Hello miss sky lol yes that is the bass drum or in our terminology kick drum. If you notice he’s doing the heel to toe technique it’s a double stoke that saves energy and can be very fast when done right. This guy has it down to a science

Not my type of metal, but I have to give credit to the drummers playing with this speed. I can't help but wonder how many hours of training and suffering these guys go through. And you have to keep in mind it isn't just for one song, they have to build stamina for a full concert. It's just mind blowing.
