    Cool set up! I just put my radio in a cup holder, and it works well for me. I keep a mag mount dual band antenna in the car, and just run the cable out a back window (I leave the window open just a crack). I get what I feel is pretty good performance, and can reach repeaters 39-35 miles away with great reliability.

    Press zero for volts in decimals...from off to on hold 3 ,for firmware version...off to on hold 6 ,for serial number...alarm can transmit or not while being silent or not but it's for help from your group..hold PTT an press number keys for TONEs ,to start repeaters..Russia we love you an baofeng we love you..FM radio ,light,alarm..........moni(monitor) squelch. Get chirp from internet and expand the frequency down to 118hmz.the lowest ti still receive.....125mhz is AIRband !!! Don't transmit !!! It's more trouble than calling the army.seriously..plus your not allowed to so just listen ok.kiol KOOL .my2cents.out oh get a "baofeng BF-F8 HP" it's 8watts.cya.

    A better solution to velcro, if I may recommend, is 3M Dual-Lock. Been using that stuff for years and it's so much more secure and you use less of it because it's very secure.

I've used industrial Velcro and mounted all my radios in visual locations that are out of the way but in line of sight. moving them from vehicle to vehicle is not a problem because of sicky back velcro. Mic's included.... then when I' out of the vehicle and parked, I remove the radios to out of sight locations .....all of them

TL/DR when ordering the mount, if there is an option, get the SMALL PHONE option to get the same one as here.

    Just found your channel. Ive been building a fun fishing, camping rig here in Yukon. Its my classic 1998 toyota rav 4 5 speed. Really fun driving. My other 4x4 is a 97 tacoma, lifted, armoured, winched and running 33 inch tires and driving it bores me to tears. I keep it for hunting and cutting forewood. My Rav used half the gas so I can affort to get out more.

    If you’re not holding it your hand there’s no ground plane and it will receive and transmit like crap. This setup will NOT work while driving. A counterpoise might help. It’s better to NOT amount the unit, hold it in your hand and use the built in mic. Any LEGIT ham radio operator will tell you the same.

  • @TheEASdude0825
    @TheEASdude0825 3 года назад

    For all who don't know this you need a license to transmit over any frequency on this radio and also THIS IS NOT A WALKIE-TALKIE DO NOT USE IT FOR A WALKIE-TALKIE UNLESS YOU HAVE A LICENSE. For normal walkie-talkies you don't need a license because those 2 or more walkies are on a closed frequency just for those radios. This one can tune to any frequency and even though you think a frequency is dead and you want to transmit all frequencies have something on them and you could get in serious trouble.
