The thief on the cross had it better than all of us! He didn’t have to have none of these conversations. Lived like a straight up heathen his whole life and was remembered in paradise the moment he BELIEVED!!!! But hey, maybe it’s just me. Salvation is very simple.❤
Facing death, or death bed conversions are obviously acceptable to God, but we would agree that's not the model we should seek after. Every day all mankind faces their potential personal eschatology of the end of their life. Being a vessel that comes to Christ early in life and is used by the Holy Ghost to reach souls is better.
@ I absolutely agree with you. However that wasn’t the point I was trying to make. Again, we make it complicated when it’s really not by having these type of “debates” on who is living holier than the other. Salvation is simple not easy. Carrying a cross is not easy. Even Christ in His humanity had help carrying His cross to Calvary! The thief believed on Him and was saved! Not everyone get that in their youth!! That’s the point I was trying to make. Let us just be what He called us to be and that is a witness to The Gospel! Let’s be the hands and feet of Jesus! Tired of the division.
@@kimwilliams4800 I agree that mankind makes things complicated. So many men and women in the Church are beholden to a system rather than the simplicity of the Scriptures. The Lord desires unity for His Church and must be grieved with the lack. God bless you.
Yep you're saved the moment you accept christ as your Lord and Savior, believing He is God in the flesh who went to the cross so that you could be redeemed. Sanctification is a life long process.
Salvation is salvation. Discipleship is a life-long process after one is saved; as one is spiritually formed, they are progressively sanctified which is the transformational work of the Holy Spirit. In summary, free grace is what the Bible teaches.
@@chrisanok9283 Yes true. I do not think that anyone is denying that a person is a disciple the moment they are saved. The moment a person is saved results in what is called initial or positional sanctification. Then, there is what is called "progressive sanctification," which is the process of being conformed to the image of Christ from the moment you became and believer and continues over the course of your entire life. We do not automatically think and act 100% like Jesus does the moment we are saved, but rather we are progressively becoming more like Christ over time, hence the term "progressive sanctification." There is also final or complete sanctification, which speaks to the believer's final state in our resurrected bodies with the Lord. This is why when referencing believers, depending on the context, the Bible mentions we are already saved, in the process of being saved, and yet still to be saved. A few supporting passages are below. cf. Eph 2:8, initial sanctification cf. 1 Cor 1:18, progressive sanctification cf. 1 Cor 15:50-58, final sanctification Rom 5, addresses all three of these positions.

@@chrisanok9283 where is that written…? If we apply that standard to the entirety of the bible the only conclusion you can come to is that a grand total of 11 people were saved during the earthly ministry of Christ…which i wholeheartedly reject.
I say this with love. A simple warning to those who proclaim Christ. Do not abuse God’s grace and His sacrifice. If you say you believe in Christ, that should be shown in your life. Saying a prayer or dunking yourself in some water doesn't give you freedom to continue to "live" in sin.
If you DONT have the "freedom" to sin as a justified individual then you have not been justified at all. If you live in a state in which you can only sin a certain amount to be saved, that is a deceitful works salvation. We should not sin, not at all and we should live very holy lifestyles but for the purpose of the good of our neighbor and our own sanctification.
@@rylandmorrissey5511Willful continual unrepentant sin, causes separation from God and His grace. God gives grace to the humble and rejects the proud. You can't ignore the passages in Galatians Corinthians and Revelation that speak about those who will not inherit the kingdom of God. These passages referred to willful continual unrepentant sin.
yes you shouldn't abuse God's grace ofc absoulutly but remember regardless if you abuse it or whatever your still saved if you believed in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Sanctification vs justification. Justification is the point in which a man or woman is declared righteous. That happens at the point of confession.Sanctification is letting the word become effectual in the heart and life of the believer.

The point that Jesus was making there is the Father’s will concerning Himself(Jesus). 40 And *this is the will of him that sent me,* that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, *may* have everlasting life: and *I will raise him up at the last day.* Also, the phrase “may have” in the original language is in the subjunctive mood, meaning: “the mood of possibility and potentiality. Anyone who does not believe God has made him out to be a liar. 1 Samuel 15:29 He who is the Glory of Israel does not lie or change his mind for he is not a man that he should change his mind. Your breakdown of Jn 3:16 does not align with scripture. For the most part, it was just an overcomplication of the Greek. And please correct me if I'm wrong, but you seem to conflate justification with sanctification (I'm not saying you are not familiar with these terms), but the difference is pronounced. Grace is the power of God working in us to carry out his will, not the power of man.
Free gracers seems to conflate a one-time declaration of belief with unconditional certainty of sanctification glorification and ultimately union with God. Salvation is about being in a right standing with the Lord, not about saying the sinner's prayer. Also when God gives us His grace, we received the Holy Spirit. We synergistically work with the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit enables us and empowers us to overcome things we wouldn't normally overcome in the flesh. The Holy Spirit does not force us to do these things. We must listen to God's still small voice, ie the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit doesn't work against our will. That's why we can grieve the Holy Spirit. That's why the Bible says the Holy Spirit can be quenched if we continually ignore it's promptings.
@noybiznatch I never mentioned the sinners prayer in my original comment. I don't even refer to it as the sinners' prayer. I refer to it as the prayer unto salvation. Paul was clear in Rom 10:9-10 that we believe with the heart but confess with mouth that lordship of Christ. It is possible for a believer to fall from grace, but that is not based on work either. We live based on grace just as we we're saved by grace 👑.
Saved by Grace, kept by Grace. A concept few will understand because they resort to their works to justify their salvation. Remember it is not your works but the works of Christ for He is the breastplate righteousness and we have to put on the breastplate daily. If put on Christ, then we put on his righteousness. If we dont put on His righteousness the Bible makes it clear that there is none righteous not one. It also mentions to sow in the Spirit so that ye may yield the fruit of the Spirit. If you sow in the flesh you will only reap corruption. Though our works will be burned up our soul will still be saved. Keep this in mind when our works are tested through fire, it is better to bring some then not bring none at all when faced at the judgement seat of Christ.
I suggest you watch Hell testimonies of Christians going to Hell and explaining what it was like because they had some secret sin keep on thinking you can sin willfully that’s trick of the enemy from the pits of hell we can struggle with sin but he can’t just willfully sin and call ourselves Christians we have got to put in the work

See it?
James talks about this. It’s not simply saying that we believe but putting our faith in action. Believe is an action, faith is action, obedience is an action. By doing all of these it shows that we’re putting our faith in Jesus and his finish work on the cross, causing us to be saved. 18 But someone will say, “You have faith; I have deeds.” Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds. 19 You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that-and shudder.
Belief is not an action. It is mental ascent and simple acceptance which does not require an action. Ephesians 2:8-9 says that we’re not saved by works or ourselves. It is a gift of God and the gift of God is found in Romans 6:23.
James 2 is talking about being profitable to others and justifying yourselves before men and salvation is not offered to demons unlike humans. Salvation is a gift and God’s gifts are irrevocable (Romans 11:29) meaning that he won’t take it back. Good works are for helping others, blessings, fellowship, rewards, and to avoid God’s chastisement (Hebrews 12:8) not to be or stay saved.

Corey can u please explain to me why your interpretation of the Greek in John 3:16 contradicts what Jesus told the woman at the well in the very next chapter? U say it’s continual belief, and yet Jesus told her it was as simple as drinking water one time? He did the same when he claimed to be the bread of life, and did the same when he said that he needed to be lifted up as the serpent was lifted up in the wilderness. If it was continual belief, why did he make these examples?
There is no contradiction and you are confused. Jesus said that there would well up in you a well of living water, this causes a continual belief. It is ridiculous to think that if you stop believing then you are saved. If at death you are not a believer in Christ then you are not and were never saved. The person who believes temporarily (Luke 8) is not a true believer
@@smartchristians What a ridiculous interpretation of that passage. U impose ur own doctrine on the passage, while getting on other people about letting the passage speak for itself? Christian Forreal, when we do works it’s because the fruits of the spirit. Not because we have to do good works to be saved. The salvation has already taken place. We obey and deny ourselves and resist temptation and everything else that glorifies God out of gratitude for what Christ has already done for us. It’s Christ who has done the work. His work is finished and we work because we love Him. We must remember though that even our works are Jesus’ works because apart from Him we cannot do it.
We are saved by Grace not of works. Eph 2:8-9. But many stop reading there. If you read the very next verse you will see, we are God's workman unto all good works. Eph 2:10 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. Here is what Grace teaches us. Titus 2: 11-15 11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, 12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; 13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; 14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. 15 These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee. To God be the Glory
@@Redeemed_by_chr1st It says 'should'. Of course, you should do good works. However, good works has nothing to do with salvation. Stop backloading works into salvation. It is not about you. You know you have eternal life if you believe the record God gave us about his Son. Stop making it confusing and complicated. 1 John 2 25 And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life. 1 John 5 10 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. 11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. 13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
@ I agree with the word. I don’t agree with that other crap you’re talking about. I don’t believe in works based salvation. I believe we are saved by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, based on the scripture alone, for the glory of God alone. I believe that when a person is saved they’re always saved. The believer is in Christ’s hands. He gives us eternal life and nothing can snatch us out of his hand. I also believe we were created for good works Ephesians 2:10. Our works don’t save us, no. But are works for the glory of God and it’s a gauge for one’s spiritual maturity. By God’s grace I’m going to do good works.
Justification occurs at the moment of belief. God declares us righteous and saved, or justified, the very instant we accept Christ as our savior. Santification, which in essence means growing, or maturing in our walk with Christ, is an on-going experience that only terminates at death. The Gospel is not complicated. Woe to the theologians!
If you cant see that going back and forth to different languages to make your argument effectively redefining words to force fit your theology is a huge issue idk what to tell you. God made it simple, yet let us filthy men make him a liar. Anyone who is honest with themselves and has lived this Christian life has realized they will battle this filthy flesh till the day we die. Ask yourself are you still sinning???? Praise God its paid for if you believe. If its up to us we will fail. If its up to him we will win. Romans 4:5 KJV But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. The overuse of Greek and Hebrew can cause a lot of confusion. If those who translated the scriptures didn’t do a proper elucidation of scripture then they missed the mark and will cause a lot to meet that same fate. Since a good amount of translators seem to have different interpretations it can make it easy for an individual to be tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine (Eph 4:14). I trust the simplicity of the Gospel, because God speaks simple truth, to simple men. Also, the ordinary man and child can understand. That being said, And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house (Acts 16:30-33). The English version (KJV) is sufficient.

@@RealTr0y also 2 Timothy 2:13 proves that even if we stop believing we are still saved God won't deny himself and we are in the body of Christ so denying us would be denying himself.
Free Grace theology is the view that, 1) everlasting life is a free gift (which the Lord Jesus fully paid for by His death on the cross for our sins) which is received by faith alone in Christ alone, apart from works of any kind; 2) that assurance of one’s eternal destiny is based solely on believing Jesus’ promise to the believer and not at all on our works or on our feelings; and 3) that all people, believers and unbelievers, are accountable for their works, receive recompense for what they do in this life, and will be judged at the end of the age (in two separate judgments) to determine degrees of reward (believers) or degrees of torment (unbelievers) in the life to come, but not to determine their eternal destinies.
Yes. One of the other things that I noticed in conversation with a couple of "free-grace believers" is the indwelling of the Holy Spirit which is given to believers to cause us to walk in God's statutes and teach us is never considered. I mentioned this online to someone like the young guy you were talking to and got blocked. Even as Christ himself says that we will be known by our fruit.
@@CrowNo3t1c If ur saying that the indwelling of the Holy Spirit automatically caused the believer to walk in those statutes, then tell me why most of the New Testament writings are about the apostles exhorting believers to walk in said statutes. If it automatically happened, why did they spend their time writing to “brethren” about doing good works and abstaining from sin? James 2 is such a popular verse for people desperate to justify themselves by looking at their flesh, and yet James 2 wouldn’t exist or need to exist if what ur claiming is true. Did the Holy Spirit writing these things through the apostles waste their time or did it lie when calling these individuals brethren?
Good works are not automatic..you forget we have free will. We are admonished to put off the old man and put on the new man. We wouldn't be consistently reminded to walk in the Spirit if it was automatic. Proof it's not automatic are the carnal Christians in the new testament churches such as Corinth and Thessalonica
@RealTr0y The point of saying that you believe that you are saved without showing any signs of good works (as in the result of your salvation and NOT the cause of it) is extremely problematic to justify. Especially when you take scripture (including what Christ himself says) into consideration. So if you don't believe that the Spirit aids us in conviction, discipleship, good works, etc., that raises an alarm.
@@RealTr0yit’s not problematic because Romans 4:5 is a passage about justification. We see progressive sanctification in Abraham’s life because he truly trusted and believed God. Hebrews 11 also says that Abraham and so many others believed, so they did works.
I had watched this brother’s video about Corey the other day & hoped for him to have a conversation. Corey’s not over complicating the Gospel whatsoever never taught that works is what saves us but I’m starting to realize Free Gracers hate to hear someone being looked at with discernment because of their lack of obedience 🤔
Obedience is evidence of the regeneration and indwelling of the Holy Spirit that happens when a person is saved. When God saves us he doesn't just justify us in his sight he also does a work on the inside to change us into his image(Romans 8:29). No, works before and after justification aren't necessary to keep your justified state. That's true. Living a holy life is a fruit of being born again. Even though we're required to cooperate with God to live out our faith.
Corey how are you doing with your discipleship? You got enough under your belt to prove that you’re saved? In your actions, thought life, private life, motives etc? Have you obeyed enough? “Not perfect obedience” (double talk). How much then?
@@armanifryeowens5518 There is a verse in the Bible that seems like it says once you believe then bam you have the holy Ghost and it's game over you won't ever be lost. This is true but it is a process. How do we know? Some believers just like you came to John the Baptise. And he asks them this question. Have you received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? They believed but hadn't received the Holy Ghost yet. Once a person receives God and they have accepted his leadership in their lives. they love him and obey his commandments. We won't ever be perfect but the last thing we would want to do is hurt him. Then our actions are not about works it's about faith and love and following his leadership in our lives. how are people not understanding what Brother Corey is saying? it ain't about works ,but dont you want to put your best foot forward for Christ daily ? you dont just accept Christ and then continue your old ways , "like yep im saved i can do whatever " if you're thinking like that , than I'm sorry to tell you , but you're a certified goober haha .. Corey keep doing the awesome work brother ! God Bless
I understand wanting to be a disciple after salvation but not all people were like that in the Bible look at the church of Corinth. Have you done enough to certify your salvation ?
ur the one not understanding what we’re saying. None of us are saying u should go and do the same things u were doing before. This slander that u guys love to perpetuate is the same slander the apostles and early church were dealing with (Roman’s 3:8). Of course u should do good, that’s just common sense in the world nowadays. It just has 0 to do with your salvation. If ur only doing good works cuz ur scared that ur daddy is gonna throw u in hell, that is wicked. U don’t do them out of love, u do them out of fear of what might happen if u don’t.
@RealTr0y we should fear God and revere Him, but I agree. It's not about how many works or how good someone is, there is no way for any of us to honestly judge that with someone and no way of knowing how God will use them in the course of their life. If they proclaim Christ as Lord and believe He died for our sins and conquered the grave, they are saved as far as we can know and honestly judge. All good works we do after being saved are already appointed by God anyhow beforehand. We don't even control them in that sense. God planned em out for us to carry out with the Holy Spirit guiding us.
@ I agree we should fear and revere Him, which is why I also believe Him when He says I can do nothing to save myself and I can only rely on His grace and love. People who think their works are playing a part in their salvation, don’t truly fear and revere Him. The NT tells us not to fear Him so I’m just wondering what u mean by fearing Him?
@@RealTr0y In Luke, Jesus is telling a parable about an unjust judge who didn't fear God. Fear in the context of reverance and awe, which the greek word for fear can/does mean. So we are to fear God in that sense. Not as in run and hide from Him. And like I pointed out, I agree our works don't play a part in our salvation. We only do said works because we are saved and God planned them in advance.
To me this is real simple. If a person accepts Justification by Faith but then does not follow through by cooperating in sanctification, he or she is not saved. Salvation must be maintained by continual Faith also called abiding in Christ.
@@christianforreal Scripture says it is on you to keep abiding in Christ. Being justified does not mean your free will has been removed. Scripture clearly says to work out your salvation with fear and trembling and warns us to avoid temptations and succumbing to them. So, no this is not a contradiction of John 10:28.
@@thenowchurch6419 Fear and trembling 21 And when Jesus was passed over again by ship unto the other side, much people gathered unto him: and he was nigh unto the sea. 22 And, behold, there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name; and when he saw him, he fell at his feet, 23 And besought him greatly, saying, My little daughter lieth at the point of death: I pray thee, come and lay thy hands on her, that she may be healed; and she shall live. 24 And Jesus went with him; and much people followed him, and thronged him. 25 And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years, 26 And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse, 27 When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment. 28 For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole. 29 And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague. 30 And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes? 31 And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me? 32 And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing. 33 But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth. 34 And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague. Psalm 2 11 Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling. The fear and trembling is representation of awe of Gods power not a fear of condemnation.
@6:45-8:06 SCC keeps saying that John 3:16 means that “those who are believing in Jesus *WOULD* never perish” or *”WILL never ever ever* perish”, but the verse says: “…that whosoever believeth in him *SHOULD* (ἀπόληται-apollymi) not perish” ἀπόληται-apollymi (perish or be destroyed) In John 3:16 is written in the subjunctive. Greek subjunctive mood: The mood of possibility and potentiality. The action described *may or may not occur, depending upon circumstances.* 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him *should not perish,* but have everlasting life.
When you are saved you then become a disciple. They are two different things based on progress in a believer's through justification and sanctification.
Agreed. However, it's also important to not separate them. When we do, we have the sort of thinking that christian forreal was trying to highlight before. How can we say we believe, yet our actions, thoughts and speech do not align with that belief? Same way that justification and sanctification are not separate, but all part of the same savign work of God in those who believe: Romans 8:29-30: For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.
@@unworthyServant08what actions align with being saved? If salvation isnt by our actions then how can our actions be connected to salvation 🤔 Christ did the work. We do good works out of love. But those works are not evidence of being saved. Other religions do good deeds too but theyre not saved because they don't believe.
Our actions, our fruit, are reflective of the salvific work of Christ in us. Remember that we are being grafted into the Tree of Life that is Christ. Also, God’s Spirit is at work in us, causing us to will and to do what pleases our Heavenly Father. For example: when John was proclaiming repentance, the Israelites would ask him what they must do to live out their repentance, to which he gave examples, all of which are rooted in the two commandments Christ said are most important: to love God entirely, and to love our neighbors as ourselves. Works don’t save, but works are invariably part and parcel of a life redeemed by Christ. They are how we express our gratitude to God, how we obey Him. Also, while discipleship includes works, discipleship is about loving the submitted life before Christ, our Master, which is what we were saved for.
Guys... This is the way to end the problem. Focus not on your works, level of post belief obedience, but rather on what the Holy Spirit does. John 14:16 “And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you FOREVER. 1 Cor. 1:21 Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and anointed us is God, 22 who also sealed us and gave us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee Ephesian 1:13 In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation-having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise, 14 who is given as a pledge of our inheritance, with a view to the redemption of God’s own possession, to the praise of His glory. So the way this argument goes is simple. The Holy Spirit, once received after belief seals and indwells and guarantees everlasting life. That's that. Period. The yahoos who pretend that obedience = faith only need to show any passage which show the Spirit leaving the one who has believed, has been established in Christ, sealed by the Spirit, and indwelt by the Spirit. Of course none exists Hooray! You are saved forever! Case closed.
I feel like there were alot of unnecessary explaining here. It's Jesus' performance or perfect living that secures our salvation when we believe on Him. Our performance or right doing is as filthy rags. Jesus did the living right - He fulfilled the law. Jesus took sin upon Himself, bore the punishment, and fully atoned for sin- death, burial, resurrection. He represents us to the Father - He seated at the right hand of the father. This is why our Salvation is by grace(God did all the work through Jesus), By Faith(We believe what He did), we are saved. Now we spend our life renewing our mind and conforming to His word. Until his return, we have to contend with the flesh but our spirit(Completely saved)is sealed by the Holy Spirit. After being saved, sin no longer disrupts your right standing with God but it can definitely destroy your earthly experience.
Very humble & teachable guess. However Hebrews 12 [14]Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord. I’m team Christian on this one. Corey, have you read Luther’s commentary on Galatians? “If men only believe enough in Christ they can commit adultery and murder a thousand times a day without periling their salvation.” Other Bible scholars like RC Sproul and Robert Capon preached the same. Billy Graham’s old friend, Dr. Steve Brown of Key Life, puts it this way, “The good news is that Christ frees us from the need to obnoxiously focus on our goodness, our commitment, and our correctness. Religious has made us obsessive almost beyond endurance. Jesus invited us to a dance...and we've turned in into a march of soldiers, always checking to see if we're doing it right and are in step and in line with the other soldiers. We know a dance would be more fun, but we believe we must go through hell to get to heaven, so we keep marching.” Steve is practically the only preacher I know who gets it. You should reach out to him. He’s very busy but is famous for always giving time and prioritizing preachers.
So far everyone of them ive talked to they all had one thing in common. They still love their sin. You cannot serve 2 masters you either love the one and hate the other. Be loyal to the one and despise the either. As long as they love their sin then they hate Jesus.
I've got a few questions about Hebrews 10:14 and 1 Corinthians 6:11. Hebrews uses sanctified past tense. And 1Cor 6:11 says you are sanctified. I recently heard the explanation that asking for forgiveness over and over again would be similar to going back to animal sacrifices I mean like Yeshua died for all of our sins and I'd say I sinned again, please go to the cross.
Deny yourself daily means to discredit your HUMANISTIC values, thoughts, feelings, and the philosophies engrained in your mind and THEN you must know and adopt His thoughts, daily. ANY TIME YOUR THOUGHTS DISAGREE WITH HIS YOU ARE IN SIN
@dalightmaiso1553 I missed that part of this convo! Did Corey mention anything about conditional salvation? Brother Corey keeps rejecting Calvinism but he's saying all the right things....just come on over, we have plenty of room brother. I get it though, when you add labels you necessarily create barriers for other believers (the unlearned ones, that's a half joke) and this could be the reason.
@@jtbtdlkt2012the condition is that they need to be continually believing. Even tho that contradicts with what Jesus told the Samaritan woman at the well. One drink will be a well springing up into everlasting life. John 4:13-14. It’s such a strange condition to put on salvation. Ig people want to have anything to boast about to Christ.
@RealTr0y I believe this stems from a different foundation that we start on for salvation. One view (the view that seems to catch a ton of flack) says that salvation starts from God (regeneration precedes faith) and the more popular view says that salvation starts from man (man enacts faith and becomes regenerated). So what happens is that we talk past each other like passing ships at night, case in point right here. What seems like a condition for you is a fruit for the reformed view; NEEDS to continue in faith would be rephrased as "WILL continue in faith if God regenerated their heart". It's like trying to make sense of a calculus equation by using a Spanish text book.
@RealTr0y Is the initial faith to receive salvation, and be saved, considered a condition and thus make salvation conditional? Is salvation just being justified before a holy God and escaping his wrath?
@@michaelharrison8586 Are you going to address the scripture I brought up in my initial reply or are you just here to try and contradict scripture with your philosophical rants?
It’s hard to love your enemie walking around fruit inspecting the way Corey talks about it. It seems subjective deciding what sins prove to you someone is not saved vs how they actually changed and continue to get better. We don’t know peoples heart or past to try and prove who is saved or not. Examine yourself and yes we can help our brothers but they are brothers we aren’t the one to decide if they are saved or not. We would never know only God knows that. The Bible tells us how to examine someone’s fruit to see if they are a false teacher. But the Bible also tells us to examine ourselves not to examine others to see if they are saved or not. It’s very hard to love people genuinely while walking around with those glasses on.
I think what Christian for real is missing is that yes we are saved by grace through faith but then God does a supernatural work in our hearts to make us want to follow Him and obey him. I think he is missing the change of heart part that comes with the new birth.
You’re going to sin every single day of your life-every day-a hundred, nay, a thousand times. Every time you pass someone at the store and you fail to give them the Gospel, you’ve sinned. Every single foolish, fleeting thought is a sin. And each and every one of those entitles you to everlasting hellfire. James 2:10. After belief, you have a dual nature: your flesh remains and it will sin every single day, and you also have the new man (inner man), who is sinlessly perfect, righteous, and loved as a son. That nature cannot sin. We do not need to show a “change of heart” (whatever that means) to be saved. We do not need to do anything, other than simply believe in Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection. 1 Cor. 15:1-4; John 3:16.
@@GiftofGod289 Why do you keep reading these verses without context? John 3 Talks about being born again or born from above, so the change of heart is there. God changes the heart, believing it's not intellectual. It produces works. James 3. Saving faith produces good works. True believers will live for Christ. That is what Matthew 7 is about. Read the verses in context, my friend.

Maybe some Bible scholars would say that, " the believing ones" is implied information for those who BELIEVE!!! 🙏🏽😁
Corey, read your Bible. Yes you can be a Christian without looking like one. You think everyone that "gets saved" loves Jesus? That comes with time. NOT EVERY BELIEVER IS A DISCIPLE!!!! John 3 is a story about how Nicodemus was a child of God even though in all his religious learning didn't UNDERSTAND salvation. I used to listen to Corey but he has gone off the deep end and refuses to even reason from scripture, just listen to which one of these guys is full of Grace. Corey you have too much learning and you are not letting God speak to you, your education has damaged your humility. Meditate on the Word, wisdom comes from God, not Bible school. Corey isn't even interested in another view because...? Why are we worrying about who is and who isn't saved? Didn't Jesus tell us the tares would grow with us and He would separate us at the end of days. So so foolish. Corey, your theology seems to have devolved. I don't think your guest here is right about everything but he definitely "looks" more Christlike than you. Pride kills faith. Why do you care if someone is saved or not? Salvation is 100% God's work, you make it our work. Corey, stop with the logic and let God speak.
@@-Thelordismyshepherd- if you're going to hell based on your sin after you're saved.. then you better be 100% perfect and not sin even once after you're saved.. James 2:10 King James Version 10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.
@@-Thelordismyshepherd- "Do you believe you will sin until you pass?" Yes, because we are not removed from sin in our mortal bodies. We do not have to become sinless to be saved, otherwise Jesus died for nothing. BTW, he didn't just die for the elect either...
But Corey…that still means God gave Jesus bc He loves the world. Yes, AND that we would never perish. It’s both. 🙏🏽✝️. However, Jesus also said “If you love Me, you’ll keep my commandments.” We gotta ask the Holy Spirit to help us LIVE a HOLY life! God bless!
did God love the world before Jesus birth and death? Of course he did. This is basic grammar, English or Greek. He gave His son "so that" (which explains the reason) that the believing ones will never perish. If it were just for the world, then the entire world would be saved.
The fundamental problem with the "free grace" movement is its proponents' failure to understand the meanings of the words translated as 'faith,' and 'grace' in the New Testament. What the "free grace" proponents (and few other Christians) realise is that the Greek verb πιστεύω (pisteuó), the noun πίστις (pistis), typically translated along the lines of 'believe' and 'faith/belief', the adjective πιστός (πιστός), respectively, concern _trusting faithulness_ , not just little more than cognitive belief and faith. It certainly has nothing to do with wishing hard or belief without evidence. Thus, it was Abraham's _trusting faithulness_ that was credited to him as righteousness (Romans 4:3), not his mere belief. Hence those who ascribe to the faith vs works dichotomy are really playing off belief against faithfulness and conflating faithfulness with works and tend to deprecate the call to the obedience of faithfulness (Romans 1:5; 16:26). Notably, the same translators who exhibit such insistence on rendering πίστις (pistis) as 'faith' or 'belief' and πιστεύω (pisteuó) as 'believe' when it applies to humans have no difficulty in rendering them as 'faithfulness' or 'entrust', respectively, when it applies to God and seemingly have no trouble rendering πιστός (πιστός) as trustworthy or faithful in relation to God and people alike. Today's church has been seriously misled by a false faith vs works dichotomy. What those who place these two New Testament concepts in opposition to each other are really doing is playing off faithfulness against works. One result of this false dichotomy is the tendency to deprecate the call to the obedience of faithfulness (Romans 1:5; 16:26). For a full treatment of πιστεύω (pisteuó), πίστις (pistis) and πιστός (πιστός) in their first century context, see _Roman Faith and Christian Faith: Pistis and Fides in the Early Roman Empire and Early Churches_ (Morgan, 2015). Similarly, the idea that everything is covered by God's grace and that this demands nothing of us is entirely false. In the first century grace, and its expression in the form of gifts existed in the context of reciprocal relationships; if someone did something for you, you were expected to make an appropriate response and failure to do so was an affront. Grace makes demands of the one on whom it is bestowed. Hence, failure to either acknowledge God's gift of salvation through trusting faithfulness (Ephesians 2:8), or to respond appropriately, is itself an offence. And, for what it's worth, all those references to the 'free gift' of God in Romans 5:15-17 & 6:23 in translations such as the ESV, GNT, NASB, NLT, NRSV & RSV are wrong: the word 'free' is not in the Greek text. Similarly, 'freely', as in "all are justified freely by his grace" in some translations of Romans 3:24 (e.g. GNT, ISV, KJV, NKJV, NIV) does not appear in the Greek text; the word there is δωρεάν (dórean), meaning 'gift', and the expression should be translated along the lines of "all are justified by his grace as a gift" (ESV). Likewise, in Ephesians 1:6, 'freely' in the GNT, NASB, NIV & NRSV isn't in the Greek text. The word used is χαριτόω (charitoó), meaning only 'to endow with grace'. In each case, translators have imported their modern notions of grace and gifts into the text. For a full treatment of gifts and grace in the first century context, especially in the writings of Paul, see _Paul and the Gift_ (Barclay, 2017) or _Paul and the Power of Grace_ (Barclay, 2020). God's saving grace is unconditioned, but it's not unconditional.
Over 20 paragraphs, you distorted and confused your point so thoroughly that none can understand it. Wading through this ambiguous, hopelessly lost mess all but confirms that a timeless, almighty, omnipotent, omnipresent God would never subscribe to such a twisted theology. God is not the author of confusion. 1 Cor. 14:33. We do not need to be interpreters and biblical scholars to understand the simplicity of the Gospel; even children understand it.
@GiftofGod289 Kindergarten level counting is evidently beyond you, so I guess I can't blame you for not being able to grasp the fundamental truths of Scripture. Let me put it for you at a very basic level with something Hudson Taylor famously said: _Jesus is Lord of All, or He is not Lord at All_
@@Berean_with_a_BTh I still do not understand your point. The random quote does nothing to assist. Here’s my point and it’ll be clear and easy, like the Gospel: we do not need to do a single good deed or stop a single bad deed to be saved, prove we are saved, or keep us saved. All we have to do is believe that Christ died, was buried, and rose again the third day, and thereafter, no matter what I do, think, or say, I am permanently and eternally saved. Amen.
@GiftofGod289 That is heretical. Even the demons believe that much - and shudder (James 2:19). You really do need to pay more attention to what Scripture says and spend less time listening to what free grace heretics say. Start with Matthew 7:13-27.
@ the demons do not believe the Gospel. Do not lie. They simply believe in monotheism-that there is one God: “You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that-and shudder.” James 2:19.
When someone emphasizes the importance of the Hebrew or Greek I think of men who have died or suffered (Wycliff/Tyndale) if memory serves to provide the world with an English translation. There was a time when the commoner could not have a bible. Only the erudite (learned) of the church had the scripture. Gods providence changed all that! Often to hear some its as if it was all for not. While it may be and is good to be verse in the Hebrew or Greek its not necessary to have a sound grasp of the sacred scripture. My proof is the following: #1 many scholars which do understand will disagree on doctrinal issues. #2. Ask yourself how many theologians have "CHANGED" their eschatology, pnuematology, ecclesiology or soteriology based on a particular understanding of the original languages. Personally I have watched and listened to a myriads of theology debates and when someone wips out the Greek or Hebrew the debate is won SAID NO ONE EVER. Take Corey on John 3:16. To smart by a half the saying goes. Allow me to exegete the text. #1 God loves the world #2 God gave His Son #3 Whoseover believes shall not perish but have everlasting life. To be fair to Corey there is MORE to that. Such as needing to "continuing" to believe. But that is resolved with a biblical hermeneutic of scripture interprets scripture. Other versus such 1 John "He is a propitiation for our sins and the whole world". Scripture says He died for all especially for those that believe. Nowhere does the English translations not suffice unless one wants to come off as erudite. One should use it sparangly if absolutely needed in my opinion. Few things sound as silly as when a minister breaks down the meaning in the "original" only to present basically a synonym😅
John 3:16 is a situation where Jesus is speaking to Jews. and yes, Jews were required to believe and to never stop believing. Okay got it. And the same goes for Luke 9:23. Now does Paul say that? No he doesn’t. Why. Because Paul was not preaching what Jesus preached to the Jews. It’s that simple. The young man is right. We should obey. We should live a good Christian life. Because Apostle Paul says we should. But whether we do or not our salvation is not dependent on it. Jesus makes salvation dependent on works/conduct/obedience etc. because Jesus preached a different gospel. Notice how Corey snuck in ,” we don’t do it perfectly” in regards to living a Christian life. Jesus never gives that out. And Corey tells us what the real point is. In Luke 9:23 Corey quotes it and then says it doesn’t mean what it says. The verse literally says daily. But according to Corey it doesn’t really mean that. You cont have your cake and eat it too. In regards to repentance I don’t believe Paul ever requires repentance as part of the process of salvation. Is repentance innately tied to salvation. I’d say yes. But Pual does not make it a condition. Jesus does. Why because he was preaching and teaching to Jews. Jews who were called to be a royal priesthood. And there are people who know they’re saved because of what Christ has done and because of what they themselves are doing. Like Corey. Corey looks at his life and he is sure that he is saved. Because his life is reflecting that of a saved person. I look up my life, and I know I am saved because I believe in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ alone. See the difference? I get it. Corey means well and he wants Christians to behave consistent with their faith. All good I like it me too. But praise God our conduct has nothing to do with our salvation.
@pjsepulved you're conflating what Corey said; why would you assume he doesn't believe in the life, burial and resurrection for his salvation? I like how you're intentional on context for those verses, that's awesome but are you consistent? Will you hold yourself to the same standard when someone mentions verses about being dead in sins or that by nature you are a child of wrath, or even "that you must be born from above". You see, in those texts I get the feeling you'll do exactly what you accuse Corey of doing and you'll be tempted to say "those words don't really mean what it says". This is just an assumption because for all I know you may very well 10000% agree that those texts mean exactly what they say; that we're spiritually dead and can't initiate our own new life, that our nature is against God and we'll never choose God on our own accord, and that we can't birth ourselves anymore that we could birth ourself into the temporal realm.
@ I’m sure Corey does believe in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ for salvation. And he also examines his life to ensure that he is living according to his faith. He said as much. And that’s fine. As we all should. But to determine if oneself is saved by analyzing one’s life, that’s the problem. Being logical about that means a Christian must examine his works to determine whether his works are sufficient for sustaining salvation. Now, if that person is comforted by his works for maintaining salvation, it follows that same person is trusting in their works to some degree. And no longer trusting in only in Christ. I personally say that I trust in Christ and Christ alone for my salvation. I have God’s seal upon me and it cannot be removed. I can do nothing to earn salvation and I can do nothing to sustain it. There’s a difference in these two views. And it’s significant. Many Christians are not comfortable with my position. I get it. They want to be involved in their salvation to some degree or in some way. Not me. Christ has done all the work. And all sin has been forgiven at the shedding of his blood. All sin. And apostle Paul says that now that we are Christians, we are dead to the old man alive to the new and we should move in life according to our faith in Christ. And those works that survive the judgment fire, gold, silver, and precious stones will be rewarded but the Hay chaff and stubble will be burned up.
@pjsepulved I get what you're saying. I think your disdain for a certain doctrine, even though brother Corey doesn't claim to be one, clouds your vision on anything those types of Christians say. I see no fault at all in what you've expressed since it accords with calvinism and I'm sure no self respecting calvinist would find fault in it. I know that I'm saved for the very reasons that you posited. From my end, "inspecting" the fruits helps me as a father because I can match my daughter's profession of faith against what comes out in their life; their speech, disposition, attitude, kindness etc. All this to say, if they were to backslide or stumble I could walk alongside them and point to what Christ has done in their lives. For my stepson that's a bit different since he made a profession of faith early on in his youth and shortly thereafter his life seemed to take a turn for the worst, by not at all showing any fruits of the spirit no love for the things of God etc. In that I was able to minister to him and eventually get to a point where we continually pray for his salvation. Had I not done the work of a parent by "inspecting fruit" I would have no need or desire to pray for his salvation (as a family we're going on 5-6 years of faithfully praying for that) since I would have assumed he was saved to begin with; I don't know if he is or not but I'm 99.9% he isn't. If fruit inspection good, I'd say in the sense of knowing how to pray for someone I'd say it is very good.
What does 2 Corinthians 13:5 "Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Or do you not realize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?-unless indeed you fail to meet the test!" mean?
@@michaelharrison8586 why are you quoting this verse at me? I believe Christians should be sober about their salvation. That they should grow in the understanding of the gospel. All Christians should make sure they have the right gospel. Paul warn us about false gospels that are not gospels at all.

Yes ! ❤️
Love this how brothers are conversing and expounding on scriptures. 2 Timothy 3:16…
This is one of the best conversations I’ve listened to in a while I pray God blesses you both
The thief on the cross had it better than all of us!

People are only sanctified when they yield to the sanctifying work of The Spirit
Not true. There is no distinction between salvation and discipleship. The moment we are saved, we are a disciple.
We do not automatically think and act 100% like Jesus does the moment we are saved, but rather we are progressively becoming more like Christ over time, hence the term "progressive sanctification."
There is also final or complete sanctification, which speaks to the believer's final state in our resurrected bodies with the Lord. This is why when referencing believers, depending on the context, the Bible mentions we are already saved, in the process of being saved, and yet still to be saved. A few supporting passages are below.
cf. Eph 2:8, initial sanctification
cf. 1 Cor 1:18, progressive sanctification
cf. 1 Cor 15:50-58, final sanctification
Rom 5, addresses all three of these positions.

@iamiv909 I agree, but the distinction has to be made between "What MUST I do to be saved? And What SHOULD I do now that I'm saved". God bless.

Became born again in 1995, got carried away by different kinds of teachings like you can lose your salvation, lived in anxiety and depression until recently through the power of the Holy Spirit and answered prayer i finally believed the simplicity of the gospel for it is written John 6:40 And my Father's will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. 1 John 5:10 Anyone who believes in the Son of God has this testimony in his heart.
If there are no works at all, the person was not saved to begin with.

James talks about this. It’s not simply saying that we believe but putting our faith in action. Believe is an action, faith is action, obedience is an action. By doing all of these it shows that we’re putting our faith in Jesus and his finish work on the cross, causing us to be saved.
18 But someone will say, “You have faith; I have deeds.”
Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds.

I agree with the "grace through faith alone" due to scripture.
So practice the Fruit of the Spirit

Tell me why his interpretation of the Greek in John 3:16 contradicts what Jesus tells the woman at the well in the very next chapter? @@RealTr0y also 2 Timothy 2:13 proves that even if we stop believing we are still saved God won't deny himself and we are in the body of Christ so denying us would be denying himself.
Free Grace theology is the view that,
1) everlasting life is a free gift (which the Lord Jesus fully paid for by His death on the cross for our sins) which is received by faith alone in Christ alone, apart from works of any kind;
2) that assurance of one’s eternal destiny is based solely on believing Jesus’ promise to the believer and not at all on our works or on our feelings; and
3) that all people, believers and unbelievers, are accountable for their works, receive recompense for what they do in this life, and will be judged at the end of the age (in two separate judgments) to determine degrees of reward (believers) or degrees of torment (unbelievers) in the life to come, but not to determine their eternal destinies.
The title of this video should be called “2 once saved always saved fools collaborating”
@ Roman’s 4:5 is problematic to you? Then you have a problem with the simplicity of the gospel, don’t know what to tell ya. 2 Corinthians 11:3
@@RealTr0yit’s not problematic because Romans 4:5 is a passage about justification. We see progressive sanctification in Abraham’s life because he truly trusted and believed God. Hebrews 11 also says that Abraham and so many others believed, so they did works.

We only do said works because we are saved and God planned them in advance.
To me this is real simple.
If a person accepts Justification by Faith but then does not follow through by cooperating in sanctification, he or she is not saved.
Salvation must be maintained by continual Faith also called abiding in Christ.
Then that means it's on you to keep your salvation; which contradicts John 10:28
@@christianforreal Scripture says it is on you to keep abiding in Christ.
Being justified does not mean your free will has been removed.
Scripture clearly says to work out your salvation with fear and trembling and warns us to avoid temptations and succumbing to them.

Do christians have genuine free will after salvation
@6:45-8:06 SCC keeps saying that John 3:16 means that “those who are believing in Jesus *WOULD* never perish” or *”WILL never ever ever* perish”, but the verse says:
“…that whosoever believeth in him *SHOULD* (ἀπόληται-apollymi) not perish”
ἀπόληται-apollymi (perish or be destroyed) In John 3:16 is written in the subjunctive.
Greek subjunctive mood:
The mood of possibility and potentiality. The action described *may or may not occur, depending upon circumstances.*
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him *should not perish,* but have everlasting life.
@unworthyServant08 I think there's a hyper side to any group. I follow Christ and trust him fully.
@unworthyServant08 Seeing that Christ is Lord and does these works in us, belief in that he is would be my reasonable response.
Ephesians 2:8-9 never leave out verse 10
Guys...
This is the way to end the problem. Focus not on your works, level of post belief obedience, but rather on what the Holy Spirit does.
John 14:16 “And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you FOREVER.
1 Cor. 1:21 Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and anointed us is God, 22 who also sealed us and gave us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee
Ephesian 1:13 In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation-having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise, 14 who is given as a pledge of our inheritance, with a view to the redemption of God’s own possession, to the praise of His glory.
Of course none exists
Hooray! You are saved forever!
Case closed.
what greek translation are you using please.
And it can destroy your treasures in heaven. We will still be judged, but it won't be a matter of salvation. 1 Cor. 11:32, 2 Cor 5:10

Other Bible scholars like RC Sproul and Robert Capon preached the same. Brother Corey keeps rejecting Calvinism but he's saying all the right things....just come on over, we have plenty of room brother. I get it though, when you add labels you necessarily create barriers for other believers (the unlearned ones, that's a half joke) and this could be the reason.

Let me put it for you at a very basic level with something Hudson Taylor famously said:
_Jesus is Lord of All, or He is not Lord at All_
@@Berean_with_a_BTh I still do not understand your point.
Do not lie. They simply believe in monotheism-that there is one God:
“You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that-and shudder.”
James 2:19.
My proof is the following: #1 many scholars
which do understand will disagree on doctrinal issues. #2. Ask yourself how many theologians have "CHANGED" their eschatology, pnuematology, ecclesiology or soteriology based on a particular understanding of the original languages.
Personally I have watched and listened to a
myriads of theology debates and when someone wips out the Greek or Hebrew the debate is won SAID NO ONE EVER.
Take Corey on John 3:16. To smart by a half the saying goes. Allow me to exegete the text.
#1 God loves the world
#2 God gave His Son
#3 Whoseover believes shall not perish but have everlasting life.
@pjsepulved I get what you're saying.
What does 2 Corinthians 13:5
"Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith.
Titus 1:9-11.
No gospel on THIS channel...
What is the gospel then ?
When you rapid fire said “Nope” that you do not see a difference between salvation and discipleship, I left. You flunked Infant Theology 101.
How's John 3:16 not clear in english? That whosoever shall believe in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. If I say whoever is wearing white shirts in the class, please go to the gym. Was not the instruction announced to the whole class but at the same time excluding some members? Stop this issue of focusing on the greek as it was God who confused the language of the people at the plain of Shinar. Therefore, God knows what He was /is doing. What is it that you believe on? Salvation or being saved? For the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life. "DO not be afraid of the one who can kill the body for after that can do nothing, but be afraid of the one who has the power to destroy both body and soul in hell. We accept God's gift because, oh death where is thy victory oh grave, where is thy sting? Jesus came to restore mankind back to his immortality which he lost in the garden..
