Hunter seems to have a really great attitude. He can rib with the guys and take some heat. He seems like a really great kid. The combination of him and Ben has been great
I ran wreckers for over 30 years and watching all these builds I feel the hydraulic boom and winches gives you a big advantage. Put a hand throttle on the back or an electric idle kick up. Hydraulic winches rule.
As a former wrecker driver I have to agree with you, I had on my wrecker a switch that raised the idle to 1200 or 1800 rpm what ever i needed. An electric winch can't pull as an hydraulic can.
You guys have built one hell of a recovery vehicle. Your dad would be so proud. I’m sure he’s looking down from heaven saying “damn good job boys”. I’m so happy for you guys.
Now that you are removing the hydraulic winches. I would look at using the now unused hydraulic lines/controls and make some outriggers for the rear of the truck. That way you can anchor, level, break beads off tires and so on, on the trail.
Sittin in my camper trying to warm up after freezing my butt off at the top of the hill at Sand Hollow. Shame about the medical emergency, watched the life flight come in and take off. Didn’t look good. Enjoyed the event. You had quite a line at meet and greet. Merlin killed it in the dead tow.m
When I was a kid, my dad had a tow truck and he added tractor weight holder to the front when he needed help keeping the front down when pulling heavy vehicles out of ditches.
That truck is awesome y’all done one heck of a job building it. I bet yalls dad is looking down on y’all proud as can be to see that old truck turned into what it is now a work of fabricating art
