It was me Barry, I was the one that made sure Ezra Miller ruined the movie's reputation and your character's reputation, and with that also destroying the DCEU - Something Reverse Flash would say
To bad the Flash movie didn't have Barry Mother said the most important thing, the Serenity Prayer quote she said to Barry in Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox "Accept the things you cannot change, have the courage to change the things you can and have the wisdom to know the difference ".
I’m pretty sure they kept his time alteration a secret in The Flashpoint Paradox because as soon as he knows what needs to be fixed, he’ll do it. If he knew what he had to do, but spent the whole movie trying to find a different way of saving the world, it would’ve just felt like a waste of time. His allies would be like, “What are you doing? You’re just wasting time and letting more people die!” It was kinda the same in the comics. But at least in the comics, he went back to talk to his mother before restoring the timeline. Flashpoint is still better than Flash 2023, IMO.
My main problem with the arc in The flash movie is that Barry learns to leave the past alone and not to mess with it because he saw what the timeline became when he tried to save his mom. So he lets his mom die without interfering in the past. But then immediately messes with time to make sure his dad is let off in the present. That single decision angered me to no end.
I like James Gunn’s movies from Marvel & DC, but I don’t have confidence in him anymore. He didn’t have involvement in this movie, yet still had to market it with the BS claim it was the GREATEST THING! It wasn’t even a good movie. Just mediocre 5/10! 😑 Waste of time.
@@ParkerCS-dh7rf I would even have to say that the Percy Jackson and the last Airbender movie were leagues better. And I kinda like those two movies, and they have never done anything as bad as the flash movie,
I wish they had kept the final goodbye between Barry and his mother that is in the original Flashpoint comic for the animated movie because without that Nora disappears from the story in the ending when she is the whole reason Flashpoint happened in the first place x3x)
And that's why, from an emotional standpoint, the cw adaptation is weirdly the best (I'm only talking from emotional standpoilt, not story or action because that was quite underwhelming considering how short the flashpoint story was). It happens after barry's father dies, which is more impactful than just his appeal being rejected or a taunt. We see him save his mother. And then, to end the flashpoint, he doesn't just have to prevent himself from saving her, he has to let the reverse flash free so that he can kill his mother to bring things back to normal. And he is there while she dies to comfort her
@@docomega7862 The problem with that is that Barry's arc in the flashpoint episode is a repeat f his arc form s1 so emotionally its literally the same.
I think it's really great. The obscenely buff heroes was a bit distracting, but nothing too bad. I think they handled the some of the best parts of the comics really well and dropped a few things that desperately needed to be dropped. I was pleased with the content. There was really one scene I thought was missing involving an interaction between (POTENTIAL SPOILERS) Barry and his mother at the end.
As of typing this it’s made 470 million at the box office, might fall short of 500 million but it is turning a profit. Heck it made more than ROTB at the box office lol.
3 questions 1. How would you feel if Flash got an actual solo animated movie exploring Central City his rogues gallery etc ? 2. What was wrong with most of the new 52 DC animated movies ? 3. What do you think of Jayden Smith as a person ?
Don't forget how Flashpoint Paradox actually uses real Flash villains. Professor Zoom/Reverse Flash is the biggest one but there's the Rogues in the beginning too. I also disagree that he he doesn't have an emotional arc. It's not as prominent but it's there with the flashbacks to his mother and the lesson he needed to learn. It unfortunately didn't keep the scene from the comic where he says goodbye to his mother. Otherwise, the impact of the altered timeline and everyone else was better too. Also, yeah the CW show, while becoming worse over time, did do a lot of what the film did but better. Barry's emotional arc with his mother, having an alternate evil future self created from Flashpoint (Savitar), and the Multiverse.
They really could've done a very faithful adaptation if they wanted to, except Thawne they already had every single character and actor, it would've been really cool watching Jeffrey Dean Morgan playing Thomas Wayne's Batman

In terms of Barry's mom death in the movie we never actually know if he saved his actual mother in his original timeline he just creates a new one with a completely different backstory and Barry so reverse flash could have still killed his mom. For the villains I think the movie takes it cause it makes more sense and feels more deeper related to the flash himself as making him the villain.

@@austinstino7571 Oh, I respect your opinion for liking that scene because of that, I don't respect it though, because of the director. If it's the same one that said the graphics are bad because "that's how the flash sees the world"
I think the fact that the flash movie had it’s ending and probably many other aspects of it changed up until the last minute really shows. The film has tons of footage from the trailers that never made it and a lot of behind the scenes footage that never appeared such as Keaton’s Batman and Supergirl at the end of the movie.
Finally the video I have been waiting for a long time. I was surprised with some of the credit you were giving to the Flash, I thought you would be downright negative with it. But you kept your criticisms for both films at a balance which I am impressed about. Overall great video and hope to see more like this soon.
18:56 there are some great exceptions I'd say. Death and Return of Superman (Death + Reign) and Man of Tomorrow were great. The Long Halloween is an imperfect adaptation but it was good too. I agree with you, Eric. I was so happy that Keaton’s Batman was still his same self when we saw him in this film despite being older. Plus, I was giddy in the theater when I heard the iconic theme from Danny Elfman.
Okay, if live action movie stayed faithful to the original storyline (but gives him the emotional character arc and and shows us him, saving his mum from the beginning) it would’ve been the best
There’s a lot of things you said about both movies I was hoping for. I think they should’ve delayed the whole movie, Blue Beetle and Aquaman 2 just to let everyone calm down about everything in DC. I’m surprised that you didn’t use music from either movies. Well, the soundtracks from both movies are pretty quiet. Even on a loud volume. Lol. But if The Flash was given more time, and Walter Hamada had an intelligence behind his universe, despite the flaws, it would’ve been a better experience. I didn’t want the Flash to be a Copy and Paste of Flashpoint Paradox because I wanted it to do its own thing. But with Henry Cavill Fired and all his scenes were cut from the movie, we don’t have a movie that can give a goodbye to him. Ben Affleck’s suit looked kinda cool in concept, but I wish the costume designers had a better execution to the costume. The new Keaton Suit was a revolutionary design over the course of 30 years. But if more members of the league were in the movie, then I think it should’ve been a Justice League movie, but in Barry’s perspective and his side of the story. Like Paradox movie. And the last great DC animated movie I loved was Gods and Monsters animated movie. Thanks for setting it all straight for us Eric! If only more people would listen to you!
I was not expecting this video to go down the way it did. Color me surprised. While I enjoyed The Flash slightly less than you did (the closing moments of the film + it's post credits scene really soured my love for the story), I thought it was creatively directed, superbly acted and surprisingly emotional. The movie perfectly encapsulated what the DCEU could've been under proper guidance and it was glorious, albeit short-lived. Given the film's online reputation, plus me being such a big fan of the animated Flashpoint Paradox, I wasn't expecting the consensus to be this tight a race. Great video!
18:53 I would’ve love to see my blue and red Harley Quinn adapted. Now, some of them weren’t new 52 stories, they were just adapted in the new 52 style. And how is adapting the new 52 bad?
It just recently hit the brake even point. So it didn't lose Disney money, but it didn't really make them any either. But yeah, when I was editing this video, the movie was a flop. But it made the turnaround right before I was ready to publish the video. 😅
21:35. I could be wrong but apparently they used George Clooney for this scene because they originally wanted Christian Bale to do the cameo and he said no, making Clooney the only option left (Val Kilmer wouldn’t have been able to do it for health reasons).
I heard that too. That was Kevin Smith speculating, and the internet took it as a fact. For arguments sake, even if Christian Bale did show up, that would have also been a very bad call.
@@adamgrunther1367 I would have liked it to pull an Days of Future Past and set the universe on the right track. But instead they just went for (what felt like) a cheap laugh. I really hope that James Gunn doesn't put stuff like that in his DCU.

@@EricCarter12 oh ok I didn't find Oppenheimer review but I will find it again and the nun 2 was better than the first one but not so good I don't want to spoil it for you but the ending is disappointing and felt rush the scares were pretty decent and the story was very similar to the first one overall I would give it 5.5/10 or 6/10 at highest (the first nun movie for me was 5/10)
My issue with the flash movie is that Berry didn’t learn his lesson which was suppose to be that messing with the time line even something simple like moving the can of tomatoes isn’t worth it. But in the end he still messed with the time line by again moving the tomatoes. I would have liked him to actually let things happen hope they are suppose to. And focus on finding the actual killer.
19:37 I think you should add a 4th reason: It released alongside Across the Spiderverse. The film shot itself in the foot by thinking people would go to watch The Flash when something like Spiderman was going on in the theatres.

At least Thawne explained why the timeline changed so much. The Flash movie at least has an emotional moment between Barry and Nora that was needed in Flashpoint Paradox. Guess we can’t have it all.
On the point that the reverse flash wasn't nessasery, I disagree, he did have a point as a road block. As he was hogging all the speed force pereventing Barry from reversing time again. It wasn't till RF died could Barry run fast enough to reverse time and stop himself from saveing his mom.
There actually is a additional reason for barry changing the world back. Its to learn a lession that not everything can be changed, some things are the way they are. His mom legit brings up the theme of the movie at the start of flashpoint paradox.
DANGGG you summarized my exact thoughts... I was hearing all the hate that The Flash was getting and I was concerned but watching it the only bad things in the movie were the CGI and Ezra Miller LOL I just tried looking past the whole Ezra Miller situation really hard and the CGI never bothers me because come on as a child I would watch movies with CGI, which by today's standards, would be considered horrible and cheap. But I still enjoyed those movies, it was the same with this. It wasn't the worst CGI to ever exist but it was watchable lol.
the fact the original flashpoint concept for this movie was cannibalized into this thing depresses me becaus i just know, because of the flash, we will never see a faithfull adaptation of flashpoint, like ever
Reverse Flash actually instigated the whole flashpoint. In the beginning he taunted Flash and then psychologically pushed Barry to unknowingly change time, and then he was there to rub it in his face. Because RF could escape, but he wanted Barry to suffer and die with his choice. That’s likely why he’s supposedly the villain.
The reverse flash wouldn’t have changed his mind he didn’t kill her because in that alternate timeline the flash would’ve never existed since that young Barry wouldn’t have become the flash making it so reverse flash never existed Y’know? At least that’s how I see it
I'm rlly glad that someone is FINALLY acknowledging how good The Flash really is. It was fun, emotional and definetly deserved to be seen in cinemas, big shame it flopped though... (keep up the good work btw)
Actually in my personal opinion I love the Flashpoint Paradox the animated movie does not have any errors but I feel like the life action movie not be good as I always expect it 😅
The problem with the emotional ending is that while it is emotional. He still keeps changing the timeline. One Barry learned his lesson. The other is Ezra Miller. 😂
Nicholas Cage Superman and Michael Keaton Batman should’ve gotten movies instead of this mediocre Flash movie. 🫤 I hope WB and Tim Burton collaborate to hopefully to Batman beyond with Keaton at some point. Because The Flash 2023 was the wrong choice to put him in. It’s supposed to be Thomas Wayne, not another Bruce. Michael Keaton and the cgi Nick Cage cameo were the only good parts of the movie for me.
@Eric Carter, have you heard or read about the IDW Ninja Turtles comics, it is probably one the darkest adaptation (even darker than the 2003 cartoon) to ever come out of the TMNT franchise!
Hey buddy. No I haven't seen the movie yet. It was originally intended to be a streaming movie so I will watch it once it hits streaming. As for the character himself, I REALLY enjoyed him in Young Justice Season 2. Going by the trailer though, it's a shame that the movie doesn't seem to be following that.
Yeah I agree I love both movies for different and similar reasons, for me I give Justice League The Flashpoint Paradox a 9 out of 10 and I give The Flash a 8 out of 10 both movies for me are incredibly awesome and extremely entertaining 🤘⚡⚡⚡

The thing that amuses me is that the Flashpoint comic is just over a decade old, yet it’s pretty become the basis for every Flash media product since. And for comparison, the Barry Allen character has been around since the 1960s.
Being quite new to comics myself, I was shocked when I realized flashpoint was this recent. Being one of the biggest dc names, I thought it was made alongside the other classics like the killing joke or crisis on infinite earths. So when I learned that the flashpoint was what started the new 52, I was like, is it a second flashpoint or somethilg?

If only more people would listen to you!
great video, as always
Hey Eric, great video by the way. I want to ask have you seen My Adventures with Superman yet? If so, have you plan on making a review about it?
Oh man I think MAWS and Man of Tomorrow would make a great pairing for one of his versus videos too. A lot of similarities but also big differences.
Yay Eric has done these movies I’ve always wanted this as a video

18:53 I would’ve love to see my blue and red Harley Quinn adapted.
Now, some of them weren’t new 52 stories, they were just adapted in the new 52 style. And how is adapting the new 52 bad?
Elemental actually did a comeback at the box office, its not amazing or anything but its better than expected.
It just recently hit the brake even point. So it didn't lose Disney money, but it didn't really make them any either.
But yeah, when I was editing this video, the movie was a flop. But it made the turnaround right before I was ready to publish the video. 😅
Yeah.
@@EricCarter12What is your current favorite Pixar movie?
I’ll just keep laughing at WB’s embarrassing behavior with The Flash for years to come
A battle where it's close between an animated classic and a live action story??? It's a rare one folks
Great video! 👍
Justice League Dark VS Multiverse of Madness! Superhero Horror Stories!
Hey Eric, do you think you could do Avatar 1 vs Avatar 2 since you said you would do it?
Definitely. It's still on my to do list.
20:06 A much better adaptation than what we have here
Your content is top notch Eric, as usual
@@EricCarter12 what would you have preferred with that ending?
@@adamgrunther1367 I would have liked it to pull an Days of Future Past and set the universe on the right track. But instead they just went for (what felt like) a cheap laugh.
I really hope that James Gunn doesn't put stuff like that in his DCU.
@@EricCarter12 personally I didn’t hate it. At least this cameo was actually a living person and not a cgi double of a dead actor. I trust James Gunn. He knows when to add drama and when to add comedy so I think the DCU is gonna be fine.
@@adamgrunther1367 That's fair enough. I didn't hate it at first either. But the more I reflected on it, the more I grew to dislike it. I thought they could have done so much more with the ending to a movie like this.
Maybe the reason why reverse flash never killed barry's mom is because in the altered timeline, the world ended in 2013 because of zod's world engine
Um... Nora died in 2004, so the world ending nine years later is no excuse.
0:28 the first one
Hi eric your videos are really fun and enjoyable you are the only movie review channel i actually trust anyways have you watched the nun 2 movie what your thoughts about that movie can you do the nun 2 vs the nun 1 or the nun 2 vs Annabelle creation also
Have you done a review video of Oppenheimer I haven't seen it
Thanks so much for the kind words buddy. I really appreciate it.
No I haven't seen The Nun 2. I am not really in a rush to see it either after the first Nun movie was pretty bad. And from what I hear the second movie is better but not by a substantial amount.
Yes I have seen Oppenheimer, and I did a review of it too. Its on my channel. ;)
19:25 I have to agree on that. Cutting out a lot of stuff from the original is totally bull shit
14:51 This is worse than Chronos and Aries, being cut out from Percy Jackson
I initially thought the animated movie was gonna win all the way, but you made some valid points for both movies 🤔
Great video by the way 👍
If only the VFX on THE FLASH would've been like GoTG vol 3 level of Good
I would've watched that film over sometime in coming years again and more
19:37 I think you should add a 4th reason: It released alongside Across the Spiderverse. The film shot itself in the foot by thinking people would go to watch The Flash when something like Spiderman was going on in the theatres.
Do u think u will ever review TMNT Mutant mayhem?
I'm considering seeing it this Saturday. We'll see what happens.
@@EricCarter12Do you have high hopes for the film?
@@EricCarter12Do you have any ideas for review videos? You could do TMNT: Mutant Mayhem VS TMNT (2007) and break down which is the better animated ninja turtles movie. Or if you wanted to take it a step higher you could do a 4-way Versus video. Mutant Mayhem VS Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990) VS TMNT (2007) VS Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2014)
@@tombailey837 I'm more curious than anything. I honestly don't know what I will think of it. I'm personally just done with the lighter Turtles. I want a Turtles that more reflects the tone of the 2003 show and the 2007 movie.
@@EricCarter12 I get how you feel. I personally don't have a heavy preference with the Ninja turtles. I like both the darker toned and lighter toned material. It all just depends what mood I'm in I suppose. I think that's what's great about the franchise. There's something everyone can latch onto.
Thanks Eric, RUclips hasn't been telling me about your videos. Even videos with the bell I don't get notified for.
I agree with your points. Grant Gustin is still the best Flash, though he had to get the bad writing

Will you be doing an indiana jones 5 review?
8:23 but when he said no out loudly.
I couldn’t take him seriously
At least Thawne explained why the timeline changed so much. The Flash movie at least has an emotional moment between Barry and Nora that was needed in Flashpoint Paradox. Guess we can’t have it all.
Please do Transformers 1 vs 2 or elf vs elf on the shelf movie (or elf vs national lampoons Christmas vacation)🙏
I was hearing all the hate that The Flash was getting and I was concerned but watching it the only bad things in the movie were the CGI and Ezra Miller LOL
I just tried looking past the whole Ezra Miller situation really hard and the CGI never bothers me because come on as a child I would watch movies with CGI, which by today's standards, would be considered horrible and cheap.
But I still enjoyed those movies, it was the same with this. It wasn't the worst CGI to ever exist but it was watchable lol.
Nice Vid eric
0:23 I don't really care if Elemental is bombed, I just really enjoyed the movie at the theaters with my classmates for the field trip since June.
the fact the original flashpoint concept for this movie was cannibalized into this thing depresses me becaus i just know, because of the flash, we will never see a faithfull adaptation of flashpoint, like ever
Eric Carter is the best! 😎😊
At least that’s how I see it
14:28 That is so much better cell shaded 3D
I love your videos because your inspiring
I'm rlly glad that someone is FINALLY acknowledging how good The Flash really is. It was fun, emotional and definetly deserved to be seen in cinemas, big shame it flopped though... (keep up the good work btw)
I clicked faster than the train from spiderman 2
Actually in my personal opinion I love the Flashpoint Paradox the animated movie does not have any errors but I feel like the life action movie not be good as I always expect it 😅
Hey Eric, question. If u were ever given the chance to make a movie, what type movie would it be?
The problem with the emotional ending is that while it is emotional.
He still keeps changing the timeline.
One Barry learned his lesson.
The other is Ezra Miller.
😂
It would’ve been an interesting choice to have Nicholas Cage play flash point Superman
Although, I wish Nick cage actually was in the movie instead of the crappy cgi 🤮😑
@@ParkerCS-dh7rf I have to agree with you on that. It should’ve gone. Michael came as Thomas Wayne, the way they handled it in the movie very stupid.
@@ParkerCS-dh7rf I know, had no problem with the CGI, but I think it was unnecessary to use
@@mrkaji8913 yes.
Do Hulk (2003) vs The Incredible Hulk (2008)
@Eric Carter, have you heard or read about the IDW Ninja Turtles comics, it is probably one the darkest adaptation (even darker than the 2003 cartoon) to ever come out of the TMNT franchise!
Love and Thunder VS Fury of the Gods! Thor VS Shazam!
That’s like comparing Transformers 86 to Transformers The Last Knight
Batman has always been funny and it actually makes good character development
6:06 only for the emotional elements. But the rest goes straight to the flashpoint paradox.
Question Eric have you seen Blue Beetle Movie? And curious what are you thoughts on the Blue Beetle the Hero himself?
Will you do justice league zack syndey cut vs avengers infinity war
Yeah I agree I love both movies for different and similar reasons, for me I give Justice League The Flashpoint Paradox a 9 out of 10 and I give The Flash a 8 out of 10 both movies for me are incredibly awesome and extremely entertaining 🤘⚡⚡⚡
10:44 no, it’s straight up bad or even call it disaster falls
so basically this video is just an excuse for you to tell people to see ezra miller's the flash while failing to grasp and understand why the animated movie is far superior all because it doesn't meet your personal bias. way to show your ignorance of this story and the full BS that's coming out of why you say the ezra miller movie is better when it's not. it literally falls on it's face in multiple areas. I don't know what I was expecting at this point from your channel.
Hey Eric I wanted to know if you were going to do a review on the final movie
What do you mean the final movie?
The thing that amuses me is that the Flashpoint comic is just over a decade old, yet it’s pretty become the basis for every Flash media product since. And for comparison, the Barry Allen character has been around since the 1960s.
Being quite new to comics myself, I was shocked when I realized flashpoint was this recent. Being one of the biggest dc names, I thought it was made alongside the other classics like the killing joke or crisis on infinite earths. So when I learned that the flashpoint was what started the new 52, I was like, is it a second flashpoint or somethilg?
I can overlook all the real life drama of actors and stuff and only focus on the movie. good thing you made this video cause I really liked the flash but everyone else was saying it's bad so thanks for giving your opinion on letting me know why it did bad. I was like the movie is good what you mean it was bad now i get its the drama and actors and publicity stuff.
Can you do Transformers Rise Of The Beasts vs Transformers 86
Will you review sonic frontiers
Nope.
The fact that people are really not going to see Aquaman because of Amber Heard is so dumb. It's not her film, at all. I'm going to see it cause I like Moma and Wan. My love for those guys outweighs whatever happened between two grown ass adults. Grow up kids.
4:07 now that’s impressive
