I saw Todd in the late 90's while he was on tour for "All Right Guy". He got to the last song and said that his Father had just died and they had been on tour and most of the rooms were half empty. We were in a small concert bar and you couldn't move in the place. He looked up at the ceiling and said "Thanks Dad". He played 3 hours straight and ripped the roof off the place. Got 4 encores, got in his bus and left. Been a fan ever since.

Weeping with such joy and sadness. What an amazing story from Todd Snider. Thank you for sharing. So much irreplaceable loss with the passing of Jerry Jeff Walker. Austin in the Seventies was an endless stream of beautiful music wafting from one end of town to the other. Sigh.
Now Charlie Pride. Damn. Well, the only upside to all the loss is that the tradition of singer songwriters continues on through the music of Todd Snider, John Moreland, Tyler Childers, Colter Wall, Hayes Carll, Morgan Wade, Cody Jinks, Arlo McKinley, Benjamin Tod, Sierra Ferrell, Cary Ann Hearst, Casper Allen, Jason Isbell and Amanda Shires, Steve Earle, Jon Dee Graham, and a shit load more that I just can't think of right now. Those just happen to be some of my favs. If you haven't heard of some of those names, go search them out. You will probably not be disappointed. I hear people all the time say that no one is making good music any longer...mostly people in their late 40's are older though. Anyway, it's the farthest thing from the truth. There's more music in general being made than ever before in human history. A lot of its great and super accessible. Okay, diatribe over!

One of the things that is so wonderful about this performance - so f'ing amazing in a time where performers are so much about themselves - is the deference that Todd and Amanda give Jerry Jeff. Watch as they stay very much to the side. Look at how they follow him with their eyes and play in support. This is his moment and they do everything they can to ensure that it stays that way.

My little dog is maybe 13, some day she'll be gone, and if I'm still alive in 20 years I'll still grieve.
Heaven's going to be like this
Could you Imagine being there at that moment? That's just one of those things in life, you just smile and walk on...Saying WOW, and thanks for the rest of your life...
Oh my God, that was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen... hope he was watching me watch him. Miss you, jjw
Thank ýou Jerry Jeff Walker, for writing one of those greatcoats that brings me to tears 50 years after hearing it for the first time. Firstly by Jerry Jeff, then the Nitty Ģritty Dirty Band's UNCLE CHARLIE AND HIS DOG TEDDY
Absolutely great video with one of my all-time favorite musicians and singers, Jerry Jeff Walker.
scorpioman92 absolutely, my favorite
at 5:20 when Todd looks up and says, "Thank you", I lose it.
thanks for pointing that out. perfect
Wow! I can't stop crying. Thank you for uploading this. What a great story and a wonderful moment.
I've seen Todd several times, and he has always been amazing. But this was just perfect. Take it easy man.
SargentAnus when grabs the harmonica...
Oh my... at 7:10-ish Amanda Shires just takes on on her fiddle and JerrJeff pays her tribute. What a great song.
An awesome moment. She laid back until he motioned for her to take off. Incredible.
Thank you SO much for posting this! I wish I could have been there. I've been a Jerry Jeff fan for over 30 years and a Todd Snider fan for the past ten or so. This is incredible. I loved the smile on Todd's face and Jerry sounded great. This should have a million views!!
this is one of the best videos i've watched in a long time... tearing up a little bit honestly.
Made me cry
Wow. This is one of the best videos I've ever watched. Love the story leading into the song. And Mr. Walker still sounds AMAZING!!!!! Thanks for posting!
I just read of his passing a few days ago
I'm devastated 😥 but thank God for this video ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you Jerry Jeff
the smile on Todd's face is so honest... the joy he was feeling to play that with Jerry Jeff warms my heart.
Snider, Shires, and Isbell are enough of a talent - to add JJW that's just too much. What an amazing concert that must have been - but great video!
Awesome and a half. I have loved JJW and Bojangles since I was fifteen, that was in mid sixties. He befriends Oregon grown Todd Snider and I think he's great too.
You can see the admiration in Todd's eyes as he shares the stage with HIS hero. He's a lot of people's hero
I wish those f-ing "screamers" would leave that stuff in the alley - they RUIN everything for us MUSIC LOVERS
Such a great 'YUMMY" to see "the man" himself! Even a little HARP! Thanks so much JerryJeff !
