I saw JJW play at a little ranch just outside Houston in the late 90s. It was a private concert, just him and a 3 piece band and about 50 people in the audience. I was three feet away from him throughout the show, and it was one of the highlights of my life. Thank you to the person who took this video and to the person who posted it, it is an absolute gem
Ive had and lost it all 3 times over. The dog dying line gets me everytime. Only thing that gets a tear going nowadays. What a beautiful moment in time this was. Miss you girl.
This is one of the few times I am thankful a cell phone was at a concert recording. The song is such a happy tune about such a sad life. I love playing it.
This was great! I had the pleasure of seeing Jerry Jeff in a concert in the early 70's, and I loved him ever since. Thank you Todd, it was so good to see and hear him again, and your not bad neither. :)
You are by far one of my most favorite musicians in the world especially now that you are wearing many hats and mosicans meaning you are carrying that outlawish, story telling kinda twangy bad ass love ya man keep on being you
Tood is rare Gem of a human being!! Everytime I hear/see this video it really hits you, the surprise of his friend Jerry Jeff, Amanda Shires and her Husband the Amazing Jason Isbell all on stage to be part of a profound moment of musical history...I've been watching and playing this video for my friends and family since it came out(every Christmae Eve since, with my Family and a Drink while it plays)...Cheers and Thanks everyone on stage, especially Jerry Jeff Walker...
I saw Todd at Woolys in Des Moines, IA and loved his show. I started checking out his UTube videos and came across this gem. Anytime I feel blue, I watch this and always feel better.
Considering that Jerry co-wrote the theme song for ACL, it adds yet another level to the amazing convergence of talent that night. I most likely would have been in tears if I had been there.
I remember doing this song in 8th grade boys choir in 1972. Mr Jones was the coolest choir teacher ever. I've always loved Jerry Jeff.
That was great!!!!

I told you to wait in the truck. Roy Clark used this line just the same one.
Never met Jerry Jeff Walker but I understand he was one of the good guys
You can't get any better than this
This song some of us can relate to thank you Jerry Jeff Walker such a prolific song
"I told you to wait in the truck!" Is the best response to a heckler I've ever heard.
Arent we lucky to have had him

One of my many favorite parts... Jerry finds the harmonica and kills it.

Damn Todd has aged. He looks so young here but present day he looks 70. Is this really from 2012?

I've heard of a mic drop, but he did a guitar drop at the end! And rightly so!!

Very impressive and cool moment when Jerry Jeff comes out to sing… R.I.P… and thank you for all the music…💐🎶💐 🌜🌞🌛
One of the greatest moments in TX music ever recorded. No question.
It looks like everyone onstage are digging the shit out of this moment. Me too! Thanks for this!
pretty special
That was fun 😊
Great video, except the loudmouth woman that wants to be the center of attention.
