Oh my God.. this is super amazing.. really love it 2D 3D Animation. We have follow the rig step, hope we can make simply like this.. Amazing video James ...
so the only 3d model in the scene is the ice cream cart. Also, what shader will allow for say a special effect such as a lighting bolt in the distance?
I keep away from scripting in general. I'll write the odd expression to drive controls or a deformer based on another object's translation values, and I'll create simple shelf buttons (MEL) for selection sets... but that's pretty much it. I see myself as an animator first, I model and rig but stop short of getting into any real scripting.
Hey James, I was so impressed by all your works and workflow tutorials. THAT ALL AWSOME! I will make an apology my poor english. I would ask some question. If you answer, I will so happy and I can make more awsome work! I'm making graduate animation now! I wonder. Can cinema 4d make same 2d - 3d ( which is introduced by you ) animation process and animating result like maya you introduced? I am using maya and c4d. But I am not sure c4d is good at character animating like maya. Maya is totally optimized in character animation I think. But c4d is more focus on mograph and simulation. Of cource, c4d can make character animation like maya. ( I'm not sure c4d contains facial animation tools like maya..) You think c4d can make 2d-3d(2.5d?) animation like maya? If not, there is no other choice except using maya? Thank you for reading my long boring question james! I will so glad by your answer~.
The concepts that I use for modeling and rigging should applied to 3D software in general. I haven't used Cinema 4D but I would look for similar tools that we use in Maya. Good Luck!
Could I just import layers from AI into Maya and give them treatment?? 🤔 someone smell what I’m saying. I’m pretty knew to this but I may have just found exactly what I was looking for. I’m very impressed to say the least.
You can bring in an image and use it as a texture on geometry, if you use an alpha channel or transparency maps you can hide any extra geometry you don't want to render. But I don't know if you can import AI vectors and convert them to geometry in Maya. I bet that Autodesk has a script or way to do this since they have so many other design software beyond Maya. I looked for an option to do this in Maya but can't find anything, if I figure it out than I'll let you know. Cheers,
I'm sure that you could do a similar technique in Blender. Maya is just my tool of choice; the modeling tools are great, and it's the best animation software I've used.
Incredible, this entire series is exciting!
Shockingly underrated channel comparing the excellent contents shared here! Hats off, mate!
agree,. this is a real pro level content

This gives me a new love for maya right now.
the hand control is brilliant!
This is awesome! I have been binging your videos today. Please make more! I'd love to see more of your techniques for the more advanced character.
Nice breakdown !
YES!!! more please!!!
I love seeing things like this
Absolutely Brilliant and Artistic. Thank you so much for sharing these valuable knowledge with us
well done james. keep it up!
excellent, could you make ik tutorial aswell for the arms pls?
Very nice! Excellent breakdown
I loved it!! Thank you for the tutorial
Amazing work james. Can't wait for the next character to be rigged.
Thanks for sharing
Hi, I'm super happy found your channel :). it helps me a lot. Could I ask how to render these 2D in maya? thank you!
Hell yeah!
hey 10 watch it already , pls make more great video like this pls
10 times watched
Very good Chanel

Wow 🤯
Do you use Python (or MEL) at all to ease some of the more monotonous processes of rigging?

what program do you use? and whatever your using do you haft to pay? im looking for animation programs for free thats 2d and have charcter rigging.

How did you Import those Multiplane layouts ?
Pretty interesting. Have you tried animating on 2's (12FPS) so the animation looks more 2D-ish?
make mor 2d tutorils pls
wow
Please keep the link to download a character.
I was wondering why you're doing this instead of using something like toonboom?
Maya is better for 3d and I think he just wanted to achieve a 2d 3d animation

but try to make and where is the human hair face please what is interesting in 2D in 3D in 360 2D
Are you able to do this in blender
