As a singer, it’s rlly not that hard😅
Once you’re familiar enough with a song to know how to properly sing it in normal key, harmonising can be instinctive depending on whether the original key is “harmonisable”. There are some songs where finding a harmony would be rlly hard, but not all. Pop songs are especially easy to harmonise to👍
If you want to learn, I suggest listening to a song like Sucker by the Jonas brothers. Just go three notes up from the original note and voila, you’re harmonising👌
To make a layered harmony for recordings, just sing 3 notes up, another 3 notes up, and if u can, ANOTHER 3 notes up. Then from the original note sing 3 notes down, and another 3 notes down. If you ca accomplish another, then another 3 notes down. It’s actually very simple

@@spaghettiwithmeatballs5111 ya that is definitely very hard to do when trying to harmonise for the first time, it is very difficult to concentrate on singing a seperate note when your ears are being bombarded and filled by a note that your brain automatically assigns as “the right note”, also when you can’t hear yourself because of all the surrounding noise. But with practice it gets easier until you can ignore all other notes and focus wholly on your own pitch tho😊

As long as you are not tone-deaf and you have developed your skill of harmonizing for a long time, yeah it’s easy. I discovered that I can harmonize on the spot when I was around 10 years old. Just sharing btw.
