The rewards are worth doing all the steps even at the max level. I still can't decide if I should continue with my chars on EL and IoS or reroll again. By the way, are you planning on writing more stories? The first one was fantastic.
@@jankoval The rewards are indeed pretty nice! I already have a fair few stories backed up, most are just in draft phase where some extra refinement needs doing. Season 3 of Settlers is very much designed in my writing style, so that will serve as a more visual representation of my writing. As for an actual book, I do have some plans for releasing things in the future. I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the first book! I'm hoping to have a way to release books in the future, free or paid, that will give me a little more insight on how many people read it, and also hopefully give them an avenue to leave a comment or review of the book
Except when the journey steps don't function, specifically things like Solder "Defeat an enemy with a strength weapon" or Archery "Kill an enemy with a bow" all not registering when doing the action again and again and again.
The rewards are not half bad, I love how both the Acheronian legate from the bazaar and one for revamped journey step both dyes pretty well, with the helm from primus mix with the rest of legate set from said bazaar, making great Acheronian warrior armor in terms of looks, looking forward with this update!
i like this journey system and now i know how to work the repairing grindstone that makes it feel more natural than dragging a repair kit to the weapon or tool that needs to be repaired the reduction in durability makes sense in the reguard of how in real life a blades edge becomes sharper but the blades own durability get widdled down each time it gets sharpened
I wish I would restart the game with a new character but on console is not possible without losing all your progress and that means tragedy for me 😁 anyway this new journey mechanics are really interesting specially for some rewards which are very useful, thanks for the video very interesting as usual. 🙂
I appreciate the value of the rewards for new players, but I think many (if not most) skilled players will only work for a couple specific rewards. Most of the 'perfected' rewards are levels I skip anyway and at best I'm a mediocre player. On the positive, I can see a couple of rewards that would have great value such as the purple lotus orbs and the repair wheel. Also no matter your skill level, early early game supply materials are always helpful.
Anyone know how the Repairing Grindstone works? I mean, isn't it supposed to repair weapons? Yet, when I try to put any weapon or tool in it, it says "this item cannot be moved" when attempting to put the tool or weapon in the repairing grindstone's only slot. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
That's exactly what I tried at first 😂 You need to put oil in that slot in the grindstone, then wield your weapon (or have it on your hotbar) and interact with the grindstone
Has the dungeon diver journey been remove? Can anyone confirm I’ve complete every journey with exception of one of the purge system and still don’t have the journey dungeon diver
Cant get " Defeat enemy with strength/agility weapon" to work on both Soldier & Rogue journey steps. I used two handed and one handed weapons... confused
Did you use strength and agility based weapons? Most weapons are based on strength, like maces, greatswords etc. Agility weapons are things like bows, daggers and katanas. If the challenge means use a strength or agility weapon, then it might be bugged. If that is the case, let me know what platform you're on and I'll bug report it :)
How does the Journey system work? Do you select one Journey and that's all you can get credit for until it's finished. Can you just work on multiple journeys at once?

Most of the items, like the new weapons and armors, are crafting recipes. There are some one-time consumables, like the survival, dye and bearer packs, but a good amount of recipes too
@@Eradicati0nn Cartographer Journey - unable to open the last stage (find the volcano). Tried to fly around the location on the local server - no results. The well of skelos and locations nearby also do not open a point.
You can continue the one you have. Journies will be reset for all players, though a couple of steps will likely autocomplete, the ones that involve leaving the southern Desert. The rest can be progressed as normal
How the hell do you get them all unlocked? I've tried to do Soldier and it wont' register that I've killed an enemy with a strength based weapon. Same for some of the other journeys.
You shouldn't have to delete your character, as the system was designed to reset after the patch dropped and auto-complete some challenges. I've heard some people say they're locked out of doing some challenges though, so hopefully that should get fixed soon
how can i complete the sorcerer journey if i've already discovered the secret cave? same thing with the cartographer journey cuz i've already discovered these places :/
Do they complete if you visit that location again? Hopefully it's just that you have to hit the trigger for where the 'Discovered X' message would already show up. Let me know if that works!
@@Eradicati0nn i tried it on the game where i had already discovered the cave. So i activated the journey, killed a sorcerer and went to the already discovered cave and nothing.. didn't update the journey.. :c
They did. It was a nice physical catalogue of the story, but some stuff didn't line up with how things actually played out IMO. Hopefully they add a lore catalogue in the future for stuff like that, so people can keep track of story stuff they've done
I actually dislike the new journey system. It looks great and is more engaging and is way better for brand new players... but all of the story elements are completely gone. With this new Journey, players will have no idea that there are relics to collect, a big-bad-guy to defeat, and a way to go forth and remove your bracelet. Old Journey system kind of sucked, no doubt - but it gave me a rough guiding star from hour 1 through hour 500. This new journey just adds a lot of stuff that most players will have done in a month (or less). The old journey was the closest thing the game had to a story mode, and the only real structure given to veteran players. They removed that and replaced it with a system that is very friendly to new player, when there was plenty of room for both. They could have revamped the story system and given new and old players something, rather than just making a more in-depth tutorial with rewards attached.

This a much better version of the Journey System as it actually gives the player a reason to do them for reward instead of just helping them lvl up.

I’ve been having a blast getting through the journey. I love the new craftables and fun stuff.

Agreed! There are a couple of odd rewards like the incenses for summoning an avatar, but across the board, some pretty good stuff

Repairing grindstone can also repair legendary weapons or only up to starmetal?

You have to do them one at a time, but they don't really overlap. I have a full preview of it already uploaded :)

It has to be a specific type of strength weapon...the only one that worked for me was the steel mace.
@@draeajohnson9919 Copy. I finally figured it out. It was mods interfering with the journey. Playing solo with no mods solved the problem
