Saw her two days ago and I can't get her singing this song out of my head. The greatest performance of the whole evening imo even though the others were incredible too of course. But this one was just absolutely enchanting. I had tears in my eyes. And I never cry in the theater! What a talent! And what a beautiful timbre her voice has.
Here's hoping she'll be Fantine in the 40th anniversary, 2025. She has the hair for it and the emotion. I loved her as Cosette in the 25th anniversary show. Maybe she will have moved on to other things and maybe another great talent will have come onto the scene for Fantine but I can't see Samantha Barks doing it (like Lea did, moving from Eponine to Fantine). Since Cosette is Fantine's daughter it would be a great throwback show to have Katie playing Fantine in a show we can see and buy on DVD! Just hoping and musing. Thanks for the upload.
John Owen Jones as Valjean and Katie as Fantine is the perfect cast but the scumbag cameron mackintosh won't do that, he has no respect for John, never gave the man the spotlight he absolutely deserves. If it was up to me John and Katie would play phantom and christine together again, they are the best pairing ever! They should have been the poto 25th anniversary cast. mackintosh and ALW are two mercenaries.
do you know if the 40th anniversary 2025 will be the world tour alone? or if the world tour is a part of the celebration and there will be a performance in london just for the anniversary as well?
I legitimately had no idea Katie could belt like this. I am so used to hearing her sing soprano on Phantom of the Opera. Easily the best performance of this song I have ever heard!
