I was fortunate as a kid to be able to walk through the set of the Munsters house at Universal Studios in California! The tour took you through the kitchen the hallway where the stairs were and the living room! That was back in 1967!

I liked seeing this in color and cleaned up as on the real TV show, being black and white, you couldn't see all the intricate details. Like I didn't know they had gargoyles at each end of the stair case. Perhaps it was just my oversight but it was nice to see the layout cleaned up! But I can understand the fans that like its originality as well.
I wanted so bad to see it both ways. But I knew some fans of the show wouldn't want to see it that way, so I decided to just put a warning in, so they could stop the video at that point if they wanted.
Your videos are the best!!!!! Especially the full tours of the TV homes. Do you have any plans to do a full video of the Golden Girls House? To me there are so many inconsistencies with their floor plan and the exterior of the house. Possibly maybe even more that the Brady Bunch house.
I do. I've had a lot of requests for that one. And, people have brought up the same thing you have - that the exterior and interior are waaaay off. So, when I do it, I will show what the exterior would look like, if it matched what was going on inside, like I did with the Brady's. However,I have a long list, so it's all just a matter of time. I'm working on Christmas in Connecticut right now.

3:39 I don't think that's a china cupboard. It appears to be a Long-case or Grandfather clock. Beautiful job on the video. Years ago, the closest you could get to getting inside the Munster home, was at Universal Studios, which was then, only in Hollywood. They had a bit of the exterior recreated, the entry, and then you walked into Grandpa's lab. I'm 64, and I was a child when that was still there. It was removed by the time I visited Universal Studios a second time.

I'm so bummed that the dining room is missing the side door to the outside that was shown in a couple of episodes. The side door exits out near the garage. Most fan-made floor plans mistake this door for the back kitchen door.

@4:47 - The "unique, antiquated piano" is actually a pump organ. Basically a reed organ that had air bellows that were filled by alternating foot pedals to pump the air. The round knobs above the keyboard are stop pulls, where one can turn on or off a voice within the instrument, changing the sound.

Their kitchen was always my favorite. I liked the episode with Lily in the kitchen stirring the pot while wearing the furgosi emerald. You really did a fantastic job Marina. I even felt a touch of anxiety as though I were touring a real haunted house.

I'll never forget Lilly applying for a job and when the dude asked for her name she told him: "Dracula" LOL the look on his face. I was just watching an episode of The Munster's last night, and it occurred to me that in all the years I'd watched The Munster's when I was a child, I had never developed a clear layout of their home. Though I've been subscribed for a while I haven't watched all of the videos. Today, I searched and found the two-part episode here. Though I should have known with Mockingbird Lane included in your channel name. I had to stop half way through part one to let you know how delighted I am and my appreciation of your having included the Munster house in your channel. What fun!
7:33. In a larger home like The Munster's abode, that back staircase would be used by servants, so they wouldn't be seen too much by guests. Typically during the Victorian age, a house like that, often had servants.
What you say is true. However, homes in that era and size often had 2 staircases just for the family. Two excellent examples of this would be Bing Crosby's farm house in "Holiday Inn" and the house in "Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House." In the Munster house, where would the servants stay? Its only a 4 bedroom house with an attic and no third floor (which was usually the servants bedrooms).

I ve heard that it's only open for public viewing one day a year. Interior viewing l mean. l could be wrong, but people have told me only on Oct.31 every year can you do the tour! Sounds crazy!

Back in the day I rode one of those tourist trams in that neighborhood and was amazed to see the Munster house was across the street and a couple doors down from the Cleavers. After seeing that, I started to notice it on Leave it to Beavers when Beaver was in his front yard or Wally in Lumpy's car driving by it.
Just discovered this channel. Pretty amazing. Those shows from the 60 s were so creative and original. Glad I have a lot of them on DVD. I never get sick of them.

For some reason I can relate to the Munsters. Especially Eddie. If I could I would ask him only one question. It would be, "Where's Wolfie?" Even today I'd like to have one just like him. I didn't mind the color tour but it brings to mind two facts. The Munsters would hate it and all females are interior designers. Any time a female comes to my home they usually have ideas and questions about the way I have things laid out. For instance... "Wouldn't your large TV go better in that other room since you have so many monitors to look at in here already?" I smile and tell them that I'll think about it. And then of course tools in the kitchen drawers...things like that. But I did enjoy the episode.
A spooktacular tour of 1313 Mockingbird Lane, Marina! What is the name of the architectural style of the house, and are there clues to the construction era of such a house (i.e. 1890-1900 or 1900-10)? For example, the central location of the fireplace versus on an outside wall.

I like BOTH-- there is a REAL one in Texas- looks a LOT like this one.. i'd love one- modernized with modern heating/cooling- and the fireplaces being ceramic inserts that use propane instead of wood.. (no mess and ashes but look and feel real and DO heat)...but I'd LOVE one-- GREAT JOB!!! I'd love to see you do one of the GHOST AND MRS MUIR the tv version too.. since it's not a real house.. at all. (except the front)

Ok so the 2nd part without the macabre was like seeing the house when the Munsters first bought the house. Then Lily would add her touch to it later. I remember grandpa saying "my daughter does this all by herself" I love it ❤

I liked seeing this in color and cleaned up as on the real TV show, being black and white, you couldn't see all the intricate details. Like I didn't know they had gargoyles at each end of the stair case. Perhaps it was just my oversight but it was nice to see the layout cleaned up! But I can understand the fans that like its originality as well.
I wanted so bad to see it both ways. But I knew some fans of the show wouldn't want to see it that way, so I decided to just put a warning in, so they could stop the video at that point if they wanted.
Your videos are the best!!!!! Especially the full tours of the TV homes. Do you have any plans to do a full video of the Golden Girls House? To me there are so many inconsistencies with their floor plan and the exterior of the house. Possibly maybe even more that the Brady Bunch house.
I do. I've had a lot of requests for that one. And, people have brought up the same thing you have - that the exterior and interior are waaaay off. So, when I do it, I will show what the exterior would look like, if it matched what was going on inside, like I did with the Brady's. However,I have a long list, so it's all just a matter of time. I'm working on Christmas in Connecticut right now.

3:39 I don't think that's a china cupboard. It appears to be a Long-case or Grandfather clock. Beautiful job on the video. Years ago, the closest you could get to getting inside the Munster home, was at Universal Studios, which was then, only in Hollywood. They had a bit of the exterior recreated, the entry, and then you walked into Grandpa's lab. I'm 64, and I was a child when that was still there. It was removed by the time I visited Universal Studios a second time.
That would have been fun to see.

I'm so bummed that the dining room is missing the side door to the outside that was shown in a couple of episodes. The side door exits out near the garage. Most fan-made floor plans mistake this door for the back kitchen door.

@4:47 - The "unique, antiquated piano" is actually a pump organ. Basically a reed organ that had air bellows that were filled by alternating foot pedals to pump the air. The round knobs above the keyboard are stop pulls, where one can turn on or off a voice within the instrument, changing the sound.

Their kitchen was always my favorite. I liked the episode with Lily in the kitchen stirring the pot while wearing the furgosi emerald. You really did a fantastic job Marina. I even felt a touch of anxiety as though I were touring a real haunted house.

I was just watching an episode of The Munster's last night, and it occurred to me that in all the years I'd watched The Munster's when I was a child, I had never developed a clear layout of their home. Though I've been subscribed for a while I haven't watched all of the videos. Today, I searched and found the two-part episode here. Though I should have known with Mockingbird Lane included in your channel name. I had to stop half way through part one to let you know how delighted I am and my appreciation of your having included the Munster house in your channel. What fun!

7:33. In a larger home like The Munster's abode, that back staircase would be used by servants, so they wouldn't be seen too much by guests. Typically during the Victorian age, a house like that, often had servants.
What you say is true. However, homes in that era and size often had 2 staircases just for the family. Two excellent examples of this would be Bing Crosby's farm house in "Holiday Inn" and the house in "Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House." In the Munster house, where would the servants stay? Its only a 4 bedroom house with an attic and no third floor (which was usually the servants bedrooms).

Back in the day I rode one of those tourist trams in that neighborhood and was amazed to see the Munster house was across the street and a couple doors down from the Cleavers. After seeing that, I started to notice it on Leave it to Beavers when Beaver was in his front yard or Wally in Lumpy's car driving by it.

For some reason I can relate to the Munsters. Especially Eddie. If I could I would ask him only one question. It would be, "Where's Wolfie?" Even today I'd like to have one just like him. I didn't mind the color tour but it brings to mind two facts. The Munsters would hate it and all females are interior designers. Any time a female comes to my home they usually have ideas and questions about the way I have things laid out. For instance... "Wouldn't your large TV go better in that other room since you have so many monitors to look at in here already?" I smile and tell them that I'll think about it. And then of course tools in the kitchen drawers...things like that. But I did enjoy the episode.

What is the name of the architectural style of the house, and are there clues to the construction era of such a house (i.e. 1890-1900 or 1900-10)? For example, the central location of the fireplace versus on an outside wall.

I like BOTH-- there is a REAL one in Texas- looks a LOT like this one.. i'd love one- modernized with modern heating/cooling- and the fireplaces being ceramic inserts that use propane instead of wood.. (no mess and ashes but look and feel real and DO heat)...but I'd LOVE one-- GREAT JOB!!! I'd love to see you do one of the GHOST AND MRS MUIR the tv version too.. since it's not a real house.. at all. (except the front)

It's not currently on my list, but... last October the Property Brothers put out a teaser that they might be renovating the interior of the real home to match what we saw on tv like they did with the Brady Bunch house. So, wait and see. It might be coming up in real life.

Ok so the 2nd part without the macabre was like seeing the house when the Munsters first bought the house. Then Lily would add her touch to it later. I remember grandpa saying "my daughter does this all by herself"
