- LG G6 Unboxing & Detailed Hands On www.mobilegeeks... At first glance the G6 is just another smartphone, dropping the removable battery that the line was famous for was a big change. But LG is targeting the G6 at the masses and the masses want solid performance, durable build and a camera that won't quite! If you're after the highest end phone money can buy, from LG you're going to have to wait for the V30.
What do you think about the G6? Should LG have stuck to the midding modular design and committed to innovation for the sake of being different? Or are you happy with the thoughtful solid tank they've released with the G6?

First off, you're ADORABLE! Loved watching your review on this phone because it's clear that you know what you're talking about and do a great job of explaining the details where everyone can understand. You present it in a way that I feel like I'm talking to someone at a coffee shop, it's very down to earth. It was like a friend of mine was telling me about their phone. Well done!
I got this phone two days ago. I went into Tmobile to get an S8 because I had the S7 and really liked it but ended up walking out with this. Fist off, the S8 is $750. When I saw that price tag it gave me pause then it made me want to look at the G6. I looked at the G6, picked it up and played around with it then went home and watched a few reviews (including this one). I went back a few days later and spoke the the girl at Tmobile and she actually said that the G6 was $150 off. That sealed the deal. The G6 was only $500!
I mainly wanted to get a new phone because I take a lot of pictures (I run a website ((Just for fun)) and take a lot of pictures for it and there were times where I wasn't happy with the quality of the image from the S7. I can emphatically state that the G6 has really good image quality.
Now, the S8 probably has a great camera too but even if the G6 wasn't on sale through tmo it still would have been more expensive than the G6 and I do not feel that the S8 has any special features which justify the price.
I have no brand loyalty.
One thing I did notice right away, besides the better camera (imo), is that the G6 has better sound quality that the S7. Watching netflix or youtube on my S7 always sounded kind of "tinny" but the G6 seems to have a fuller range of sounds and more bass.
I been using G series since g3 and now I'm using g5, now I'm just waiting for it to be released and then buy it

It's a solid phone. The LG G4 is my favorite phone of all-time and this one isn't that much different. It's basically a more aesthetically pleasing version of the G4 without a removable battery. I'm not a fan of the back button on this one. Maybe it's just my unit but it doesn't work every time I press it. I would give this phone an 8/10.
I have the LG V20 and the LG will be my Second device definately I have always been faithful to Lg and it has payed off.

Well this is phone for mass consumption. LG has done a good job in every department still i believe some more focus can be bring on aesthetics. Fairly impressed by the camera dept..amazing job done.

I love LG, they make some of the best phones, my first LG was an LG Stylo, but now I have an Galaxy S8. I still think LG is up there with Samsung.

I think I've found a reviewer who is as analytical and OCD as me. I notice literally everything about a phone down to if the glass is fully glued down and flush with the body. Great review thanks!

could you test out the battery? that's one of my main concern. battery on my galaxy s7 edge is dreadful so i'm apprehensive to get another samsung. this might be my replacement if the battery holds up well.

I like the design of the phone with the Pearl blue and want to upgrade from a G4 but LG is making it hard for me. No quad dac and guaranteed terrible battery life based on the v20's performance with similar hardware isn't very convincing.
Lets be honest, LG's decision to use old hardware will only cut the shelf life of the G6 short and with price coming in above $700, the S8 will need to be quite a bit more expensive than that for this to succeed, I feel.
Still prefer this design to the s8 but LG could have knocked this out of the park.

Wow...amazing. After G2 and G3 i dont like any LG flagship design, so i think that LG cant make good design and now i change my mind after G6 launched. Btw, is the camera has landscape view when recording meanwhile the phone still on vertical position? Because many video result has recorded on vertical view and of course the phone on vertical position too...and its so disturbing to watch..

I'm with you on that question. it's like a toss up hear. I have the G5, I like.. but this G6 is just not taking me there to upgrade
the 2 things I don't like about it is they went down to 13 megapixel cameras and they took out the ir blaster. I don't think they needed to go down in quality so we didn't have the bump on the back because most of the people who have the phone will get a case especially since the back is glass now. I don't know if I'm gonna get this phone I might just get the v20.
Tlough YourBro 16 mega pixels doesn't mean a better camera. the best smart phone camera, on the pixel, has 12 mega pixels.
I can't speak for everyone, but I watch unboxing videos to see that initial reaction to seeing/holding a new device for the first time. When unboxing videos play a music track and rush past that part, that defeats the purpose (for me)

LG did a good job but they still need to change from IPS to AMOLED. Also Nicole your presentation was great but I just hope those were not your real numbers.

Thank you !!!Really nice vid The G6 looks awesome wish the camera pixels was @ list 16 & above my my G4 does amazing captures Actually the size of the sensor when cropping helps reducing the image in respectable size.I know might sound weird but I go in places that makes impossible caring my Canon Mark III with 100mm macro. Definitely shooting w G4 on manual mode results can be amazing.

is the LG g6 as loud as the g4?
The top and bottom bezels are very nicely thin... But I feel like the ones on the sides are not thin enough maybe for durability. But Samsungs S8 is gonna have curved screen which is gonna make it look completely bezel-less at the sides and thin at the top and bottom which is not good news for LG

True... Actually, LG is being smart... Almost feels like Samsung and LG have come to an agreement that they will make curved screens exclusively for the high-end and LG will stick to the flat. Cause for someone like me who is extra careful and has never cracked a screen on any of my mobile devices, S8 is great. But conversely, people who are exact opposite might/will prefer the noncurved LG. This way both make money and technically don't really eat into each other's profit...

heiok well you can still move most apps to external memory thanks to nougat.. yes some apps wont allow it but I move as much of my apps and have all my photos and music on my 120 gb ext. memory and it works like a charm 👌
