it's the greatest gift to humankind that Lea Salonga was portrayed both Eponine and Fontine ❤
❤❤❤❤
I dont think there has ever been a show that Lea hasn't stolen.
She can sing for sure but the Hathaway took the emotion higher---both are talented
@@marvicolaivar6627 comparing hathaway to Lea? thats like comparing a Kia to a Ferrari, i mean - both drive in a straight line.
@@macstorm3432on point 😂
In addition to being a natural beauty, she has one of the most beautiful voices I have ever heard. Her voice is so warm and draws the listener into her “story.” ❤
Yet Susan Boyle's version gives goosebumps every time. This lady is definitely a technically better singer than Susan, but man that woman gives whole new life to this song.
Lea: ok, You can put the mic stand in front of me but I won’t need it 😂
I know what you mean but in theory the mic could be there just for us (the recording). But it's clear that she needs to be amplified for the audience as she wouldn't be heard over the orchestra without it. There's a reason opera singers sing the way they do: they are not amplified.
@@hiriaith yes I know. this was meant to be somewhat of a joke, because she’s a bit far from the mic. But you’re completely correct.
Edit: (side note) plus what I meant was that when I sing I don’t project as well as Lea does. Especially when I sing high. Lea has much more skill, and she’s a Lyric soprano. (I’m an Alto)
😂😂😂 It’s 03:30 and I just woke up my wife, because I laughed so hard.
Lea Salonga is a legend!!! For me she is still the best Eponine and Fontine. Classically trained to be the best broadway singer and actress. Indeed a Filipino treasure and talent!
The way she smoothly transitions from optimistic Disney princess to broken and bitter is as amazing as it is heart breaking. Not every singer can capture the full spectrum of Fantine. It's often all power and barely repressed rage, or just something operatic but missing the emotion. Lea just captures the full dimension.
not bitter
I really like Patti's, its more like she is narrating her life, and bitter. I think its a toss up, they are very different, both impeccable.
she always brings her own SUBTITLE when she sings. so clear and well enunciated.
Love that she played eponine in the 10th anniversary and fantine in the 25th anniversary
No song unsung, no wine untasted. What a magical line.
Okay it was just me or she really sing the ending part without breathing for 17-18 seconds..?
Her voice did not deteriorate shes aging but her voice is more beautiful
Does she ever not sing with perfection? Her performance always steals the show. She simply is the best. ❤
She can't. She just can't.
Without a dought
the emotion that she shows when she sings just shreds the heartstrings of all who hear it
the epidemy of emotion was anne hathaway's in the movie. no one else comes close.
The only performance that brings me to tears…every time! Powerful!
She really makes you feel Fantine's ruin.
This is exactly is why I came to this video. I literally started crying in the middle of the song. That has NEVER happened before. 😢
The only singer that I don't need subs 😭
Her voice tells the story so beautifully but also her face. That’s no easy job. That’s why she’s the best for me ❤
No other version or singer matches this, not even close. This is how it should sound.
I've watched many sing this. She is a Goddess. She is the best Fantine to ever grace the stage. No one comes close to Lea. Stunning vocals❤
Pride of the Philippines 🇵🇭
❤❤❤ The Wonder of Lea is she just does not sing the songs, she actually lives the part. Outstanding.
Problem with a dream cast is Lea is the best Fontine AND the best Eponine.
Great lyrics from a wonderful musical still need interpretation & delivery ... Lea has it all ... what a singer ... what a beautiful voice ❤
I am crying just watching it……..for probably the 50th time.
Gotta pump those numbers up
I have no words to describe Lea. Casting her as Fantine was the perfect decision ❤
And Eponine! It’s a rare thing to be the best in TWO different roles in the same show. She’s a legend.
@@reason6835 truly!!!
I compare to this of her performance of Eponine only 15 years prior, and it's always astounding how amazing both performances are. But it's really cool to see her as Fantine, an older part with a more mature voice. She kills both roles, and she's insanely talented, but I think the best part is about the growth of her voice.
She is absolutely amazing in her delivery. My new favorite version of this piece.
the best version of this wonderfull song ever, it is beyond understanding how good it is.
Incomparable. Goosebumps and tears and I’ve seen this 100 times! Her talent is unmatched ❤
The best rendition of this song! Hands down.. 🔥
Everyone has their own 'best version' of songs.
I saw what she saw and
I felt it! Total package!
“PROTECT HER AT ALL COST PEOPLE!”
incredible talent, and not just her but all who were involved to create this, including the geniuses who wrote the lyrics and the music.
She enunciates so beautifully and perfectly you don't even notice it. For the first time I grasp ALL the lyrics.
Magic!
Thank you!
😢
oh i notice lol
No one sang this better ❤
Susan Boyle
@@sheridanfam2020I hope you are being sarcastic lol
So true, absolute perfection
@@sheridanfam2020 Don't be silly
Ruthie Henshall still my first love for this song
I love Lea! She is so believable in her performances because of her talent. ❤
The greatest musical theatre singer of all time!!!😊💛💛💛💛
When she sings even if i close my eyes i can understand every single words she sings, truly one of the best in the world 🎉🎉🎉
I can feel her pain, who cut an onion 😭
Such a beautiful voice! Thank you, Lea! May God bless you always!
i wanna cry
This woman is absolutely the best of her time shes AMAZING .
Imagine Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schonberg seeing this back in 1989-90. A young 17 year old already a huge fan of the musical Le Mis. She dream that dream, and took that dream, turning it into something iconic.
the best I ever heard!!!!!
Flawless and Powerful….Lea is an absolute treasure
My favorite female singer! She is fantastic!

vidéo qui mérite des millions de vues . Lea Salonga chante merveilleusement bien cette magnifique chanson que j'adore aussi chanté par Susan Boyle's
she's the first singer to have 2 singing voices on Disney's princess.
You are so fabulous! Your voice is just the right amount of everything right now
She's simply great ❤

Lea Salonga es increíble! ❤
Magnificent
My favorite Fantine!
Wow❤
no one does it like her👏🏻
I just realized what a striking resemblance Lea Salonga bears to Kathryn Lee Scott when Scott played Maggie Evans on "Dark Shadows" from 1966-1971 !
