Thank you for this video! I'm a new sewer (I got a used machine in October) and just got a job as a vaccinator so am eager to have at least a scrub top to wear over my regular clothes! If this goes well I'll move onto the scub bottoms!

I think this is the best sewing video I've ever seen. Thank you so much. I'm not a novice but wanted to find the best way of sewing scrubs; I'm making a set for my niece. I love the way you inserted the sleeves too, think I'll always be doing that from now on. And the pocket tip was very good, will make them so neat. I'll be back for the trousers video 😉 I have subscribed.
Excellent tutorial, I have been sewing professionally for over 50 years and was interested to see how scrubs are done having cut out and made up 14 sets this week.I did like the tutors attitude to getting the job done too as she is right they are needed quickly. I thought the sewing machine was quite awful though, tinny, and appeared to wobble and make the tutors work quite difficult.
Hello....Thankyou for your frank and honest comments. I have several sewing machines but felt it was good to show an entry level machine for this so as to make it appealing to any level of sewer. As for the wobbling etc....if you saw the angle at which I have to sew in order to negotiate a clear view for the camera, this might explain this. Flattered that even with your 5 more years experience than me, I was able to impress you. Thankyou. Tree X ...and thankyou for making Scrubs X

I am looking to buy a new sewing machine as mine is 40 years old and noisy! I already have an over locker. Can you tell me what your Janome model is? I can't quite see the number. Great tutorial!! Having made nearly 500 bags. I'm now going on to scrubs!! Your tutorial is very easy to follow. I made one set of scrubs on Friday but nearly gave up because of the neck facing! I will follow your instructions on the next set!!! Many thanks 😊👍🏻

Hi. Thank you for this tutorial. I’m watching it for the first time. How do I get the free pattern for the scrubs? I looked on the web site but was unable to find it. This tutorial is very helpful. I think I’ll finally be brave enough to try it .
Thank you so much for this great video! I wasn't sure if I'd have enough sewing knowledge to make scrubs, but found your instructions clear and straightforward - so far, so good! I'm not sure how much space to leave between the Vee neck and the top-stitching, though, is there any set distance, please? Thanks again for making this freely available 😊😘
If you cut the facing to be the same width all round, you could use that as your guide and just sew 1cm in from the raw edge. Have fun and of you do have a go at making Scrubs. Thankyou. X
STITCHLESS TV how to sew your own style tutorials Thank you for your reply. I'll do that! I have a couple of extra questions - sorry. How much cord do I need for the waistband for the pants (eg small size) please? Also, I've now made two tops and am not happy with the sideslits - they aren't particularly straight. Do you have any hints and tips to keep them neat, please? Thank you again for this. I know I would have found this very daunting without your help xx
Hi Tree, You make it all look so easy but I think I can’t do this because of the sleeves. Surely it would be easy to have a grown on sleeve? Also would you need to cut the sleeves on the bias? I’m a beginner quilter so it’s all alien to me including the 1cm seam allowance! Oh well, many thanks and love your dress.
If you use a pattern with grown in sleeves, how do you clip into the overlocked side edges under the arm to ease the curve? Thanks for such a good tutorial. 😊
Well....you don't really....just make the seam allowance very small and press with top flat....as if it's a cardboard cut out of a top.. Hope that helps
hi, I find your tutorial really helpful. It's my first time to try and sew scrubs with my wife. We're both "trying hard" DIYers and we have not really worked with patterns much. Do I need to add allowance all around every piece of the pattern? I am just starting to put together the front and the back facing. I added allowance all around each and it doesn't look the same as what you have? Any advice you can tell me before I waste a lot more of fabrics?;) Cheers...
The Sew Different Sewing Pattern that I have showed in the video, has a 1cm seam allowance included. Other patterns will say somewhere on the pattern or instructions. It is important to know. Good luck with the Scrubs and feel free to ask if you have any other questions. But do watch the videos as hopefully most of the answers will be in them. Thankyou, Tree
Oh....yes, I only talk through it when making the nurses scrubs top. Let's try here by text.....cut 2 pockets, stitch together leaving opening to turn right way and bag out. Cut 1 more pocket, fold over right sides together, sew sides....turn right way round. Stitch pocket on as usual, top stitch pocket flap around outer edge then stitch to trousers, 1cm above pocket opening, along the top edge of flap......Is that any good? Tree
Novice here: Question Why not when you hem the front and back hem the sleeves too. Then sew sides shut right from the top of the side slit straight to the sleeve end?
great video! love the sleeves, only the pattern i download is all one piece for sleeves and front/back. is there somewhere i can find the ste in sleeves. thanks a million

Hi Tee, just a quick question. I used iron on interfacing on neckline. After the 3cm topstitch that pattern advises there is still facing with the interfacing that is not enclosed . Will this wash ok or am I meant to trim it back to the 3cm stitch line ?.
Honestly.....If you are sewing with a Poly Cotton, I wouldn't even bother with the interfacing. If you like it for stabilising the diagonal, then just add a strip. As for the exposed interfacing that you have now, could you do another topstitch that follows the line of the edge of facing, just to trap what you have? Otherwise, tear it off. Not sure any of that helps... Tree x
Hi Tree. Another fab tutorial thank you. I'm making my first set but am struggling with marking the sleeve notches as there are no markings on the pattern. Can you explain how you find where to botch please.
So....they are not on this basic pattern but find a place in the front armhole and then match it up with sleeve and the do same for the back but put 2 notches close together rather than 1 to signify the back. See the position of mine to help decide where to put them. Hope that helps. X
Yes but use a needle for stretch fabric and some seams that may stretch might need to be a zig zag or lightening stitch and if the hems ate going to stretch then use a twin needle. Of nothing is going to be stretched and all is loose fitting, then don't worry so much.
It wasn't mentioned whether that neck piece is sewn all the way around however it looks like you've overlocked it so I'm not sure whether I need to attach the facings together and then sew round or not?
Hello there....at 5.35mins into the film....hopefully we answer you question. Yes, stitch facing together and yes, then attach to neckline, right sides together and sew all the way round....but....it hopefully how's you in the video
@@StitchlessTVwell, I thought a yard and a quarter would be enough. Well, the fabric was directional. That made for needing to piece the back.. I have all cut out will sew hope fully before Thursday and see if it fits. If it does then I can do more.

Yes if you could show how to have a dickie on the neckline. For a more modest neckline, but that one could use a different fabric for a layered look without all the heat of actually wearing a full nother layer beneath it. Thank you.

How do you cut a material for making a female doctor uniform sult.
It's all in the video or written on the pattern. If you are asking for a more fitted Scrubs Top, I have not made one as there has not been a demand for this over here.
Ma'amm pls I need a sewing machine
I'm sorry but I can't help you. You do see some cheap ones on ebay
Yes if you could show how to have a dickie on the neckline. For a more modest neckline, but that one could use a different fabric for a layered look without all the heat of actually wearing a full nother layer beneath it. Thank you.
