@4:47 - The "unique, antiquated piano" is actually a pump organ. Basically a reed organ that had air bellows that were filled by alternating foot pedals to pump the air. The round knobs above the keyboard are stop pulls, where one can turn on or off a voice within the instrument, changing the sound.

Their kitchen was always my favorite. I liked the episode with Lily in the kitchen stirring the pot while wearing the furgosi emerald. You really did a fantastic job Marina. I even felt a touch of anxiety as though I were touring a real haunted house.
Just discovered this channel. Pretty amazing. Those shows from the 60 s were so creative and original. Glad I have a lot of them on DVD. I never get sick of them.

You did it! Before Halloween too! I was a teenaged dude when this show premiered. I totally wished they were my neighbors! I'd have been over there all the time. I'll never forget Lilly applying for a job and when the dude asked for her name she told him: "Dracula" LOL the look on his face. Back in the day I rode one of those tourist trams in that neighborhood and was amazed to see the Munster house was across the street and a couple doors down from the Cleavers. After seeing that, I started to notice it on Leave it to Beavers when Beaver was in his front yard or Wally in Lumpy's car driving by it.

@@MarinaCoatesMockingbirdLane It was a great pleasure and also gave me a little chuckle to hear you talk about the great bones of the house and to show it as "normal". It had this reaction because I initially got involved with the Munster house when I was doing research on how a normal Victorian kitchen originally was laid out and how it functioned, as well as other rooms. I have always loved Victorian houses and would like to live in one. It was that desire that led to research which led to something related to the Munster house. Having been a fan when young, I explored the house by rewatching the series. This led to taking the still shots. Since I had these pictures , I thought there might be others who would have an interest, so decided to post them. I am so glad you enjoyed and could use them.

Very nice job!! Modeled the house a few times from pics and this is the most detailed view of the interior I've ever seen. The exterior is a prop that has been remodeled a lot over the years being used in different shows. Barely recognizable today..The filming was done on sound stages as most know.

I was fortunate as a kid to be able to walk through the set of the Munsters house at Universal Studios in California! The tour took you through the kitchen the hallway where the stairs were and the living room! That was back in 1967!

I found your website and channel from a comment you made on a munster's blog, and damn I am so glad I did! These are seriously impressive, and deserve way more exposure. Great job!
7:33. In a larger home like The Munster's abode, that back staircase would be used by servants, so they wouldn't be seen too much by guests. Typically during the Victorian age, a house like that, often had servants.
What you say is true. However, homes in that era and size often had 2 staircases just for the family. Two excellent examples of this would be Bing Crosby's farm house in "Holiday Inn" and the house in "Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House." In the Munster house, where would the servants stay? Its only a 4 bedroom house with an attic and no third floor (which was usually the servants bedrooms).
Nice job. My late aunt lived in a creepy 100 year old house that reminded me of the Munster's house. She did have a "modern" refrigerator but it was from the 1960's. I was saddened to learned that her house had been demolished and replaced with 8 nondescript apartment units.

I was just watching an episode of The Munster's last night, and it occurred to me that in all the years I'd watched The Munster's when I was a child, I had never developed a clear layout of their home. @4:47 - The "unique, antiquated piano" is actually a pump organ. Basically a reed organ that had air bellows that were filled by alternating foot pedals to pump the air. The round knobs above the keyboard are stop pulls, where one can turn on or off a voice within the instrument, changing the sound.

Their kitchen was always my favorite. I liked the episode with Lily in the kitchen stirring the pot while wearing the furgosi emerald. You really did a fantastic job Marina. I even felt a touch of anxiety as though I were touring a real haunted house.

I'll never forget Lilly applying for a job and when the dude asked for her name she told him: "Dracula" LOL the look on his face. Back in the day I rode one of those tourist trams in that neighborhood and was amazed to see the Munster house was across the street and a couple doors down from the Cleavers. After seeing that, I started to notice it on Leave it to Beavers when Beaver was in his front yard or Wally in Lumpy's car driving by it.

I ve heard that it's only open for public viewing one day a year. Interior viewing l mean. l could be wrong, but people have told me only on Oct.31 every year can you do the tour! Sounds crazy!

Love this! Great choice of music, and so much fun to walk through. For me, it was always a little hard trying to make sense of the Munster home because of all the dust and spiderwebs and clutter. This show is not on my list of favorites. In fact, I don’t think I’ve ever watched a full episode but my grandson is loving this!

It had this reaction because I initially got involved with the Munster house when I was doing research on how a normal Victorian kitchen originally was laid out and how it functioned, as well as other rooms. I have always loved Victorian houses and would like to live in one. It was that desire that led to research which led to something related to the Munster house. Having been a fan when young, I explored the house by rewatching the series. This led to taking the still shots. Since I had these pictures , I thought there might be others who would have an interest, so decided to post them. I am so glad you enjoyed and could use them.

Very nice job!! Modeled the house a few times from pics and this is the most detailed view of the interior I've ever seen. The exterior is a prop that has been remodeled a lot over the years being used in different shows. Barely recognizable today..The filming was done on sound stages as most know.

I was fortunate as a kid to be able to walk through the set of the Munsters house at Universal Studios in California!
The tour took you through the kitchen the hallway where the stairs were and the living room! That was back in 1967!

7:33. In a larger home like The Munster's abode, that back staircase would be used by servants, so they wouldn't be seen too much by guests. Typically during the Victorian age, a house like that, often had servants.
What you say is true. However, homes in that era and size often had 2 staircases just for the family. Two excellent examples of this would be Bing Crosby's farm house in "Holiday Inn" and the house in "Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House." In the Munster house, where would the servants stay? Its only a 4 bedroom house with an attic and no third floor (which was usually the servants bedrooms).
Nice job. My late aunt lived in a creepy 100 year old house that reminded me of the Munster's house. She did have a "modern" refrigerator but it was from the 1960's. I was saddened to learned that her house had been demolished and replaced with 8 nondescript apartment units.
Too bad. I hate when that happens.
