You should try all different ways of drawing because everybody's brain works a little differently and you might be able to use something else to better effect. That's one of the things I like about your videos, you're putting a lot of techniques out there without declaring one as the best and only way to draw

This is such a great quote that I think really captures the message of Ethan's channel. He gives us lots of different tools and techniques because people learn differently. Something like this will be super helpful for a lot of artists, and won't work for a lot of others. ORIGINAL CHARACTER. FANART. FIXING ART. REDRAW. Long ago, the four nations lived together in harmony. Then everything changed when Zeefixesart attacked. Only the art teacher, master of all four elements could stop them. But when the world needed him most, he came back.
As a fellow artist, I had to rethink my approach to simplify years of academic techniques. Some of those traditional techniques just don’t work when I have to do storyboards and need to draw with speed but maintain accuracy. Great video!

Hardcore Waffles fan who loved this video! You showed how she has learned and put effort into understanding the underlying shapes and structures, and then learned to simplify those into her own interpretation. But the structure is still there! This method is so helpful, thank you for sharing ☺ It's close to something I already do for the eyes and brow bone, but I love they circle to the bottom of the nose. That ends up helping me later when placing the details. Waffles has made me like studies, which has made me draw more! Both of you make such inspiring content, I wonder how other artists can put so much out there and still make art.

I learned pretty much every one of your tricks from your videos, while I'm still far from mastering any of them, it has made my progress immensly easier. And this video just blew me away. Dkancjaj i stopped seriously drawing like a year ago because I was in such a slump because I couldn't really understand how the draw gestures with the face, it was always uneven or some shit. But dude, I'm so inspired to draw now with this technique, it makes so much sense. Why don't we invent more techniques for drawing instead of staying in the past??
My mind is blown. I keep finding new ways the features of the face align but I never noticed this one and now I can't unsee it! Making the eyes and lips the same shape really gives the face that nice subconscious harmony that you won't even notice it if you don't know about it. The whole face outline also kinda follows the same shape, and if you use it for the nose, the bottom curve is where the top curve of the mouth starts. No more guessing how far to put the mouth! This is my new favorite thing after the favorite-sided triangle.
I absolutely love this about his content. All the stuff that I learned in art classes with all the precise measurements and the unnecessary use of rulers everywhere and having to do math for even something as simple as drawing a face didn’t help me whatsoever. But this is just right to the point, only takes a few seconds, and is super easy to understand.
There’s no way Rin likes pancakes more than waffles. I simply will NOT take that as fact.
I just started doing this today after watching this video the other night and honestly, I'm so much happier with how I draw faces now. Thank man, you saved me from being shit at drawing faces.
