Great vintage board. Modern models fit in as could be seen when given an appropriate paint job.
Yeah thanks and that is a flocked board using the same flock as GW sold in baggies in the 90’s from Javis scenics. I would prefer a cloth flocked mat that Citadel released in 6th or 7th edition. Way less messy than I what I did lol
I think that what also helps is that GSC (alongside 'nids and Skaven) have a design language that hasn't really changed since their introduction. As such they all fit quite well together. They're the three ranges whose models I personally like from the '80s to today.
I've forgot how powerful Space Marines are in this edition esp Terminators
Yeah they are beasts! I did however call them the dreadnought squad by mistake. Not wrong though lol

I just love everything in this video but those genestealers have got to get onto combat quicker! Don't think i have ever seen them fallback before! This is the definitive 40k for me. The paint style amd sculpts of this era just brings up so many memories. Brilliant.

Amazing new format.Also, that shot @1:20 is the most authentic 2nd Ed display of an army I've seen since that one White Dwarf where Captain Tycho got his face melted by the Ork Weird Boy. 11/10.

Yeah mate the Mole Mortar is a really weird weapon. Never seen one used until that game. Fun though to see it in action

This was great! I’d love to see a bit more of the board to get a wider view of the tactics. Also love to get to know a bit about the players, and see a bit of ‘drama’. Love the narrative, that GSC needs to be in a display cabinet what a treat!! Well done

Great vid, much prefer this format due to the close ups of the models which is the main thing for me! and easier to follow for me with the rules seeing as I don't really play the games with my models.

My favourite style of battle report. Well made, good editing. Just recommend less haze and keep the dice rolls/card reveals in 1 consistent space to reduce camera movements.

Being a Patreon, I cant be disappointed with what you offer here; so many good points.
However, not a big fan of the narrative style... Or said another way, bigger fan of classic style with chit chats, laughs, surprises and such. It lacks a bit of the gaming atmosphere though its a lot more immersive. 👍🏼

Hi Turret and thank for your patronage and honest feedback mate. I appreciate that you enjoyed the older format and I do too as well as others. But as I creator I have always wanted to do more narrative style battles but didn’t know how to approach it that way. With Ed’s inspiration it gave me a style that I could accomplish something similar. I will though however post up the older style batreps on Patreon from time to time mate or do live stream games. They are always there but I prefer live streams due to editing hours etc. thanks again mate and happy to see you here :)

About the terrain, what did you use for the base of your bunkers?
Great question. It’s the same foam core I used for my cactus tutorial on the channel. So please check that out. I used 7mm think hard foam core them

Those bunkers are ace! How did you do them please?
Thank you. They were painted using an air brush and paint brush. Colors are just using dark to lighter shades of blue grey.

Why did the genestealers fall back?
You will have to consult with the Fated Farher for that decision as I have no idea tbh lol. It surprised me also but I guess Paul wanted to reserve points and allow me to claim the win if I had caused more than 50% casualties on his broods as they assaulted the marine positions given that the Terminators were in overwatch
