Alan speaks so beautifully on the concept of the Void and Annihilation in this lecture. I find it incredibly humbling to experience these feelings of this crossover through my own internal death to the self. The true joy is in the understanding of these concepts and nothing truly ends. ❤
A beautiful reflection on Watts' teaching about the Void. It's profound how what seems terrifying at first - the dissolution of self - can become a source of joy and understanding. Your insight that "nothing truly ends" captures the essence of what Watts conveys about the eternal dance of the universe. These aren't just philosophical concepts but, as you've experienced, deep truths that can be felt in one's own journey of self-discovery. ❤️
I’m sincerely scared that if I let go my family will think I’ve abandoned them. Not death, but serenity. I’d be different. Without my problems most people can’t relate.
His way of explaining consciousness as something that isn't confined to our individual minds, but is the fundamental nature of existence itself, always gives me a profound sense of connection to everything. Really makes you realize that the 'I' we think we are is just the universe playing an elaborate game of hide and seek with itself.
I appreciate your deep connection to Alan Watts' teachings! While I understand the profound impact he had his lectures on the nature of consciousness and reality really were extraordinary.
@@TheGunnCatI said that once years ago and got told off by it. They didn't quite get what I meant. I listen to Alan Watts a lot and comprehend a lot but the way I act doesn't seem to go down well with others 😊
I think Alan says it best "Through our eyes, the universe is perceiving itself. Through our ears, the universe is listening to its harmonies. We are the witnesses through which the universe becomes conscious of its glory, of its magnificence.". Thank you for being a part of the cosmic dance we all share
Absolutely authentic Alan Watts Voice - No AI voice. His work continues to resonate because it comes from a place of genuine exploration and understanding rather than a desire to preach or convert.
@ No it is not authentic. Even if you preach the same "ideas" that does not mean it's authentic. It is separate. Alan watts' "ideas" have been echoed for thousands of years. I would rather a real human tell me about what humans experiences than an algorithm scanning a transcript
In my childhood memories, I don't believe my parents tried to rule over me and my decisions. Of course they were busy with seven kids, so that could be why. Never the less, the world tried to mold and control me and nearly succeeded. But for some reason it hasn't taken root to the point of making me into this or that. I will offer this thought. To know thyself is an on going game. The minute you figure you out, you will grow or change your mind and be someone else!😂😂😂😂
Your words resonate with a profound truth about the fluid nature of human identity. There's something beautifully liberating in your observation about growing up with relative autonomy - whether by design or circumstance - and how this shaped your resistance to external molding. Perhaps true wisdom lies not in achieving perfect self-knowledge, but in embracing this constant evolution - remaining curious about who we are becoming rather than clinging to who we think we are 😉
There's a point in the beginning of this lecture that has been censored out. I'm positive Allen would not approve of this. Sad state this world has become
Yes - you are the universe experiencing itself through this temporary form. Your consciousness isn't separate from the cosmic dance but is the universe's way of becoming aware of its own magnificent unfolding. Just as waves arise from and return to the ocean, your individual awareness emerges from and dissolves back into the infinite consciousness that underlies all existence.
I think it’s been edited at that spot - the example of “false speech” he was about to give is interrupted/deleted, but it sure sounds like Alan Watts to me.

This was a good Let's Play... I found the consciousness expanding to be a particularly good part of this game.

So happy to live to hear this. Allen is God talking directly to us - and I lived when he lived:). He is a top Brahmin

It's definitely frustrating when important content gets censored. We need to keep advocating for open discussions and transparency in our lectures.
Rocks are as important as people. If you disagree...I say to you.........washer machinery 😂
@crispychris7484 😂 It all goes together, those rocks are just as much you as your finger nails.
What wss censored? What time in video
Quit with the AI pictures of Alan..tgey do not look like him and are shit

Wtf happened at 28:01??
Forbidden word probably :)
“The Hospital for Delightful Dying” should be a TV show
It would be a unique tone that could balance the gravity of death with moments of joy, connection and finding beauty in life's final chapter.
Its an old recording ❤
Alan is great, but the sudden loud guitar music and announcement that "now comes the next bit" is completely unnecessary
Agreed, can you cut this out please?
Hi can you advise on the time?

It’s pretty gross how many commercials are shoved into this lecture. Alan would never approve
