I'm a janitor at a pretty good school district.. excellent salary 403b( similar to a 401k) pension payed vacation. Not to mention i had to get fbi fingerprinted and 2 interviews for this job. It doesn't take a genius to become a janitor but the places they tend to work don't just hire anyone meaning you have to interview well and be very employable. Schools hospitals etc. If your a janitor you probably have a great work ethic

I'm in university, I've worked at laboratories (though not as a scientist, more like lab maintainence), the janitors were always my favourite people at those places, or really any workplace I've belonged to. Often the most real and down to earth people, with heads that are the farthest away from their asses.
Yeah janitors in my experience have tended to be really down to earth or “chill” people. At the schools Ive gone to everyone always loved the janitors and they were actually considered really cool.
The funny thing is I can think of several companies around where I live where the janitors are making 60-80k a year which is 20-40k more than I’m making at my current job so its not as black and white as “educated” people make it out to be.

It made the whole conversation ackward and he was pressing me to say whay i was gonna say. Nearly got into a fight over it anyways.. i should have just said it in hind sight. It was a pretty funny story at least. Felt like a dick afterwards tho, shoudlt drink too much. Lesson lernt
