I hope it's still worth it in 2024 since I bought for $700, didn't want to spend $500 more for the gt56 uhd2 version.
How can I move the depth temp etc from the upper left corner on Panoptix screen to lower right or left? Nice channel. Thanks for the work.
Just learned this during this last week. One of the features that the newer ones have that the UHD doesn’t have is the ability to wirelessly network two UHD’s together. You have to wire them.
Yes this is true. I prefer a wired connection though. I feel it is more reliable, although I haven’t tried the wireless one.
Great video! So I am looking at my first echo map model and looking at getting the Garmin Echo map UHD74 chart plotter /fish finder combo with GT54UHD Transducer. I am wondering will this last me for awhile as I fish alot of the same areas and its all 30ft or less depth in waters , mainly large lake and all freshwater fishing.
Yes it will do well. Depending on your budget and size limitations, you may want to look at a 93 SV. Keep in mind the 74 will have coastal charts and not lake charts. So if you fish mainly freshwater, go with a 73 or 93.
WHat is the difference in the UHD & UHD2? Also what is the difference between livescope panoptix & regular livescope?
I want to buy a Garmin & add the livescope, but not sure the differences. Thanks, I hope you know!
UHD2 is the newer technology and has higher resolution and wireless networking compared to UHD. It also costs a few hundred more. Like $1100 vs $650 in the 93 models. Panoptix is the first version of forward facing sonar and isn’t really used anymore, even though people use the terms interchangeably. If you want Livescope, then go with either the LVS-32 or 34. The 34 is better but also costs more, but either will work. The 34 comes with a perspective mount, which is good to have for shallow water. Hope that helps.
@@InstinctBassin Thank you very much!
How out of date is the Garmin 72 sv, which I have?
It would be similar to the 93SV I discuss in this video, just smaller and with different maps.
I just bought that 92sv with the lvs 32 good enough for me 😊
Is it comoatible with livescope?
Yes
My touchscreen is dead
Garmin has great customer service. If the unit isn't too old, try contacting them about the issue.
