Excellent work, great video! I think the Bad Monkey 🙊 is also covered by Wampler on this pedal. I love that creamy texture and chewy guitar tone! Keep rocking man! 🤘🏻🎸🔥
Thanks so much for your kind words. Yeah, it's got that classic mid range covered for sure. Then with some EQ, you can get it to really bite if you need it. Such a versatile drive and a future classic, I'm sure 👍
My favourite OD, hands down. Lots of great ones, but the Triumph is just an absolute killer. I expect to see it grow in popularity over the years as more and more people try it. I use it in so many ways, but its always my tone shaper - everything is built around the smooth side (the punch side is killer as well) - be it low gain or pushed a bit more. Makes all my amps and pedals sound better. Its honestly a steal at £100.
I completely agree, I can see these becoming a classic. It does everything you could want an overdrive to do because of that super powerful EQ. You're spot on, it is a steal at £100 👍
While it's based around the SD-1 and Bad Monkey and generally covers the TS range of tones quite easily, would you say with Wampler's mods to the circuits that it can also get BD-2 territory? I'm considering a BD-2 but this pedal is around the same price or possibly cheaper, and well... its Wampler. I dare say it likely blows away anything based on the same root circuits even if it doesn't give me the exact thing I'm currently looking for.
@@thisdyingsoul76 I am not sure about the mods truth be told. For me, comparing to my other tube screamers, its much like the bad monkey that its a very similar circuit, but just now has 3 band eq instead of the 2 (from the bad monkey) and 1 tone (tube screamer). Also I'd say the pots feel like they just have a bit more range available tonally, especially with the bright switch ... Its been a while since I owned the BD2 or Screamin Blues (also a great pedal) - but I think with the bright switch on, you can get some where in the BD2 territory with this pedal.
I've heard some good things about the plumes, that it sits in a similar territory to a tube screamer but does it's own thing completely. I can say for certain that the triumph is a killer drive pedal 👍
The problem I have is that all Wampler pedals sound similar to me. And as you know, I have quite a few. Honourable exceptions to the Euphoria & Tumnus. Or it may just be that I have cloth ears.
I've not had the pleasure of trying out many of the Wampler line, but the two from this budget line sound miles apart. You know how much I like my overdrive and I had to do a little love letter to this one because it wowed me so much. I've heard great things about the Tumnus, I should really get my hands on one of those 👍
@@PBOD I’ve heard generally good things about the budget line. The Tumnus Mini & Tumnus Deluxe are like 2 different pedals with the same core sounds, but you gotta try them. The Ecstasy (or Euphoria as it is now) does a great Dumble. But the others I have are all much of a muchness - the Sovereign, the Dual Fusion, the Paisley, the Pantheon.
Wampler pedals are fantastic. If you have one with 3 band eq like the Pinnacle, Plexi drive deluxe, Tumnus deluxe, etc you may have to use your ears in order to get great tones. Everything at noon not always means perfect tone. That's very common on Wampler pedals. For example: The bass knob at noon is not neutral. Maybe neutral Bass you will find around 10 or 11 clock wise. Same can happens with treble or mids knobs. Do you understand? Well, most people don't realize that. We need to use our ears. Just my two cents
It also includes some of Brian's voicing mods, switchable via the front toggle and internal DIPs. You could perform theses mods on your own SD1 following his Indy Guitarist guides.
Let me know in the comments whether it got close or not?

I had a Cinders and it’s a great pedal.
The Wampler has much more versatility with its EQ knobs, much more.
Yeah, the Wampler has got a great deal of versatility. Sounds great in many applications for sure 👍

Can't go wrong with that for the price, really versitile and I really like the Wampler stuff.
Aye, they've bought some of that Wampler magic to a much more affordable price point. It's hard to argue with this one 👍
The Mayer vibes were strong. For the price it's up there with them!
Absolutely, 3 band EQ and can do a reasonably copy of about 5 different classic drive pedals? It's a winner for sure
I'm loving the tone on the pedal, like a little Swiss army knife of tone
Absolutely. That EQ is super powerful, huh?
That OD3 has a nice bit of crunch layered over the smoothness.
The OD3 really is an unsung hero in the boss lineup 👍
If you just want one single pedal to get your overdrive tone, the OD3 is the best sounding pedal out there IMO.
@@LeviBulgerthat’s it! od3 it is!
I’m STILL on the fence. I ordered the EQD Plumes but I’ll get this next

Sd1 and an eq
That's another option for sure. The SD-1 is a classic in it's own right 👍
