Bro fckin same. It's like nobody knows how to build her. You need crazy mana ramp, not hard to do, get her down by turn 4 maybe 5, fight spells and token doublers. Part of me thinks they don't want to go through the hassle of keeping track of what tokens they have so they intentionally don't use her ability. Easy lazy money from views without having to do anything and all these videos the decks are 100% rigged on all the mtg channels. They always all draw great hands and 1 or 2 always have sol ring turn 1
because they are build so badly, try it with like 15 spiders and like 20 cards saying "target creature deal dmg equal to its power" or equipement that allow your creature to deal dmg without attacking.
ngl but this was a bad game to watch. there was such a clear power discrepancy between sisay vs the other decks, idrk how that was approved to play beforehand. Table was prob around PL 6'ish and the Sisay deck was def like a solid 8/8.5 (player said he even had fast mana inside the deck so it might even be hitting PL9). just wished the pod was more even, cause this was hard to get through.
I built a similar theme deck as Sisay but with Tazri Beacon of Unity. All the art work was of women like Noble hierarch and kaya etc. Built the deck for the wife, as representation in the art work sparked her interest and respect for the game.
I didn't understand why everyone hit each other in the face FOR TWO ROUNDS and didn't bother attacking the Teferi when they kept saying it was going to be a problem.
That second introduction was very cringe. Don’t know what he was eluding to at the end but uh this is mtg right? Yes ok let’s have some fun and enjoy the game 😬
I feel as if this was a pub stomp. No other deck got to do anything and was way over powering over the other 3 decks. WAY early on pretty much everyone knew it was a waiting game to lose. Sux to not see the spider deck do anything and well the other 2 decks really. Rule 0 wasn't too informative which is unfortunate.
It's more a combo deck. Then superfriends. I only tutor the planeswalkers to the battlefield when I'm intending to win!. But your point still stands, kill em whilst they are still killable
Mad respect to the deck theme but it was horribly imbalanced power level-wise compared to the rest of the table. Can’t even say it was a mistake because his wife was playing an upgraded Chishiro deck so he should have known better to run a lower powered deck or at least have her play a deck that’s on-par with Sissay. Tutor on a stick types of decks don’t make for good RUclips content too. Threat assessment was pretty bad when they had the chance to take Teferi out. Kind of a bummer since I love most episodes but this one was a dud.
At 28:53 when he activates Sisay the ability says "mana value less than Sisay's power", and the card he grabbed is mana value 4. No power buffs were put on Sisay at this point so he could not have grabbed Dynaheir with the ability.
Sisay gave herself +2/+2 from having Teferi on the board since he is a legendary permeant with two colors. That being said it still does not put her high enough to fetch for Dynaheir. I have a Sisay shrine deck and I often forget it is mana value less than and not less than or equal to. Easy mistake I have made if I have not played the deck in a while.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the Otawara wasn't handled correctly, and I see nobody talking about that? The Spinning Wheel Kick would still resolve (it still has some other valid targets), and the creature _can_ deal the damage even after having left the battlefield (using its last known information), so the planeswalkers should've died. Am I wrong here?
608.2b If the spell or ability specifies targets, it checks whether the targets are still legal. A target that’s no longer in the zone it was in when it was targeted is illegal.
LOTR is an exception since it is from an outside source material, but mtg is a game with thousands of cards that have made up names of unknown origin, where few players actually know how to pronounce them and just take their best guess. How often would you ever actually hear someone pronounce a card like Llanowar Elves correctly at an LGS?
Thid was an awkward game. No one went after t3, strange commentary… the vibe felt odd and off. Always love the content , but this one was a curve ball.
Didn't enjoy this episode too much personally. Power level discrepancy was pretty big and then there was little interaction and unfortunately not that great threat assessment. This led to only one deck really doing it's thing. I did like the black is magic themed deck but apparently quite a lot of powerful cards still fit the bill. Love to see the other decks return to see them shine and maybe pair the Sisay deck with others that fit the powerlevel.
Why did Bryce draw at 30:58? Ayli does pay for the tax after explaining the card. Is there another trigger that was missed/not explained? I don’t think this changes the outcome of the game at all since he tutors for the combo pieces anyways.
This is the most ridiculous example of king making I've ever seen in a commander game, the chick next to the dude playing sissay basically let this dude win by not attacking him at all, kinda bullshit
I got the vibe she's just new to the game. She didn't want to step on anyone's toes. But yeah if she targeted Tefari early game could have went a lot different.
Wow, I did not expect this wincon. But what I learned from playing against a nasty Morph deck: The minute Cloudstone Curio hits the table IT'S BAD NEWS. Very creative way with Mount Doom to ping everyone down. GGs black deck!
12:45 The Vamp Tutor is from Visions, which is set on Jamuraa, a major continent on Dominaria and majority black; I'd argue it is a black person/vampire
Least entertaining game I’ve seen on this channel. Nothing happened all game because his wife didn’t want to get rid of the only threat on the board even when he asked to clarify “attacking teferi or just me..” Also probably should have made sure the decks were all on the same power level..playing a cedh all star tutor commander against a pod of very much not that is not going to make for a fair or fun game to watch or be a part of Ayli and Lynch were a pleasure as always to watch.
I’ve watched every video even since neto was playing, almost every single video made me smile, laugh and feel amazing after watching. IHYD is addictive and easily one of my favorite escapes from reality. And I can comfortably say I did not smile, laugh nor did I feel the spirit of what I know IHYD is about. This was a complete pub stomp, and the racial humor was cringy and hard to watch. I hope that this message is received in a positive light, as I love this channel and want it to thrive
Yeah, it was pretty obvious that Bryce had something big. He had the ability to cast cards as instants and kept all his mana untapped. On top of that his wife specifically avoided attacking his planeswalker combo pieces when she had the chance and instead opted to do direct damage. To me it seems she let him win on purpose. She didn't do a single thing the entire rest of the game.
Yea I’ve dealt with that before granted I was the open target with no creatures but one of the players kept attacking me meanwhile the other 2 are playing damn near every card they have and I’m just sitting there like cool nice threat assessment bro🤣✊🏼 I even told the dude I could help him deal with them but he didn’t care lol
15:37 Not true. Rhystic Study auto triggers off of each and every opponent's spell cast. After which the opponent is presented with a choice which they must make. After the opponent makes their choice the controller of Rhystic study gets a choice where they may or may not draw. To say that each controller of Rhystic Study is responsible for keeping an almanac on every single cast of every single spell for the rest of the game is not only incorrect, but also very petty. I would have thought that Ayli would have already been pretty familiar with the rulings regarding this card.
The Rhystic Study controller is responsible for keeping up with the triggers. The RS player would announce their intention to draw, putting the trigger on the stack for the other player to pay or not. Even if it were a mandatory trigger, you can still miss it. It's not an infraction for you to not mention a trigger you don't control (IPG 2.1). Yeah it is petty to not remind RS triggers, but the card gives incredible advantage in a 4 player format. If you want that advantage, remember your triggers. I give RS players one free missed trigger per game, the rest is on them. Also, if I recall correctly, Ayli is a judge, so she would be very familiar with this ruling.
brightpalms ability only triggers when brightpalm attacks. "Whenever THIS creature attacks" double counters so that swing with shalai wouldn't have triggered brightpalm :/
I believe you couldn't have tutored and put Dynaheir in play with Sisay because her power was only 3 and Dynaheir's CMC is 4. Sisay can only look for targets that have a CMC less than her power. @29:00 Edit pretty much every activation.
I'm happy to say I'm so glad that Black People Tribal won this as I know the creator of that deck, and that's the exact combo he uses to win as well. If you're reading this Thai, give yourself a pat on the back as it's as you've made one awesome deck. Yours, Joseph
That ones a stretch. It's not in because Pippin is black, but because another Hobbit in the art is. Take a second look at the card. As I said it's a stretch, but I built the deck to be as good as possible and sit with my pods.
that is a great art and I did consider buying a new rhystic study just for it. But I already own the old one so that's the one Bryce brought on the show! (I'm Tyhrone btw, the guy that built Black is Magic)
Love the new blood! It's great to see some fresh, charming faces on the show, and a couple that plays Magic together, at that. I hope Bryce and Kari come back soon!
Me being who I am if I had a tutor in my hand I’m goin to find any board wipe I have I also like how ayli saw through dudes bs you could tell she was over his shit lol
im guessing youre asking what commander damage does? If a commander does 21 damage to a player they lose the game. its to help balance life gain strategies

1. Kill teferi while the opportunity exists
2. Listen to Ayli
If there is a floodgate on the table, and you don't benefit from it, remove it. It's that simple
Game was thrown when teferi stuck, wtf
could not understand why Kari didnt swing at the planeswalker

I built a similar theme deck as Sisay but with Tazri Beacon of Unity. All the art work was of women like Noble hierarch and kaya etc. Built the deck for the wife, as representation in the art work sparked her interest and respect for the game.

Hot take.. Neon Dynasty is NOT Kamigawa. If it is, its done poorly.

The fact that NOBODY had interaction at the IHYD table, which is famous for SPICE, is criminal. They earned this loss by not having solutions 🤦♂️

3:17 "The original Peter Jackson" the Peter Jackson movies are the remake of the ORIGINAL 1978 movie. Get your facts straight. (fake indignation)
The sad thing is that I also felt it was worth mentioning this...
The animated movie?
It was very weird. Too sensitive a game this time.
Also @29:57 Bryce draws a card off Woodwurm, then asks if the one is paid, and she pays it. I don't see him putting the card back.

Why didnt he assassin trophy the peacekeeper? He had the mana before playing the bat?
This episode.. ☹️
Why bring race into a game of magic?
What a lame way to win.
And how boring to play against a deck like that. "I play, you don't". How nice to play solitaire in a 4-people game.
👎
Cool I've built many white guy tribal
Everybody: Attack the planeswalker
Nobody: Attacks the planeswalker
Love Shalai and Hallar. I have her as a commander in a deck with 4 different infinite combos to kill the table. Seen so many sleep on her.
i wanted to see shelob tho 😢😢❤
I hate when people attack around the table to SPREAD the LOVE instead of doing proper threat assessment..................................

great episode otherwise :)
Dynaheir also has haste :)
That was really weird. At 1:42 I burned my tongue and lips with my coffee....
Im going to make a white human deck. And damn those who call me racist!

stupid question but what does the commander damage mather ?
If a singular commander deals 21 combat damage to someone, they die of commander damage.
21 commander damage allows you kill an opponent.
im guessing youre asking what commander damage does? If a commander does 21 damage to a player they lose the game. its to help balance life gain strategies
Because if you take 21 total commander damage from a single player you lose the game
You die if you receive 21 combat damage from 1 commander.
