    OKAY I hope I'm not the only one who was thinking the front of your work was the cloth facing you at the beginning of punching,. Like, the side with the loops isn't the back of your work, IT'S THE FREAKING FRONT. God I might be just dumb but I really didn't understand this up until now. Thank you for your video! MUCH much help

    How do you keep the loops from unraveling should something get snagged onto a loop?

    • @gnarbeljo8980
      @gnarbeljo8980 2 года назад +1

      Wonderingnthe same thing. I think it's a less functional technique and more decorative. I'd be a bit worried about making a small rug or seating cushion or bag that must all hold up to wear and tear. Hooking or crochet needle locking it into place would be alot more durable for functional work. If using expensive wool yarns, it makes more sense unless hung on the wall.

    Hello! Thanks for the fabulous videos. One question: I have a complete set of Oxford needles. Would I also need the adjustable needle you use? Thanks kindly!

    • @studioversie
      @studioversie  Месяц назад

      Hi Wendy, that depends on what you mean by complete set. Do you also have different number needles, like the 10, 9 and 8? In that case you can already make different height loops and the adjustable needle wouldn’t add anything.

    • @wendysodnik7887
      @wendysodnik7887 Месяц назад

      Yes, all different numbers. And, I just noticed you included two adjustable needles in a kit that I bought a long time ago, but just haven't worked on it yet. So, thank you for the information and for including everything I'll need to get started! Your videos are so very good! Oh, and one more question...do you have a link to the snap on frames? I seem to have noticed them once, but now cannot find them. Thanks so much.

    Hi! So I’m a begginer and I was looking on the internet for the tools that I need and I found this adjustable punch needle and also the oxford expensive ones and I was wondering which are the differences because I don’t understand why to spend a lot of money on several needles when you can buy this adjustable one. This answered a lot of questions for me, thank you! I ordered a needle and fabric today but confused about what wool to buy - I will wait and see if my needle comes with any suggestions :) I just have one more question, is the 'back' of the hoop (with the loops) actually the front of the piece?

    • @AnaGonzalez-ii7ur
      @AnaGonzalez-ii7ur 4 года назад

      Hi! I’d say you can choose what side you want to show as “front”, so if you want big loops in the front, you’ll have to punch from the back side.

    • @studioversie
      @studioversie  4 года назад +2

      You're welcome Harriet. Ana is absolutely right. You can choose! It's also nice to use both on one piece, so punch from the back and the front. This way you create some fun textures.

      It depends on what you do with the punched fabric. If it´s just for display it´s really not necessary. If you use it as a pillow for example, some people prefer to secure it.
      Normally I do ship to Indonesia, but with all the restrictions it´s not possible right now, I´m sorry!

      You could finish the back with glue (I've never done that, so don't ask me how) or you could iron on a special fabric that sticks to the yarn when heated with the iron. I've done that for pillows and that works. But it should always be a handwash and not too warm.

      I think the problem is the fabric you're using. Cross stitch fabric is too rigid and won't hold the loops. For beginners I really recommend using monk's cloth count 10 to 14. Good luck!

    • @studioversie

    • @PerfumeCognac

      Studio VerSie so after MUCH frustration I figured out the problem. I had bought a kit and the kit used an extremely cheap fabric, it was almost a satiny polyester blend.
