This ended up in my recs, and as someone who regularly misses the older internet and rewatches content from like 2011-2016, I totally get what you mean! I miss how everything used to be down to earth. I love that creators can get financial support for their videos, but there was something special about the style of videos that came out before monetization was ever a possibility on RUclips, when people we making content just for fun.
girl i loved this video!! what you said about how RUclips has changed its so real, i also feel like now people are more focused on the views and the numbers of subscribers/followers and they just wanna get money for what they do, it's insane!! thank you for this!! i hope you can do more podcast episodes and talk about a lot of fun stuff! i loved this one 😊
I've had a lot of the same thoughts. Completely get what you're saying. I've wanted to make a youtube channel for a while, but I hate the current social media climate, I hate the entrepreneurship of it all. I recommend avoiding short form content as much as possible.
I think Steph Bohrer is a great example of a youtuber who doesn't do too many crazy things. Her recent vlogs are a bit more sociable but a lot are of her just chilling in her own company and I love those vlogs so much.
Pup❤
Truth is thats just a rule of life, with innovation we lose the charm of what we enjoyed so much, RUclips has become a business because people were more drawn to videos with big budgets, so the charm of RUclips being for single creators is lost
