I love how in this version we go to the history of the land and the wendigo
I just wish it wasn't the Antler'd Hollywood version of the Wendigo. The real creature in Native folklore looks like a deathly pale, horribly emaciated humanoid figure with torn lips and gums, and a mouth always covered in blood. The only difference in appearance is that some tribes depict or believe it to be immense, 2-3x larger than a normal human.
None of them describe it as having antlers or a deer skull for a head/face. 🤷♂️
@@volkerball85 maybe they thought the real native folklore wouldn't work for this film but I'm glad nonetheless that they added it in.
I believe the "anamorphs in-between" depiction is probably a mixture of skinwaker and wendigo.
Barely anything. 30 seconds of crap. "The ground is bad." Wow. Way to make it seem scary there, Lithgow.
I'm amused that in this movie the Wendigo is a spirit that preys on the grief of others wanting a loved one back, who then uses the dead body to create more of itself.
The Wendigo has them all firmly in the clutches of its jaws.

The cat was the reason Ellie was in the road where she died. He should have killed it and saved himself further misery.

That's how you can tell. They really made the cat look dead. A dead cat's fur is all messy and matted like that. A live cat would never be in that condition unless something was seriously wrong.
It's a zombie cat and it does not care any more. And it probably will not let you wash it either, unless you relish bathing a chainsaw wrapped in fur.

Church's death in the 1989 movie is so sad, I love that Louis let the cat live in this version.
I think it makes it worse since he just lets his cat be a vessel for that demon.

The wendigo itself is actually a spirit, it's the people it infects that can't resist cannibalism. Look into the tribal lore of it.

The Wendigo might be The God of The Lost but the Micmac Indians called it the Wendigo.
Depends on which legend, it varies based on the tribe from a physical monster to a spirit to possesses people in a moment of weakness

I was so dissapointed that they didn't show the Wendigo, and that the drawing in the book looks nothing like how Kind described it on the book.
