, and they are among the best of the euro bikes, along with Ducati, same 50% major failure within 4 years. love em, but I'll stay Japanese
Got a brand new 2019 coming next Saturday, all black.
60 years old and feeling 20 again. (20 in my head)
I am 59 and feeling great about my own 2018 S1000R in M Sports color too
Trust me. You must be very, very careful when choosing this bike. Because it will transform you into a hooligan.

Garey Cooper haha I feel better for that. No just up.
no cruise control? that sucks. it comes standard here in aus, not an option.
I just got the exact same 2015 bike and I love it.

Yes the engines on these are quite tappy.
You've swung it for me ha. I've got a street triple R 59 plate and it had to be good to change, looked at MT10 liked it but then looked at s1000r and yer your so right
Can't wait to get one.
You sound like David Beckham 😀. Lovely bike. I wish I had one!
David Beckham isn't from Norfolk!!

What made you choose the R instead of the included extras of the RS

Great decision on bike love those pops! I thought you had gone for the fireblade, can I ask why you chose to bypass the blade? Also did you consider Tuono or a 959 Panigale?
Hi man! Nice bike you got there! Got one myself (red one tho :) ) I'm considering buying those adjustable break/clutch levers, how you fancy them?
what about downshifts ? does it do that . ? i mean quickshifter

I have 2017 s1000r most my friends have the rr but I like these bikes a few mods ur done no more speed really needed.most parts are carbon.ceramic bearings.race headers air filter lol
Did you fix the shaking mirror issue? I am looking and deciding between the 2016 or 2017 version of S1000R. Thank you
E.S. Slc - Unfortunately I haven't upgraded the mirrors yet. If you can afford it go for the 2017
I'm looking for a new toy myself. What about the Super Duke? Did you ride that one?
+Aaron M . No I haven't ridden one yet.... yet
