Quick explanation why (i think) French version sound so much (more) epic : English : "GO! Recover Eren from the armor Titan and retreat ! Your heart and soul to the cause !" Whereas French goes more like : "So we are going to give it all to recover him and we will come back ! LETS GO! Lets sacrifice us all heart and soul!" French version sounds more like how a real general would put it to motivate its troop. Not that much about giving facts or order, but believing in the project yourself and saying it as if you were talking about it from the future and everything already went as planned. Note that we have an equivalent for 'retreat' in French ("battre en retraite") but he said "On va rentrer" which is more like a "We're gonna come back" way to say it. As if you didn't want it to sound like 'And then we run away' and more like 'And then we fckin come back alive with what we wanted, like the fckin warriors we are' Don't know if that really make sens but yeah..

In my opinion, there is no number 3. English uses too many words and not they don’t sound naturally. I don’t like the fact that Connie had to include the “wait.” Why not just say, “Mikasa.” I don’t like it when languages add words because it really makes the flow and immersion off. Erwin sounded good.. but he needed to sound more desperate, not loud. The screams were just awful. They were not gut wrenching, they were just lazy screams. The scream has to sound chaotic. The Russian sounds too proud. Spanish also suffers with the rhythim, same with English. Italian was meh.. could do better. I hated how he sounded nationalistic. Too nationalistic, same as Russian. I don’t know what type of voice actor they are getting but I heard better Russian coming from BF1. *will check again twice to analyze how the voices sound for better feedback. Edit: If you listen to the screams as they charge, some of the languages reuse the Japanese scream. It’s lazy in my opinion. What these languages need is to adapt, not add. The French and Japanese voices were perfect. Desperate, not nationalistic. The Dread and Determination you can hear from their voices. They also perfect the gut wrenching screams. The French had their own and it was perfect, better than the English, and way more realistic. Japanese was godlike. Maybe it’s because of the way their language is more of a raw, simpler and natural way of sounds as opposed to the complex sounds of other language. It’s more grounded and a lot of the yelling comes from the guts. The French were amazing in their own fashion. The leadership, their history of war, their language is clear and more elegant than English. English was too messy, too sloppy. They wanted every sentence to sound perfect. As if they were writing to an English professor. Why did Connie say- “Mikasa, wait?” Whereas French and Japanese simply said “Mikasa.” This is why I sometimes dislike dubs. They want to add unnecessary words. You could even rewrite Erwin’s speech to sound better. It’s too focused on script sounds than the way their voices acts. Erwin’s voice was good.. but “your heart and soul to the cause?” that’s unnatural to the average english speaker and too many words. “Sacrifice your HEARTS!!!” Would be more badass. Like that.. Less emphasis on perfection and more on the execution. The execution of the sound is what reflects it. The French language naturally speaks fast and can add as many words without it sounding like the ramification of English. That’s why it works. They also don’t sound dry, it’s both loud and determined, you can feel it in his voice. There is no top 3. The rest of tbe languages were too lazy or unnaturally sounding towards the context. Damn it, can you all please make it sound like Erwin is leading them to hell? Not make a presidential speech please?

Quick explanation why (i think) French version sound so much (more) epic :
English : "GO! Recover Eren from the armor Titan and retreat ! Your heart and soul to the cause !"
Whereas French goes more like : "So we are going to give it all to recover him and we will come back ! LETS GO! Lets sacrifice us all heart and soul!"
French version sounds more like how a real general would put it to motivate its troop. Not that much about giving facts or order, but believing in the project yourself and saying it as if you were talking about it from the future and everything already went as planned. Note that we have an equivalent for 'retreat' in French ("battre en retraite") but he said "On va rentrer" which is more like a "We're gonna come back" way to say it. As if you didn't want it to sound like 'And then we run away' and more like 'And then we fckin come back alive with what we wanted, like the fckin warriors we are'
Don't know if that really make sens but yeah..

In my opinion, there is no number 3.
English uses too many words and not they don’t sound naturally. I don’t like the fact that Connie had to include the “wait.” Why not just say, “Mikasa.” I don’t like it when languages add words because it really makes the flow and immersion off. Erwin sounded good.. but he needed to sound more desperate, not loud. The screams were just awful. They were not gut wrenching, they were just lazy screams. The scream has to sound chaotic.
The Russian sounds too proud. Spanish also suffers with the rhythim, same with English.
Italian was meh.. could do better. I hated how he sounded nationalistic. Too nationalistic, same as Russian. I don’t know what type of voice actor they are getting but I heard better Russian coming from BF1.
*will check again twice to analyze how the voices sound for better feedback.

If you listen to the screams as they charge, some of the languages reuse the Japanese scream. It’s lazy in my opinion.
What these languages need is to adapt, not add.
The French and Japanese voices were perfect. Desperate, not nationalistic. The Dread and Determination you can hear from their voices. They also perfect the gut wrenching screams. The French had their own and it was perfect, better than the English, and way more realistic.
Japanese was godlike. Maybe it’s because of the way their language is more of a raw, simpler and natural way of sounds as opposed to the complex sounds of other language. It’s more grounded and a lot of the yelling comes from the guts.
The French were amazing in their own fashion. The leadership, their history of war, their language is clear and more elegant than English.
English was too messy, too sloppy. They wanted every sentence to sound perfect. As if they were writing to an English professor. Why did Connie say- “Mikasa, wait?” Whereas French and Japanese simply said “Mikasa.” This is why I sometimes dislike dubs. They want to add unnecessary words. You could even rewrite Erwin’s speech to sound better. It’s too focused on script sounds than the way their voices acts. Erwin’s voice was good.. but “your heart and soul to the cause?” that’s unnatural to the average english speaker and too many words. “Sacrifice your HEARTS!!!” Would be more badass. Like that.. Less emphasis on perfection and more on the execution. The execution of the sound is what reflects it.
The French language naturally speaks fast and can add as many words without it sounding like the ramification of English. That’s why it works. They also don’t sound dry, it’s both loud and determined, you can feel it in his voice.
There is no top 3. The rest of tbe languages were too lazy or unnaturally sounding towards the context.
Damn it, can you all please make it sound like Erwin is leading them to hell? Not make a presidential speech please?
