    Soak the dhal for 1 hour.

      Mam....We use to add raw rice with dhal and grind in mixie mam.....But we add lesser quantity of rice....compared to the wet grinder measurements......The vada will be crispier for even after sometime mam.....End result will be good..

      Yes i add idli rice to ulundhu and soak for 3 hrs to grind in mixie .. vada will be soft till the evening .. suppose if the ulundhu vadai mavoo is little watery I use tea filter for shaping vada .. oh hhhh there comes vada excellently and shape also comes like grinder vada

    Hi Madam,
    I never had sucess in making vada and it always ended up drinking oil. I followed the steps as demonstrated and got non-greasy vadas with perfect texture. I did not add rice flour as my batter was quite thick. Thanks for teaching this. I swear by this method now 🙏

    Amma, I tried this vadai today. It came out really well. I didn't expect this much taste and texture. Everybody in my family is fond of this vadai. But, it won't come right without the grinder. Because my family is small I'm strained to do this in grinder. But now it becomes so easy and I'm going to do this frequently here after. Thank you so much amma. I was brought up by my grand mother. She died before my marriage. I really miss her, after started watching you I'm happy because you look like my grand mother. I used to call her amma. That's I'm calling you amma.... Thank you amma....

    Successfully done on vinayaka chaturthi day. For half cup ulundhu got 16 meduvadais. Tasted awesome and crisp.

    I soak urad dal in fridge for 3to4 hours, grinding 25% urad dal in mixcy first with required amount of salt and keep aside, grinding remaining urad dal and add to previous batch. Now add rice flour, salt onions... mix well. Make vadas. U get perfect.
    Adding salt at end makes batter watery .
    Adding salt while grinding whole batch of urad dal also not fluff up the batter well, that's reason grinding with salt into small portion of urad dal.
