I made this today for the first time and it sure won’t be the last. This stew is absolutely delicious and packed with flavour. Thank you Albert for sharing such a tasty recipe!
Your recipes knock me out! I am trying to go more vegetarian, but Tofu just was not cutting it. Your recipes are the best tasting vegetarian fare I have eaten in my life.@@SpainonaFork
His pots have become so nice over the years ... Heck, I think he has moved into a new apartment entirely! Lovin' Spain on a Fork! Recommend all the time.
We made this stew today and it was delicious folks. Easy to prepare and we will be making this one again. Thanks from Texas! Next day edit. It’s all gone. I ate what was left for breakfast this morning. I couldn’t stay out of it. So delicious.
Have made this and have to say it is a cheap, filling and extremely tasty meal. I used slices of Sourdough bread which worked superbly. The only down side was that I think I over did the salt slightly. The bread thickens nicely and helps make it very robust. Have some in the freezer and will be making it again.
It's also such a great way to use the heels, ends and leftover slices of bread. I keep little bits of bread from the ends of loaves in a plastic bag in my freezer, just for recipes like this.
The ground bread as a thickener is a very old traditional method of thickening soups/stews; one finds it in modern redactions of medieval cookbooks. As prepared, this would make an excellent vegan meal for Lent. Could this also be prepared in a pressure cooker or slow cooker?
I bet you could adapt many of Albert's recipes for slow-cooker, especially if you use dried beans that you soak overnight instead of canned beans. Great idea!
This soup is absolutely delicious! I used cannellini beans because that’s what I had, and it was a hit at my house. Thank you for sharing your wonderful recipes with us. ❤
I made this yesterday. It was so good! Using the toasted bread with the garlic and herbs as a thickening agent was new to me. But I'll be using that more from now on! It gives the dish such a boost and depth of flavour! Thanks for sharing this with us!! :D
Made this today.. definite winner! The fried garlic, baguette, and parsley mash add on was a flavor bomb! Great job Albert! Much love from your old stomping grounds, south OC.
Hello Thank you again for a delicious Stew. It was so flavorful. The fried baquette and garlic is magic. You make delicious recipes. I look forward of more of what you prepare.
Albert: Delicious *_and_* easy. I have everything except the butter beans, so it's on my list for today. I can't wait to make this one. Thanks again. (Fan from San Francisco, California.) *!!~
I can’t wait to cook this . Can you also add celery and maybe kidney beans ? I always look forward to your videos especially vegan/vegetarian recipes, thank you 🙏
Seems to me that celery could be a nice addition, but kidney beans would change the flavor profile of the dish. Why not invent your own new version of the recipe? I bet it would be great!
@@SpainonaFork Thanks! I'll try it next time. I chose your gypsy stew instead yesterday and it was delicious. Your recipes are, in general, very good; your channel is a constant inspiration for me! Gracias y, por favor, continúen con el buen trabajo. :)
I agree wholeheartedly that Spanish paprika (I order from Kiva, both hot and sweet - 2 of each, and lasts me about a year even though I use them a lot) is excellent. And not expensive, even with shipping.
I love this vegetable combination but for me it needs celery. And chorizo. Sometimes. I'm not ALWAYS vegetarian, but I prefer less meat these days. Sliced chorizo and plenty of chopped cilantro.
Just want task... all of your recipes draw me in, bit do you ever make something you don't like? How about a blooper once in a while? Your videos are too perfect. There has to be things that go wrong. It is what makes us human.
I don't know about you, but if I were making a series of recipe videos and tried one that was just awful, I'd just, you know, not post it. I can see how a really funny, over-the-top bizarre blooper could be fun, but generally speaking, why would anyone post something online on purpose to show how they messed up?
Have you written a cookery book that curates all your recipes from this channel? If not, you should!
That are nearly 1000 recipes....
I would without hesitation buy it!
They’re all on the channel.
I hope he writes cookbooks
Why a book ? Is easier to watch a video.

Yes you can! Much love :)
I'm making it with Spanish chorizo.
Are butter beans really the same as judiones? Or are they those huge beans the Valencians put in paella? Judiones seem different to me.
👍 - Thanks again! :)

Won't the acidity from the vinegar prevent the potatoes from getting soft? Otherwise, it looks really good, I think I just found out today's dinner.

Does Spanish paprika have a different flavor than other paprika?
Deeper depth of flavor and a smoky touch :) Much love

Are they the same as Lima beans?
no. They are the same species, but a different cultivar. It is common among vegetables for cultivars of the same species to be considerably different.
Lecker!

heartbreaking bread again.....no gluten substitute please
Just use something else. Instant mashed potatoes, for example.
