Hello, I’m a small scale farmer. We raise chickens, ducks, turkey, rabbits, goats, cows, & pigs…. All on 1.5 acres. We have 1 pasture for our cows & goats with a pond (our cow is transported to a friends property during the winter where they can eat on 40 acres) & are supplemented with hay as well. Our pigs are confined outside with sun, they get hay, leftovers, & lots of fresh eggs. Our property is fenced in all the way around, the pasture acre is separated by fence to keep the goats & cows in that area. The ducks & chickens free range our property & also get leftovers, dehydrated egg shells, & if we have leftover eggs, they’ll get cooked & feed back to them. Rabbits are also confined, get hay & Timothy pellets. We will also give goats, cows, & pigs Timothy pellets if for some reason we can’t get hay.
Hay is a great substitute for grass if in confined areas & still want to raise animals yourself on a small plot. You can choose to give them their ancestral diet while in confined spaces as much as possible. Buy meal worms for your chicken/duck/turkey flock, get them nutritious food, make sure they get sun. All of our animals have always been healthy & happy!

Ive tried to avoid eggs for a while as Paul does, but I found that it was real problematic. I recently started adding them back in, and Ive felt quite a few benefits. Something like 48 eggs a week. I do make sure that they are pasture raised and soy-free, but those only have 20% less LA than conventional eggs. Eggs are just going to be too beneficial for some people to give up completely.

I recently cut out "pastured" eggs for a month to experiment, and realized I have a severe intolerance to egg whites upon reintroduction. Just one egg caused serious skin flaking. But if one isn't sensitive, they are great. Did not have an issue taking down 1 raw yolk every now and then for the nutrients. Apparently a lot of people have problems with eggs from the v accines we get as children having egg protein in them :(

But in reality, it would be better to just let nature do its own thing and therefore eat wild boar meat.

Said it on the last video and I’ll say it again. Idaho pasture pigs are a pig that can be raised on more grass then grain, 1-2 pounds of grain per day and the ingredients of that grain can be played with to get them what they need I designed mine with non gmo organic ingredients and steered away from corn and soy. the rest of their diet consists of grass/hay. Totally different pork then commercial feed hogs. The meat is red and marbled almost like beef.
And again 8 tons of feed for 8 pigs is over kill they were being over fed. Commercial pigs get fed grain related to how old they are in months of age. Up to 5 pounds of feed a day. Commercial hogs should be butchered around 7 months of age. I consistently used 750-800 pounds of feed per pig from start to finish before switching to idahos. So again false information. Also fermenting there feed is a big help to the pigs.
Wild boars eat as much grains as they can. Ask the farmers in the south how much damage they do on agricultural lands.
Turkeys will roost in trees at night but in the day time actually prefer to be in fields and they nest on the ground.
I have a regenerative farm. And run my animals on rotations thru my fields. My chickens are only locked up at night and allowed to pasture in the daytime where they’re enclosed in electric fencing and are moved based on my rotation with no animal staying in one spot for too long. Each animal plays a vital role in the soil development. Normally I agree with a lot of what I see on here but I can’t with this one.
